Circle the Globe at Fashionable Stamping Challenge

Its time for another challenge at Fashionable Stamping and for this fortnight it's 'Circle the Globe' in other words we want to see circles on your project and we would love to see how you interpret this.
But don't forget, we especially need to see that the stamping is the focal point on the project and that this must follow the format of the theme.  We are again sponsored by Flonzcraft, who are offering one lucky random winner a $20 spend in their online store.
For my card I have used my new Jofy stamps, something completely different for me, but I love these quirky flowers.  I stamped in black and heat  embossed using Clear EP.  The flowers were coloured with Distress Markers and then heat embossed using a Watermark embossing pen and Clear EP, which meant I could ink and splatter without affecting the coloured flowers and circles.  My butterfly was stamped before cutting with a circle Nesti, which was left in place while I coloured with Peacock feathers  DI.  The words were heat embossed before cutting up, and all edged with the PF DI.
My fabulous teamies have some wonderful interpretations of these theme, so please pop over to the main blog, you won't be disappointed, and of course, all the rules and information is there.

I am entering this at:
  Allsorts - Butterflies
  Thats Crafty - Spring
  Crafts4Eternity - Stamp It
A Little Bit Crafty - Flower Power
The Artistic Stamper - In the Garden
  Stamping Sensations - Anything Goes

Enjoy the rest of the Bank Holiday weekend and thanks for  popping by,  I do hope to start visiting  and to get back to normal this week.

Script tag

Hi - would you believe I'm actually showing something that's not a DT piece - I was looking for an old post and realised since April I have only shown 3 makes that weren't for DTs!  I had to rectify that and have some time to 'play' just for me, but couldn't think what to do - so, decided on a tag, love the fact that there's so much that can be added to such a small space.
Stamped the TH Papillion script with Walnut Stain DI, then distressed with Wild Honey, Spiced Marmalade and Peeled Paint DIs, coloured the Tattered Doily with the Wild Honey & Sp.Marmalade.  My 'home made chit chat' stickers were cut from  aTim Holtz Stuff to Say. stamp.   Flowers were cut from the Tattered Floral strip die. Dyed ribbon and muslin. Matted onto brown cardstock - which hid the messy back!  Quite quick and easy - and it did the trick - got Mr Mojo back on track.

I'm entering this at:
Aud Sentiments - Anything but a card with a sentiment
Crafty Ribbons - Anything Goes with Ribbons
Crafting for all Seasons - Tags
  Penny's Paper-Crafty - Dies & Punches

I'm 'home alone' this weekend as DH is going to future SIL's stag weekend - just to be the responsible adult - so he said! so think I might just manage some crafting time.  Have a great Bank Holiday weekend whatever you're doing.

Tag Time!

Hi and welcome to another challenge at Fashionable Stamping and this time the theme is 'Tag Time'
We are again sponsored by Flonzcraft who are offering one lucky random winner a $20 gift certificate to spend in their online store.

I decided on a double tag, which meant I could get dark and inky on the bottom tag before embossing and highlighting with Treasure Gold.  The top tag was given a similar treatment, but not so dark, I added an extra butterfly stamped on Acetate with Stazon  to the stamped image.  The words are stamped on Vellum  (think I need to use this more often) and inked around the edged with Peacock Feathers, muslin and ribbon were also dyed.  The flowers are Tim Holtz Tattered Floral Strip, I love this die, you can use  up lots of scraps of paper for the flowers - now I know why I kept all the scraps!
My talented teamies have some fabulous inspiration so please pop over here to have a look.

This is a schedule post, and I will catch up with you soon.

I am entering this in:
Anything but a Card - Dust it off  (leftover scraps of paper)
Eclectic Ellapu - Anything with Wings
  PanPastels - Tag It
Ribbon Girls - Add a Diecut
The Crafty Calendar - Things with Wings

For my DT piece Idecided to go with pastel Spring colours and  have used IndigoBlu stamps -  'Ella'Bella' - just love these swirls and for my background I used the Vintage Flourish which was first stamped on white cardstock with Versamark and heat embossed with Clear EP, I stamped again with Bundled Sage DI, coloured with DIs and then used a tissue to remove the ink from the embossing.  I used the same DIs on the Nesti Diecut (Romantic Rectangles) before stamping my image with Archival black, I added Glamour dust in her hair, but it hasn't shown. The sentiment is Inkylicious, stamped with bundled sage and again heat embossed with clear EP. The flowers, TH Tattered floral dies, were stamped with the Flourish before distressing with Spun Sugar.

