We've just had a few days in the Lake District where the Autumn colours are making a lovely show, so, I took the colours as my starting point for this page. The theme also meant I could use this neglected Rubber Stampede lady image, which I stamped onto tissue paper, I wonder what she's dreaming of? As there's the vintage arched window in the background, I think it might be something romantic!
As I started making this page this afternoon I suddenly heard a rattling noise - when I looked behind the blind at the window, I saw this small Tortoiseshell butterfly fluttering against the window, where it came from I don't know as we've been away all week. I wasn't really sure what to do as we'd had a couple of showers but thought it was better off outside - it didn't take long for it to find the opened window.

ReplyDeleteLovely page, Avril. Great background and beautiful image. Kisses, my friend.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful page, Avril. Now you have me wondering how she ended up. Happily married ... or perhaps she became a nun. I'm glad you got to use a neglected stamp. It's perfect for the dream theme. Thank you for sharing your page with us at Art Journal Journey. Eileen xx
ReplyDeleteBeautiful page and glad you rescued the butterfly. Have a great day, hugs, Valerie

A beautiful and romantic page Avril, I hope her dreams come true.
ReplyDeleteGood for you to rescue the butterfly, I still see an odd one in the garden, it must be getting close to them over wintering somewhere.

There's a gorgeous sunlit glow to your autumn leaves, Avril, and the woman's face is beautiful emerging from the flurry. I love that elegant Gothic window too. Very atmospheric.

I’m not sure how this lady looks stamped on normal paper instead of tissue paper, but I imagine the tissue paper adds to the look of her being sketched rather than stamped? It’s a beautiful look. The autumnal colors are lovely, I also like how you added a few leaves for dimension.
ReplyDeleteRomantic and dreamy are what came to mind when I saw this gorgeous entry that is perfect for Eileen's theme at Art Journal Journey. It's a genuine beauty. The Gothic window adds to the dreamy quality and the autumn leaves show off the beauty of the season.
ReplyDeleteGreat save of the butterfly, too!

ReplyDeleteLove this gorgeous dreamy page! The butterflies did seem to hanging around quite late this year - on the day you posted this we were in a restaurant where there was a butterfly in the window and was allowed to fly free! Hugs, Chrisx
