My first Digi!

Well folks, this is the first time I have used a Digi image!

I have won 2 lots of images and only got round to trying one out last week, I think I was a bit unsure whether the inks might bleed with Promarkers, but it was great, and although I haven't finished that card, I have bought these images from bugaboostamps. This little lady is JJ. I first saw bugaboostamps on Lorraine's Loft blog before Christmas and saved the link.
I have coloured her with Promarkers and used 2 of the sentiments,(main reason for doing an easel card) distressed and stickled all the edges. The flowers are Wild Orchid crafts coloured with Promarkers to match. I added 3 large crystals for a 'bit of bling'

I am entering this card in the following challenges
Fab & Funky Delight in your Digi
Digis with Attitude - Digi people
Ooh La La - 3 of a kind (3 crystals)
Totally Gorjuss - As you like it

LOTV Challenge

LOTV's challenge this week is a sketch by Dawny P, which was nice to work with, even thous it has taken most of the week to finish!
I have used Papermania Blueberry Hill papers which I distressed and stickled, along with the image and sentiment. The Wild Orchid flowers were also stickled!
I am also entering this card in Cute Card Thursdays challenge - 123 Recipe - 1 image, 2 flowers and three patterned papers.
It also fits Passion for Promarkers challenge - Let it shine - and there are plenty of stickles to shine on this card. Its the first time with this challenge as I'm never too confident of my colouring when I look at other entries - but here goes.

Just a short one today, must catch up with the housework for a change!

Thanks for looking

Sharing some Birthday Cards

I am having a 'day in' today, thought I better considering I was out with friends for lunch again yesterday, planned to spend some 'quality time' with DH, but he has gone to the pub with a friend to watch the football - and I didn't mind, after all I do have some new stamps to ink up!

I had a few birthday cards to make in November last year, took the photos, but didn't get the chance to show them. I tend to do 'girlie' cards for a lot of my friends and this is one of them. I have used my Clarity stamp - Sketchy Lady with black and white papers and red punched border, ribbon and pearls for a 'sophisticated' look! I have folded the front of the card back on itself, before adding the image. I did try black Promarkers for her dress, but it was too dense, so have used Distress Ink - Black Soot. I gave her a 'diamond' necklace which I think you can just see in the piccy.

I am going to enter this card in Papertake Weeklys challenge - Ribbons & Pearls
Lets Ink It Up Challenge is Anything Goes
I found a new challenge at Glenda's Papers,Scissors and Rocks by Glenda which is to use red on you project, so I am entering it there as well.

It was also 'craft buddy' Diane's birthday in November and I used some Clarity stamps that I had just bought (and somehow kept a secret from her - the card had to be something she hadn't seen before).

This one is Velvet Lady and a Lamppost stamp.
I used my Clarity swirl and heat embossed with Versamark and clear and gold embossing powders on the base card. I coloured the lady with Promarkers and chalked around her.

I am going to enter this card in Lets Ink It Up Anything Goes as well - not sure if this is allowed, but I do see multiple entries in some challenges, so it must be.

Oh, I nearly forgot, I won over at Craft your Passion for 'Tie One On'!

Well thats my second post today, so time to use the new House Mouse stamps.

House Mouse Challenge

OMG!!! I won a prize on the HM Blog hop, it was from DT Christine's blog,(this lady creates some gorgeous cards). I won a set of unmounted House Mouse stamps which arrived yesterday, thanks Christine. It was nice to have won from Christine's blog because she is one of my 'special' followers (I say special - because I only have 11 followers and you are ALL 'special')

Anyway, back to the card, for this fortnights House Mouse challenge, its 'Embossing'. I have used a Happy Hoppers stamp - Relaxing Bubbles, this bunny looks so chilled out!
For the little colouring involved I have used Promarkers, chalked the edges and then stickled. I used glitter flock and glitter for the bubbles, they look fluffy and sparkly in daylight, but not to sure if it show in the pic. The papers are the last little bit of a Papermania Capsul paper and although its quite a dark paper, I think it works with this image. Flowers are from Wild Orchid crafts, coloured with Promarkers to match (ribbon from a smellies gift box) and the sentiment is computer generated.