For Your Eyes Only

Hi Folks,

Its time for another challenge at Try it on Tuesdays, and this time Its All About the Eyes -  Blue, Brown Green, Big or Small - as long as they are a feature on your creation.  We have a new Sponsor for this month - Really Reasonable Ribbons - who are offering our winner a $15. gift cert to spend in their online store

For my piece, I have used an Inkylicious stamp for my main image which was torn and  layered onto a torn CB 'Textile 'embossed mat, the background is also embossed with the same folder.  This card was quite difficult to photograph - I say that because apart from her face, all distressing is Tumbled Glass and Vintage Photo, but somehow it looks quite green!  I felt my card did need a sentiment - sometimes I don't add them and just wait till I decide who its for, anyhow - the words I felt although a little 'James Bond' were also suitable for Love and Valentines, that is until DD came to visit and said - "That's the name of a Strip Club in Newcastle"  .......so, If you live in Newcastle this isn't an invitation!!!
I added a shabby flower, inked and distressed with Tumbled Glass and V Photo!
As usual my very talented teamies have some wonderful inspiration for you, so please pop over here.

I'd just like to say 'hello' to my new followers, and 'Thank You' for being here.

I am entering this in:
Craft Your Passion - My Valentine
Creative Creations - It Must Be Love
Make It Monday - Anything Goes
Ooh La La - Love Story
Crazy4Challenges - Cards with Heart but no red or pink
  Anything Goes - Vintage/Shabby Chic

That's it from me, and thank you for all the lovely comments on my 'Bird' card,  I really do appreciate them.

Birds at Fashionable Stamping

Hi Folks,

Its time for another challenge over at  Fashionable Stamping and this time its 'Birds'

It seems ages since I crafted, as I've had a viral infection which left me so tired I just couldn't be bothered to do anything, so when I eventually made my DT piece I wanted to do something 'pretty'.  I don't have a lot of bird stamps, and when I've used my Tim Holtz Bird in the past its always ended up rather 'masculine',  this time I was determined it would be 'feminine'. After stamping the image I used the TH Floral Swirl and some grass stamps for a border. I used the Swirl, this time stamped in Tumbled Glass for the base card.  I embossed the image with a TH Bookframe EF before distressing with TG and Vintage Photo. The mat for the image is again the embossed Bookframe, but just distressed with the TG.  The small roses were made with the Tattered Floral dies smallest petals.
We would love you to join us this fortnight, and if you need any 'Bird'  ideas, my fabulous teamies have some great inspirations, so please pop over here.

I am entering this at:
Sugar Creek Hollow - Feathers or Fur
Crafty Ribbons - Anything Goes with Ribbon
Delightful Challenges - Think Spring (Pastel Colours)
  Forever Friends Challenge - Animals/Butterflies/Birds
  Happy Campers - Shabby/Chic
Divas by Design - Winged Things
  Ruby's Rainbow - Roses
  Penny's Paper-crafty - Ribbons & Bows

That's it for now, except to say 'hello' to my new followers, It's lovely to see you and I hope you will visit often.   Enjoy the rest of the weekend and I hope to do some catching up later.

A Different Kind of Valentine for TioT

Hi Folks, well today sees the start of a new challenge at Try it on Tuesdays and, yes, as Valentines Day is approaching, we thought you might like to make a start and create something with at least 1 heart!
I had a lovely 'play day' when I made the background on this tag. I embossed the Leaf Swirl with Stencil Paste and then PaperArtsy Fresco paints -  Snowflake, French Toast and South Pacific, (bought these in October at GNP and its the first time I've used them - shame on me). I wanted a shabby look, so didn't completely cover the white stencil paste, which I had heat dried and gave a rough texture. I applied Treasure Gold in Aquamarine on the raised leaves, and then applied some gold rub on around the edges of the tag, which when polished up has given a lovely rich sheen.  The dress form was distressed with Faded JeansDI  and then stamped in FJ, the tulle and vintage seam binding were also dyed with FJ ink. Her little heart was distressed and then embossed with Gold EP and a little heart crystal added.  The sentiment, embossed with gold EP is Tim Holtz.
The rest of the DT have some fabulous inspiration for you, so please pop over here to take a look, and as this is the last of our January challenges, we are sponsored for this month by Crafty Embillies.
We would love you to join us in this challenge, but remember, you can only link your creation up to 5 challenges including ours to be in with a chance of being picked for our Top 5.

