Autumn is such a beautiful time of the year and that's what we're celebrating this fortnight at Try it on Tuesday.
I love the colours of Autumn leaves and I feel lucky living on the edge of a wood where I can see them changing day by day, although I don't always feel so happy when I have to gather the piles of fallen leaves up!
When my children were small we loved nothing better than a walk in the woods, kicking the leaves and gathering the most interesting to take home and make collage pictures, leaf paint prints and etchings and I've tried to capture this with my journal page, using some die cut leaves and some little Autumn gatherings from a recent walk.
The rest of the Design Team have some lovely inspiration for you, so please pop over to the main blog and pay them a visit.
I'm going to join in the fun at Art Journal Journey where this month Wendy has chosen the theme of Vintage as I'm hoping my picture of this young woman and my 'vintage' quote qualify.
Thanks for calling in today, I really appreciate it.

Fabulous card Avril, have a great week, hugs, Valerie
ReplyDeleteYou would think with all the restrictions imposed by COVID that we would have lots more time but it just seems to have speeded everything up. I don’t know where my time goes. I am so behind on everything especially keeping up in blogland so it was lovely to see your comment.
ReplyDeleteYour journal page is a perfect example of Autumn 🍂. We have parkland on the side of our house and the leaves come down in our garden every year and it is a constant bag filling operation to clear them up. The twizzle sticks( thats what we used to call them or helicopters as kids) are coming down already.
Hugs Mrs A.
Such a beautiful autumnal page! I love your design with those pretty skeleton leaves 😁. So funny that you mention crunching leaves on your walks, I just can't relist piles of crunchy leaves and I've done this a couple of times on our walks of late, guess I'm a big kid at heart ....lol! Thanks for the inspiration and wishing you a lovely week! Hugs Jo x
ReplyDeleteThis is a gorgeous journal page Avril. You not only captured the feel of autumn but also made it vintage. I love how you added the lady's photo and the bit of burlap string around her. Fall woods walking is the best to. There is so much to find and no bugs. Hope all is well. Hugs-Erika

ReplyDeleteI echo all Valery-Anne says about time.
ReplyDeleteLike you I love the colours of Autumn and they are beautifully represented in you creation today.
Dare I admit that I went for a walk round the headlands the other day with the sole purpose of crunching leaves and collecting conkers. I got a good haul from the tree closest to the house, but both of those in the paddocks had nothing to offer, no doubt Sam the Squirrel, so named by youngest Granddaughter beat me to it for his winter larder.

I was most impressed by this clever take on autumn, Avril. I loved the leaves, and the quote. I also loved the texture you provided for the background. This is a stunning beauty Bleubeard and I think is perfect for Wendy's theme at Art Journal Journey.
ReplyDeleteA gorgeous autumn page and a trip down memory lane for me watching the boys tramp through the leaves when they were young. Its a super page for the AJJ theme, thankyou for linking up with us all there.

I really understand what it feels like to walk through the woods in Autumn when the leaves are falling and the air is crisp and clean. Your card is delightful with the pretty lady reflecting the joy of the season and the leaves a visual image of just why this mood is carried on.
