Christmas No.2

Hello and thanks for visiting, it's a very miserable grey day here in the N.E, so much so I struggled to get a decent photo and had to use the daylight lamp.  Christmas card no. 2, thought I'd better make a start - last year I ended up buying quite a few. I've used the TH mixed media die, again,( I really must use the others as much as I've used this one)  sprayed a piece of red card with the Tarnished Brass Stain to fit under the die cut area,  heat embossed some music script in gold on the smallest of the Tattered Poinsettia flowers, a little bit of foliage brushed with Enchanted Gold wax, quick but effective, especially if you want to make a few - I think I will be doing some die cutting  with the CB on my knee while watching t.v.
I am entering this at:
Holly Jolly Christmas - Die cuts

I would like to say 'hello' and 'thank you' to a couple of new followers, it's lovely that you want to join me on my crafty journey.
That's it for now enjoy the rest of your week,
Avril xx

  1. The very same weather here Avril, seems summer missed us completely this year and we are jumping right into the next season or even winter, according to hubby is was only 2 deg the last couple of mornings.

I really like your recent cards using this style, I've blown the photos up and have to ask the questions as I'm really not sure, does the die cut just the portion of the card rather than you have laid ripped card over a die cut piece ?

  4. It's gone from foggy to sunny and warm here in Ayrshire today, Avril, and after the awful weather we've had this last month or so it is most welcome. Hope it cheered up a bit for you too. Beautiful card, love everything about it. The poinsettia is stunning. Elizabeth xx

  17. Hi Avril, I saw this card on Pinterest, and it caught my imagination. Especially as I had some sheets of red, white and green handmade paper, streaked with gold lying in a drawer! I made my take on your card, and blogged it on my blog today. I also posted a pic of your card that inspired me, plus a link here to your blog. I hope that's ok? Thanks for the inspiration Avril, that's another 5cards into my Christmas stash! Crafty hugs, Shaz xx