I am entering this at:
Addicted to Stamps - Use Material
  Crafty Ribbons - Love/Anniversary/Romance
DragonsDream - Dress To Impress (dress form)
Creative Craft Challenge - Bling it Up
Make it Monday - Anything Goes

That's it for now and thanks for looking.

Sharing the Love at Fashionable Samping

Hi Folks,

Its time for another challenge over at Fashionable Stamping and this time, we would love you to 'Share Some Love'.
For my piece, my new 'love' of tags  was the choice, and as I love stamping and inking, well, that had to be the starting point. I used the new IndigoBlu 'Vintage Flourish' stamped in Versamark and heat embossed with Clear EP on a white tag, then my new favourite Distress Inks - Iced Spruce and Seedless Preserve with a bit of Bundles Sage thrown in for good measure. Second generation background stamping in Frayed Burlap, and then polished up to reveal the lovely white flourish.
My image 'Woman in Repose' by Rubber Stampeed, was stamped onto white card in Iced Spruce, softly distressed with Spun Sugar to soften the white, and her lips were painted with Spun Sugar. This was matted onto cardstock which had been randomly distressed with the same inks, which were also used  to die the seam binding. The letters, TH Vintage Market die, were also distressed  and coated with Glossy Accents.
My DT Sisters have as usual created some wonderful pieces for your inspiration, and this week for added inspiration, we have Chris  of   http://imaginationandinspirationwithchris.blogspot.co.uk/  as a Guest Designer  so please pop over here to take a look.  As ever we are sponsored by Cottage Crafts to the value of €7, so why don't you join us and 'Share some Love'.

I am entering this at:
Fat Pages with Attitude - Love
Gingerloft - Love is in the Air
  C.R.A.F.T. - Valentines/Love
Aud Sentiments - Bingo (Die cut/Embossing/LOVE)

Hi Folks,

Hope everyone is safe and well in this snowy weather, although we have had snow all day, it has been wet and making the previous snow into slush - I hate this bit!
My card today is for the Challenge at In The Pink and its there by the skin of my teeth!  Still felt the need for something pretty, and as the challenge suggests, its PINK!  The paper is a Pink Petticoat freebie, stitched and distressed, added half a lace 'cake' doily again distressed. The CI image was stamped in Brown StaZon and coloured with Spun Sugar Distress marker.  My shabby flower is TH Tattered Florals, with a lace and pearl centre and a bottom layer of gauze (raided the First Aid box again) and lace.

I also added 3 vintage lace flowers from my stash.  The bow was coloured with Spun Sugar and Tattered Rose.
I am also entering this in:

Hi Folks,

Its time for another Challenge at Try it on Tuesday and this time we would love you to get 'Stitchy' these can be real or 'faux'.

Trains, Planes & Automobiles

Hi Folks,
Where did last week go - I was full of good intentions, but a busy week and computer problems left no time for crafting!
Anyhow, its time for a new challenge over at Fashionable Stamping and this time it's 'Trains, Planes and Automobiles' and we would like to see any or all of them on your project.
I decided on a tag and took the opportunity to use my JustRite map background stamp that I got at Harrogate GNP in October, which I'm sad to say hadn't seen ink!  My travelling couple are a BLine stamp, the Aeroplane is Tim Holtz, (another new and uninked) both of these were stamped in Black Versamark and then masked before stamping the map, I then masked that and stamped the TH Compass.  For the colouring I used Distress Markers and  a little Brushed Pewter Stain on the plane, before distressing the edges with Vintage Photo Distress Ink.
We would love you to join us - the prize of a €7 Gift Cert to spend in Cottage Crafts online shop is now picked by 'Mr Random Org', although we will still be doing a Top 3 and a Spotlight.  If you need any inspiration, pleas pop over here, as my fabulous teamies have once again come up with some fabulous creations.

I am entering this at:
Paper Crafting Journey - Anything Goes
Crafting for All Seasons - Something New
  Crafty Creations - Something New
Stampin for the Weekend - Anything Goes

Alphabet Challenge

Hi Folks,

I must tell you my news - a few weeks ago I was asked to join the very talented team over at Alphabet Challenges, and this is my first 'outing' where the theme is - X marks the Spot -  in other words -
Spots and Stripes.

