Use Your Scraps at Try it on Tuesday

Our new challenge at Try it on Tuesday is Use Your Scraps, yes, something we all have.

I have a box full of scraps of fabric and lace which hardly get used - and although the piece of lace I've used was only a small square, I've made it look more by cutting around the flower design to make the pieces.

My page was gessoed with a rough brush and then blue and brown Distress sprays added and wiped back with a baby wipe,  with some background stamping in Potting Soil Archival.   I've also made a frame from a scrap of bandage for my butterfly lady image and stamped a Tim Holtz quote on a scrap of velum and heat set with clear EP for a little more definition.

The rest of the DT have been using their scraps in very ingenious  ways so please pop over to the blog, where you will also find all the challenge details.

I quite like the look of this romantic journal page, so you might see more lace/fabric scraps making their appearance and using scraps up always makes me feel good.

As there's different textures on this page I am joining in over at Art Journal Journey where Jo has chosen this month's theme of Texture.

Thanks for calling in, have a great day,
Avril xx

  15. That large piece of lace in the bottom right looks beautiful and sets the scene for the whole page. But I am sure I could not have parted with it, but then I am silly and will save and save things when I should use them and enjoy them. Thank you for using this lace and bringing such joy to the romantic page you have produced.
Love how you used the bandage to frame the photograph.
It is a very pretty and romantic page - love it!