I am also entering this card in the Simon Says Challege which is 'Bingo' and I have picked - Ribbon - Embosssing and a Die cut.

House Mouse & Friends Monthly Challenge is Celebrate

Fab & Funky's challenge this week is Animal Magic - and this bunny is magic!

Creative Craft Challenges is Monochrommatic madness - its all purple

The challenge at Fuzzywuzzy this month is Anything Goes - as long as you use an animal in you image

Crafts & Me challenge is monochrome this week so entering there as well!

That's it for now, but I hope to be back later to show some birthday cards I made in November, but didn't get the chance to upload.

Thanks for looking and if you like what you see, please pop back.

Penny Black Challenge

This is another challenge that I haven't entered for a while, I often start cards, but don't get them finished in time, so even though its been a busy week, I was determined to finish and enter it. (Busy - Avril's definition - out with hubby on Monday, lunch and shopping with my friend Jean yesterday (got some really good bargains in the sales. Well a girl can't have too many dresses!) - and my son was coming for lunch today, so knew if it wasn't finished this morning, it wouldn't get done as 'craft buddy' Diane is coming over tonight!)

The challenge at Penny Black this week is a 'card buffet' pick 4 items. I have gone for - papers - ribbon - a charm and 4 gems (one of which is in the charm). I have used a sketch set by Debby a few weeks ago, its such a lovely one to work with (thanks again Debby). The image is 'Gift of Flowers' coloured with Promarkers and the papers are MME which were a freebie last summer with a card mag.

This card is also being entered in Oldie but a Goldie - Bright & Cheerful. I have had the stamp for about 18 months and the papers are from last summer!

Well that's it, must get the kettle on for Diane coming over.

Fairy Wings

o

I love the LOTV challenges, their stamps are so cute, but since the challenge went to every week (yes it was a while ago!) I don't seen to get the cards finished. So, New Year - new resolution - try harder!
LOTV's challenge this week is 'Things with Wings' and as I only have this fairy stamp, she had to be the one!

The papers are from the Papermania Capsule Boysenberry pad, there are some gorgeous designs in there. I have coloured her with Promarkers and H2O's for her dress and wings, but the sparkle doesn't show up in the photo. The butterflies are punched in the pearlised paper (same as swirl die cuts) and layered with vellum, then glittered.

This card also fits the Ooh La La challenge - Bling it On (stickles, pearls & swirls.
The By theCute and Girly challenge is also Bling It On
Craft Your Passion is - Tie One On (ribbon tied around DP)
Cute Card Thursday - Monochrome (all mauve)

As you can see - 5 challenges - I really did try hard this week!

Thanks for looking

House Mouse Challenge Blog hop

Have actually managed to finish this card, its taken all week! I really love these cute mice and the DT's on the House Mouse challenge 'New Beginnings' have done some great cards!

My image is from one of the unmounted Summer sets but thought it was just right for a retirement card that I needed to make. I coloured him with ProMarkers and used the Blender pen for his body in the glass and to make it look 'liquid' I added 3D Gloss, it doesn't show too well in the photo though, the weatherman promised 'sunny spells' but they haven't arrived, so a dull photo I'm afraid.

The House Mouse & Friends Monthly challenge is 'Celebrate' so this card fits that one as well

That's it for now, off to the 'blog hop' (my afternoon taken care of)

Thanks for looking,

Avril

HAPPY NEW YEAR

I hope everyone had a lovely Christmas and a good New Year.

Its been such a long time since I was last here, what with a bad cold just before my holiday and then just getting back and gearing up for Christmas when the horrible thing struck again!
I am now feeling OK and just itching to start making cards again - hope I haven't forgotten how - its that long since I crafted!!

I made this card for a friends birthday in November, but didn't get the chance to share it with you. The stamped image is Crafty Individuals, (borrowed from my crafty friend Diane) the papers are Papermania.

I didn't colour the image, and although you can't tell from the photo, I did distress the image and edges with Antique Linen, to give a vintage look.

Checked out a couple of challenges and I can enter this (can't waste a card or an opportunity)
Papertake Weekly - Anything Goes
Fab & Funky - Anything Goes

It feels nice to be in blogland again and I'm off to do a 'catch up' and find out what everyone has been up to!

Take care, and thanks for looking
