Black and White + 1

The new challenge at Try it on Tuesday is Black and White + 1 colour, which you chose.

My colour choice was Picked Raspberry and I love the shades you can get from this.  I embossed my main image and heat set with white EP.  My flower head was stamped twice onto watercolour card, and colouring with Picked Raspberry, adding lots of water to the top layer of colour.

The Design Team have some fabulous samples to show, please pop over to the main blog, where you will also find all the challenge details.

Thanks for calling in,
Stay safe, Avril xx

Moments

Hope you're all managing to keep busy as well as staying safe, I  know I thought that with this lockdown I'd do lots of crafting, but that hasn't happened, however I'm always busy!  I also intended to use up some of the many backgrounds I made, so I did use another of last weeks mono prints before putting the others in the box.

After stamping my image I used a circle mask over the fussy cut flower head and inked the rest of the background.

You still have another week to enter our Have Fun with Stencils Challenge  at Try it on Tuesday, and the details can be found on the main blog.

Thanks for calling in,

Gold and Silver

I'm playing along with Tag Tuesday where the them is Gold & Silver, colours I use a lot at Christmas, but not together so much during the year.  As I'm on a mission to use up some backgrounds, I found this one, which had been sprayed with gold ink and I'd used a real fern leaf as a mask.

I've stamped the Fritillary image in black, and then the flower head again on a scrap of Tyvek that had been sprayed with pink and had silver ink splatters over the top and fussy cut.  Some extra silver embossing around the edges to complete.

Thanks for calling in and I hope you're staying safe,
Avril xx

Have Fun with Stencils

The new challenge at Try it on Tuesday is Have Fun with Stencils, well I certainly had fun doing mono prints with my stencil.
I made quite a few backgrounds by spraying Oxide inks over my Flourish stencil,  and then flipping the stencil to print, drying and then drying with a heat tool, spraying with water to allow the ink to wick, drying again  and flicking water droplets before patting with a kitchen towel.  I used a mixture of 'clean' card and also some 'mop up' pieces to create different effects, and you also get the leftover pieces from under the sprayed stencil.

I've used the Dancing Lady from Rubber Dance along with some freebie stamps to complete.
The rest of the Design Team have some fabulous inspiration for you, so please pop over to the
main blog where you will also find all the challenge details.

I am entering this at Penny Black and More where the theme is Anything Goes

Things have been a little quiet around here, I took advantage of last weeks lovely weather to work in the garden, just as well as we've had a  cold and cloudy Easter weekend, typical of my part of the country!

Stay safe,

The Beauty of Nature - Take 2

The current theme at Try it on Tuesday is The Beauty of Nature which has given me a great opportunity to use my new  AALL & Create Blooming Field stamps, a 'brighten up the day' pressie to myself!

I used a plate to create a mask for the circle and stamped 'extra' flowers allowing some to fall off the edge of the card, I've coloured everything with DIs and used my favourite Visible Image sentiment.
I love these words, and they seem to fit well with todays events.

My son used his daily exercise yesterday to bike ride and come over for a 'garden distance coffee' - him outside sitting in the sun at the back of the garden and us inside the door, it's so strange when you have to keep your distance from your children,  how I would love a hug - but better safe than sorry.

Hope you're all staying safe and finding your own ways of coping.

The Place to be Happy

This month's theme at Art Journal Journey is  Geometric Shapes  chosen by Valerie and as I didn't enter last month I'm getting in nice and early this time.

My page has ink sprays, embossing paste and ink through the same AALL & Create stencil along with a blocks and squares stencil and of course my positive words, are cut into rectangles as well.

Thanks for calling in, stay safe.

Butterfly

Happy Friday!

I hope you're all staying as safe as possible and coping in these strange times.  I had my first online food shop delivered yesterday - I've never been excited by food shopping - but yesterday, it felt like Christmas!!

While I wait for a crafty package to arrive - now that IS something to get excited about - I dug out an old Inkylicious stamp to play along with Tag Tuesday's challenge of Bunnies and Butterflies.  I stamped the image onto a mop up tag and also stamped, coloured and fussy cut the butterfly again, to add as if it's about to land.

I don't know where this week has gone - and I'm certainly not getting all the 'extra' crafting time I'd planned by staying home, must organise better!!

Stay safe and have a great weekend.