I decided on another tag, I love doing these, but don't always know what to do with them, apart from adding to a card base or attached to a gift.
For my 'tag' I cut some corrugated card with the TH Dressform, peeled the top layer off to expose my 'stripes' and then heat embossed with WOW Metallic Gold Sparkle EP.   Distress inks Bundles Sage, Iced Spruce, Tumbled Glass and Wild Honey made up my background, Dusty Concord was applied through a mask for my spots. TH Script and Flower Swirl stamping in BS and DC, all spritzed with Biscotti Perfect Pearls.
The flower, was inked and then spots applied through the mask. The ribbon was dyed with BS and TG inks, then stamped with a 'dots' stamp in DC ink.

I turned this into a 'card' by adding another tag, scored and glued at the top....... so now I have the option of being able to display it better or send it without the recipient wondering where the present is!!!

The rest of the DT  have some wonderful inspiration, so please pop over here and take a look.

I am also entering this in:
Live and Love Crafts - Old (Everything used is 6 - 12months old)
Divas By Design - Anything Goes
Craft Room Challenge - Make a Tag

Thats it for now, hope you all have a good weekend,  and thanks for looking.

Surprise Us!

Hi Folks,

Well I hope you all had a good Christmas and if you were good, got lots of lovely new stash!  I must have been very good this year - lots of new stash, which I've been dying to try out,  but haven't had much crafting time.
The theme this fortnight at Fashionable Stamping is 'Susrprise Us'   and my surprise was that I had a couple of hours on Friday night to make my DT card, but unfortunately, it has rained since (for a change) and I've really struggled to take a decent picture.
I've used new Katzelkraft stamps, so a good excuse to go all girly and pink!
The lady is stamped in Onyx Black Versamark, coloured with Tattered Rose Distress Marker, and the background is DI's. The frame , which was cut with a Nesti, was coloured with Victorian Velvet and then heat embossed with Silver Pearl EP.
The background  is a mixture of Katzelcraft and Inkylicious stamps, which were stamped with a Memento black inkpad for a slightly faded look.
My fabulous teamies were a bit more organised than me and will really surprise you with their creations, so please pop over here to be 'surprised'!!!
And don't forget - we are sponsored by Marina of Cottage Crafts who will be offering the winner a €7 gift cert to spend in the online store.

Before I go, I would like to wish you all a Very Happy New Year,  and hoping that 2013 will be a lot sunnier so we can all take good photographs!!!

I am going to enter this in:
In the Pink - Pink & Pearlie
  Totally Gorjuss - New
Stampin for the Weekend - Anything Goes
Simon Says Stamp - Anything Goes

Thats it for me until next year, thanks for - looking,  your very much appreciated comments and your continued support and friendship.

Mask It

Hi Folks,

Well I'm back after a lovely sunny holiday, it was really nice to wake up to sunshine every day for 2 weeks,
but its back to reality now, and a catch up on Christmas!
Back to reality also means another challenge at Fashionable Stamping Challenges and this time its 'Mask It'.
This can be using masks or stencils as well as masking techniques with rubber stamps.
I have used both on my card, I started with a Tando Music mask with Tattered Rose and Bundled Sage DI, and then over the top I used and Imagination Leaf Swirl mask with the same inks.  For the stamped panel I used IndigoBlu 'Music Hall'. The lady was stamped and masked then I stamped with the Music hall poster and then masked that before random stamping with the music score.  The sentiment is also from the same set.
I made the card before I went on holiday, but didn't take a photo and since returning home the days have been so dark I have really struggled to get a decent photo and this looks a bit 'green' no matter what I do!
The rest of the DT have some wonderful creations for your inspiration, so please pop over here to take a look, and don't forget, we are as usual sponsored by Cottage Crafts and the winner will receive a €7  to spend in their online store.

Now that the washing and ironing is done, Christmas Tree is up and the cards are all posted, I hope to start catching up and finding out what you have all been up to!
Thanks for looking.

Lets Get Inky at Try it on Tuesdays

Hi Folks,

Its time for a new challenge at Try it on Tuesdays and this time its 'Inky'.

I don't know about you, but I love playing with inks and just seeing where it take me, and this tag was no different.  I started with a white tag and used Tim's Marbled Stains technique, using Iced Spruce and Picket Fence and because I don't as yet have the Metallic stains I used a few sprays of Perfect Pearls which gave a gorgeous simmer in places.  I then started stamping the snowflake, first with Picket Fence, then Silver Paint Dabber, followed by PaperArtsy Snowflake Fresco Finish. Silver homemade Frantage for a sparkly border.

