Hello, well my week didn't go as planned, but I did manage a little play time to finish this card which was die cut and stencilled a few weeks ago - I suppose that's a good thing as I didn't have to worry about the embossing being dry before I inked and sprayed! I've used Milled lavender on the top and Dusty concord on the base layer.
My butterfly had lots of inks and sprays before being given a coat of rock candy Distress crackle, just love all that crackle and shine, but so difficult to photograph.

I thought I would share this photos, we had the most beautiful sunset a couple of nights ago, and I couldn't resist taking this view from my craft room window.
Also, a few years ago DD bought me a fig plant for Mother's Day and for the last 3 years I have had about 6 figs each year, this year I've got about 12 and this is the first that has ripened and it's the biggest ever! A fig this size grown outdoors in the N.E of England!!
That's all for now, off to make a cup of coffee and a Blogland catch up.
Avril xx

ReplyDeleteWhat a wonderful sparkly butterfly! No doubt the new colour violet ink from TH is on your shopping list :-), you are lucky to have such a colourful sky - we tend to lose ours owing to all the trees nearby :-( but just occasionally we get a stunner. I wondered if the shades of purple was a logical link to the amazing fig you've managed to grow, the last time I saw figs on the tree in this country was at a friends house on the outskirts of Marlow back in 1980!!!

Scrumptious glossy crackle on the butterfly, and the deep purple looks wonderful peeking through the lattice. Lovely fig too - reminds me there were some on the tree outside, though with no sun lately I doubt if they've got anywhere. Hope you're having a lovely weekend.

ReplyDeleteI love the design of your card Avril, I remember a similar one a few weeks ago and had to give it a try.
ReplyDeleteAmazing sunset, we've had one or two but it's been difficult to get photos as the trees get in the way - one of the downsides of living in the pancake flat Fens.

Pleased to hear you fig is flourishing. Ours is the same this year as usually it has lots of little ones that drop off before they mature.Don't they taste amazing.
