July Tag!

Hi Folks,

It's the 1st August tomorrow and I have just finished my tag for Tim's 12 Tags - July - talk about cutting it fine!

I don't have a can of air, so used a straw to blow, I mustn't have a lot of puff, because the first few were rubbish. Apart from the Alcohol Inks, and Picket Fence Stain, everything is improvised.  Manilla cardstock, co ordinations (not kraft core)   'Dream 'stamped on Silver cardstock,  Broken China dyed string, safety pin with a heart brad for charm!
I like the effect of the AI's especially after adding the mixative and Pearl AI - with a quick blow!
Its strange how addictive these tags become - even though its very late, I just couldn't miss.

Looking forward to seeing the August tag tomorrow and hopefully, it will be made sooner!

First Anniversary at FSC and its 'Anything Goes'

Can you believe Fashionable Stamping Challenges has been running for 1 year! Our First Anniversary and to Celebrate the challenge is 'Anything Goes'

The DT have made some stunning 'creations' , so please pop over and take a look. As usual we are sponsored by Marina of Cottage Crafts who is offering the winner a prize.

For my piece - I have seen quite a few 'faux book' cards and wanted to try  one myself, I followed this video on UTube.  and this is what I made this for DD's Birthday on Saturday, not that I really needed an excuse,   The front cover is  JustRite Fleuriste Newsprint, I saw this stamp used on a card made by Joan and thought it would be perfect for the front.
I wanted to have her name on the front - like an old book, so I masked off the lovely wording in the centre and used Rub Ons - Sacrilege - I know!
The front is distressed with Antique Linen and Vintage Photo, the scroll  is coloured with a Gold metallic Promarker.
The images inside are all Crafty Individuals and the lovely sewing paper is  MME Lost and Found, and all edges are distressed with Vintage Photo.  A lot of work, but I really enjoyed making this.

I hope you will join us to Celebrate our 1st Anniversary over at FSC and show us YOUR creations.

I am entering this at:

Fussy & Fancy - Vintage (with distressing and lace)
Phindys Place Friday Challenge - Buttons
  Poodles Parlour - Anything Goes
The Stamp Man - Anything Goes/Celebration
Its All About the Vintage -Anything Goes
  Crafty Creations - Buttons

That's it for now and thanks for looking

Hi Folks,
Just thought I'd show a card using 2 IndigoBlu stamps that were in my  crafty birthday goodies( I did make a wish list).
The background is the map, stamped 4 times with Memento Rich Cocoa and then inked with Antique Linen and Vintage Photo DI's. The main image is 'All Saints, again inked in Rich Cocoa and sponged with  Tumbled Glass, Antique Linen and V.Photo.
I am making the most of a couple of hours 'me' time as Son, DD and DH are in the process of moving the last of her belongings from Preston.  DD's boyfriend is getting off very lightly - he's on a Training Course for 2 days!
I am entering this card in:

  Sweet Stamping - Monochrome

That's it for now, but before I go I would like to say 'thank you' for all your lovely comments, especially when I am such a bad blogger at the moment.  DD's Boyfriend moves up at the weekend and they both start their new jobs next week, so hopefully then my life will return to normal!

Summer Popppy

Hi Folks,

Another week has just whizzed by helping DD move, but I did manage some 'me' time yesterday to play with some of my new birthday goodies.  This is the first inking - IndigoBlu's Poppy Meadow, this had been on the wish list for a while.
I wanted to keep it soft and feminine, but not detract from this big image.  The background was made with Old French Writing repeatedly stamped in Frayed Burlap and then inked with Bundled Sage, Spun Sugar and Tattered Rose. The EF is CB Script which was highlighted with Frayed Burlap. The sentiment is TH again stamped in FB.
I have missed a few of my favourite challenges lately, so to put things right, I am entering this at the Stamp Man which is -  Summer Colours and to me Poppies are Summer.
Brenda at Floral Fantasies has a challenge to show some poppies, so I am entering it there too.

