Hello , it's time to tell you about the new challenge at Fashionable Stamping and for this month the theme is 'Under the Sea' and Flonzcraft are sponsoring one lucky random winner with a $20 spend in their online store.
For my card I began by cutting an oval aperture and then dragged my card through a very watery mix of Salty Ocean, Broken China and Tumbled Glass Distress inks. The piece behind the aperture was stamped with a free stamp from CS magazine. I also stamped onto vellum and fussy cut the sea horse which I coloured with Black soot DI and a white gel pen for the eye before attaching to the main image to give a translucent look. I added a mix of real and stamped shells and some greenery cut from the Sizzix Thinlits Festive Greenery.
The rest of the DT have some wonderful inspirations , so why not pop over to the main blog and you will also find all the challenge details.
Enjoy the rest of your weekend whatever you're doing, I'm still trying to catch up after a couple of hectic weeks.
Avril xx

A wonderful card Avril. I like the use of the apeturel and the background colours are just perfect. I thinks it looks great where you've dragged the card through the colours as it gives a lovely watery effect. The shells then give your card the perfect finish. It's good to see that we've both put those free stamps to good use :). Crafty hugs, Sandra X
ReplyDeleteBeautiful water color effect and a very well put together scene. I love your idea of coloring with black on vellum, it turned out beautiful!! I might try that next time I'm going to color a penguin, I'm not good at coloring black, but I'll try this.
