Stormy wildflowers

Hello.....and thanks for calling in today, it's the end of June, and this is the first 'live' post of the month, I know we all call Blogger, but at least it does schedule posts.

We had a lovely holiday at the beginning of June in Icshia, a small island in the Bay of Naples, but that all seems like a distant memory now, as we were only home a few days when hubby became very poorly and ended up in hospital with Pneumonia, but after a week on ICCU I'm pleased to say, he's now recovering well and hopefully, life is returning to normal and hopefully crafting and blogging can resume.

As a start, I thought I'd share this card which was made a while ago using a background and mop up from one of my first plays with the Oxide inks,  I stamped the TH Wildflowers with Black and heat set using clear EP.  I loved the background colours, but it reminded me of a stormy sky and as the sun was shining, it didn't get blogged at the time, I wish our stormy sky outside my window looked as pretty as this instead of just grey!

Well that's it for now, I'll be catching up with you very soon.

Feminine and Fashionable

Hello and thanks for calling in today, it was my time to pick the theme this month at Fashionable Stamping Challenges and I chose 'Feminine' and if you like the theme, you still have time to enter.

As it was my theme, I decided to add another piece using some new  Stampendous Andy Skinner Shabby Chic stamps. Again I've printed out a label I found on the internet, re sized and then stamped the corset image in the center.

The box was left over from my favorite mint tea bags, was covered with a mix of Distress paints using a dry brush. I did some second generation  stamping with some of the other labels from the set
giving a worn vintage look to the box.

A few Sizzix Tiny tattered roses and leaves  and a pretty bow to complete.

You still have time to enter the challenge and you can find all the details here.

Have a great day,
Avril xx

Letters or Numbers at TioT

Hello, it's time for a new challenge at Try it on Tuesday and for this fortnight we have Letters or Numbers of you can even use both if you want.

I've got a lot of birthdays coming up so a great opportunity to use one of my favorite stamps, the sassy lady from Dyan Reavely's Couture set.  I stamped the image with Black Archival and heat set using clear EP before colouring the background with Oxide inks in Fossilized amber, Worn lipstick and Wilted Violet, using a blending tool and then spritzing on lots of water.  I also coloured a piece of card with Wilted Violet and stamped and fussy cut the coat,  hat and bow.  My numbers are rub-ons and the sentiment is a freebie from Creative Stamping, bought just for the sentiment!

The rest of the team have some great inspiration for you, so please pop over to the main blog for all the details.

Have a great day,
Avril

Make it Feminine at FSC

Hello, time to tell you about the new challenge at Fashionable Stamping and for this month it was my turn to pick the theme which is 'Make it Feminine'

A while back I printed off a couple of frames from the internet and this one was just right size for IndigoBlu's  ' Elsie' .  I made a background with lots of water and Oxide inks Fossilized Amber and Broken China.  I stamped the Stampendous  Blossom Spray with Fossilized Amber and then lightly coloured the leaves and blossom using a rolled up blending sponge with Peeled paint and Worn Lipstick.  The wildflower die cuts were coloured with DIs.

We have InkArt Designs as our sponsor for this challenge and they are offering one lucky random winner a stamp from their shop, and don't forget there's also a picked Top 3.  For all the details, please pop over to the main blog.

Again, a scheduled post,  and if I haven't visited lately, I'll be around later in the week.

Steampunk/Mechanical at TioT

Hello and thanks for calling in,  today sees the start of a new challenge at Try it on Tuesday and this fortnight the theme is  Steampunk /Mechanical.   As usual it's up to you what you make as long as it follows the theme.

I've made a card with an industrial look using card covered with metal foil tape embossed with a Spelbinders EF for the base and then black card embossed with a Tim Holtz cogs folder,  I used Treasure Gold in Aquamarine on some of the raised parts. The gears die cut was covered with paint and a copper embossing powder.  My three gents are an old Tim Holtz stamp again layered on some embossed  metal card.

The rest of the DT have some wonderful inspirations for you, so please pop over to the main blog where you will also find the challenge details and some news!

This is a scheduled post as we are on holiday in Italy,  hopefully enjoying some lovely sunshine and drinking lots of local wine, not too sure how good the internet will be, so if I don't catch up with you soon, see you next week.