I am also entering:
  Patties Creations - Summertime
  Stempelsonne - Summer
Divas by Design - Anything Goes
  Stampin' Royalty - Anything Goes
The Perfect Sentiment - Anything Goes with a Sentiment
  Everybody Art - Summer
Oldie but a Goodie - Flower Power (Lace is very old)

I would like to say 'hello' to my new followers,  hopefully life should be getting back to normal, and I will try my best to keep you interested.

Thanks for looking, and have a good weekend.

Time for Tea at TioT

Hi Folks,

Its time for 'So very British' at Try It On Tuesday!

This one took me out of my comfort zone -I know there are a lot of lovely  'British' stamps available this year, and great for the Jubilee, but, I just haven't bought any!  So thinking cap on -  got DH to draw me a a teapot and cups, which I then printed onto 2 pattered papers, half a doily from a pack  bought in the supermarket, gingham paper and the table was set for tea.  The letters are cut from the TH Vintage Market die, inked and coated with Glossy Accents, I set them at an angle, which looks fine on the card, but the pic looks messy for some reason!

I hope you will join us ans show us your 'Britishness'  The rest of the DT have created some fabulous inspiration for you, so please pop over to TioT for the full details.

I am entering this card in
Make It Monday - Anything Goes
Paper Pretties - Embossing - (embossed background)
Secret Crafter - Food & Drink

Before I go,  would just like to say 'hello' to my new followers - it's lovely to see you and thank you  ALL  for your lovely comments, I really do appreciate them, especially when I have been such a bad blogger lately.

Let's Get Messy & Inky over at FSC

Hi Folks,

I can't believe its nearly 2 weeks since I last posted on here, I thought life was settling down a bit after a hectic month or so, but no...... DD brought her move home forward, so as Boyfriend is still working in the NW.............best laid plans as they say.   Anyhow.....

Its time for a new theme over at Fashionable Stamping Challenges and for this one you can get as messy and inky as you like!

For my little 'number' I used a piece of pearl paper and lots of Alcohol Inks and the shine really shows through.  I stamped the Kanban Dress from the Jasper set, onto this and cut out the hat and dress. I stamped it again on white card and coloured the dress form section with Promarkers before layering the dress on top.  The background card was inked with Milled Lavender, run the the CB and then Dusty Concord sponged over the raised embossed parts.  I stamped a couple of the gears  from the set and heat embossed with gold EP  The butterfly was stamped on Acetate with Stazon and coloured on the reverse with AI's. Words are Tim Holtz matted onto a piece of the inked pearl paper.

I hope you will join us this time as its the perfect excuse to 'play', and if you need any inspiration, there are some fabulous 'creations' from the rest of the DT.

I am entering this card in
    Crafty Anns - Paper Piecing
Card Makin Mamas - Rubber Stamping
    Hotshot Crafts - Kanban
The Craft Pad - Paper piecing (dress and hat)
Stamptacular Sundays - Wings & Bling

Oriental at Fashionable Stamping

Hi Folks,

Can't believe how quickly the last 2 weeks have gone!  its time again for a new challenge at Fashionable Stamping Challenges.  and this time we are challenging you to go Oriental.I decided to go for an oriental garden look with cherry blossom.  I sponged Bundled sage on the bottom and Tumbled Glass for a sky,  the Script  and Cherry Blossom (Rubber Stampeed)  was stamped in Frayed Burlap Distress Ink so that I could drag the colour with a waterbrush. The blossom was painted with  Worn Lipstick DI. The Symbol was stamped with Frayed Burlap and heat embossed wth clear EP.  The main image was painted with H20s  for a lovely sheen.  A bit difficult to photograph.

The charm was in a packet of goodies won from my lovely DT sister Lynne.

Please pop over to FSC and se the other gorgeous makes from the rest of the team and we would love to see you join us for this challenge.