The next layer is Vellum, again stamped with the snowflake, first in Iced Spruce then Snowflake Fresco. This was then put through a crimper, before adding silver embossing. To give depth, I used an ink duster on the reverse, first with Evergreen Bough and then Festive Berries.  The main image is Inkadinkado, stamped on white card, coloured with DIs and Stickles, and again a silver embossed border.  The fivers were stained with Festive Berries and Evergreen Bough - you should have seen my hands - must remember to wear rubber gloves!!

I hope you will join us and show us your inkyness and if you need any inspiration, please pop over here to sew the rest of the DT's inky offerings.

Again a scheduled post - I hope everyone is well and safe.

To Die For!

Hi Folks,

To Die For!  Yes, that's the new Challenge at Fashionable Stamping Challenges, and we would love to see either Diecuts or Punches on your creations, and don't forget our lovely sponsor, Marina of Cottage Crafts is offering the lucky winner a €7 Gift voucher to spend in her online shop.

For my card, I have used this lovely image from Rubber Stampeed which is a recent EBay purchase. I have coveted this stamp for a long time, not knowing the name until my DT sister Yvonne used it a few weeks ago and gave me the info( thanks Yvonne)  - and after a quick search on EB - there it was just waiting for me!

The image was stamped and given just a light shading with Tattered Rose DI and used the ink and a waterbrush to paint her lips. The sentiment is Tim Holtz.  My Diecut frame was distressed with the same ink.
The papers are Prima Botanical (free with a recent mag). Flowers TH Tattered floral die, and distressed with Spun Sugar and Victorian Velvet, and a Marianne Swirl.

I hope you will join us and if you need any inspirations, please pop over here and see the fabulous creations from the rest of the DT.

This is a scheduled post, and hopefully I am enjoying some much needed sunshine, something lacking in the UK lately.  I hope you are all safe and the weather isn't too unkind to you.

Thanks for looking.

Autumn Lady

Hi Folks,

The last week at Make My Monday's Autumn theme is Buttons and Ribbon, so for me, a feminine Autumn card.
The image is  Kanban, not sure of the name as it was borrowed from my crafty friend Diane, coloured with Promarkers and distressed with Vintage Photo and Walnut stain ink. The base card, was coloured with Wild Honey and Spiced Marmalade DIs and then randomly stamped with an old Anita's leaf stamp in the same inks, plus Vintage Photo. The seam binding ribbon was coloured with a mix of DIs. and finished with an antique button, the co'ordinations backing was embossed with a CB script folder.  The Design Team have come up with some stunning creations as usual, so please take a look here, I'm sure you wont be disappointed.

It has been a pleasure working with the ladies from Make My Monday, and I look forward to entering their challenges again in the New Year.  If you're still with me, you are probably wondering whats wrong with the December challenges!  Nothing..........its just that I'm off on holiday for 2 weeks on Wednesday, so apart from scheduled DT posts, this is it for now.  I must admit, I'm a bit stressed, we didn't organise this until a couple of weeks ago, so I have been in overdrive getting everything done before I go away, hence the poor blogging of late!

I am entering this is:
Crazy 4 Challenges - Put a Bow on it
Stampin for the Weekend - Texture - Embossed background
Make it Monday - Anything Goes
  Gingerloft - Leaves (background)

Thanks for looking, see you in a couple of weeks.

Hi Folks,

Its time for another challenge over at Fashionable Stamping and this week it's   Home Sweet Home. My teamies have again excelled themselves and created a wonderful variety of 'Home' themes, so please do pop over here and take a look.  We are again sponsored by the lovely Marina of Cottage Crafts who will will give our winner a €7 voucher to spend in her online shop.

For my card, I  used one of the new Christmas stamps from Stampendous. I stamped  on to a shaped card, distressed the image with Vintage Photo, masked the image and used the free stamp from this months Craft Stamper  for the Snowflake border, and stamped in Iced Spruce, which was also used for the shading. I stamped again and  coloured with Promarkers and DIs added Diamond Dust, which gives a lovely crunchy sparkle, which of course, doesn't show in the photo, and attached with 3D foam.

I don't know about you, but I do try to make all my Christmas cards, so there was a little batch of this one!

I am entering this card in:
