In the Garden

I seem to be in a bit of a floral mood lately - must bee all this hot weather keeping me in the garden, but it was a bit cooler yesterday, so  I had a  play with Tim's Flower Garden stamps,   I've used 2 sizes of the poppy, stamped onto watercolour card and coloured with a mix of Wilted Violet and Dusty Concord.
Inspiration has been a little slow with all this heat so I opted for an easy option and followed a recent tutorial by Jenny using Gesso and Oxide ink for the base of the card, I also blended on Frayed Burlap to give the panel a more aged look.   I also liked how she had used the Ornate Trims, and as I'd just bought these,  used that as a guide.   I then stamped a leaf section from the Glorious Bouquet in Forest Moss before adding some die cut Garden Greens.

  1. Looks stunning, I think the heat is playing with all of us, but it's so good, I will be so down if I have to go back to gloom and damp days....make the most of it...xx

  2. Those flowers are displayed beautifully Avril and delicately painted. I'm so glad I did not plant any new plants this year as they really would have not survived the heat. I'm happy watching the Butterflies and Bees dance around in the lavender and avoiding looking at the very yellow grass!!
Have a super weekend hugs Tracey xx

  3. Wow, it's so stunning!! The flowers look amazing!! I love the beautiful colors!! It's so hot here, too. The humidity is off the charts. It's supposed to ease up a bit this weekend, so keeping my fingers crossed!! Have a great weekend!! Big hugs :)

  5. I know exactly what you mean about the heat Avril, I don’t feel too inspired myself at the moment. Your card is beautiful and your layout is superb. I love your colour choices and you’ve done a great job in achieving the aged look without taking it too far, great dimension too. Thank you for sharing this with us at Stamping Sensations and good luck. Sandra x

  11. Just spotted this delicate spray of flowers. Very pretty. I must own up to having bought some oxides but they still have the cellophane wrappers on them. I'm off to the naughty step!! Hugs Mrs A.

  12. Such pretty flowers, I must get out and collect a few wild ones here so that I can do some sketches! Bees buzzing all around as there was quite a wet spring here leading to an abundance of wildflowers :-)
