Perfect!

While trying to have a 'little' tidy I came across this sentiment in a magazine, so I 'saved' it for the bits box - as you do, but while working on something else, I saw this image (Crafty Individuals) and I think she has such a haughty look,  thought she was perfect for this sentiment.
A messy yellow background means that I can just scrape in a second entry at Art Journal Journey, where the theme this month is Yellow chosen by Rike.

Thanks for calling in, I've been such a bad blogger - just wish there was more hours in the day!

Spring Flowers

I've been having another play with my new wildflower stems, how gorgeous are these dies and so easy to colour with distress inks.    I embossed some core-dinations card with the Botanical EF and sanded it to enhance the pattern before layering my flowers.  I've added the smaller of the two Tattered Butterflies and used a pen nib for the body, which I rubbed with Bronze and Gold gilding wax, which has a nice sheen, but doesn't show in the photo.

Powder Your.......

Hello, it's time for another new challenge at Try it on Tuesday and this time we would like you to 'Powder Your...…….     In other words Use Powders in your project, this could be Embossing Powders, Mica Powders,  Brushos etc, just tell us what you use.

I've used Brusho Powders for my background, stamped part of one of the rose images from Tim Holtz Lady Rose set and then coloured this with Rose Red  and Leaf Green Brushos mixed with the Brusho Thickening Powder.  The sentiment was stamped with Archival and then heat set using Clear EP.  I've also added a little 2nd generation crackle stamping for interest.

The rest of the Design Team have some inspiration for you using a variety of  'Powders'  so please pop over to the main blog for all the details.

Have a great day,
Avril xx

Fresh as a Daisy

Hello, this month the theme at Art Journal Journey is Yellow chosen by Rike and although I always think it's such a happy colour, it's not one I use very often, but I do want to join in at least once a month.

My new Wildflower Stems arrived last week, so after a mammoth cutting session, I decided to use the daisy's especially as I saw Creative Stamping magazine and was tempted to buy it because of this quote, which gave me the idea for the fresh clean page.
I've got a couple of Journals on the go now, each so different, this one I'm calling my Bold Journal.

There are some fabulous entries at this challenge, well worth a look if you're into, or attempting to journal.

Thanks for calling in,
Have a great day, Avril xx

So pretty!

Hello, the craft room has been a bit quiet this week, but I've eventually managed another play with one of my new dies.  I loved seeing the samples from Creativation  and have cased one of the cards as I need a Birthday card for and older friends 80th Birthday at the end of the month.

I painted it with Distress Inks, which didn't take much doing and layered it over an Oxide inked background.  I've stamped and distressed the Tattered Butterfly, which was cut on a play night with my crafty friend Diane, (thank you)  layered this on some seam binding that was coloured with Peeled Paint.

A short post, but thanks for calling in.
Have a great weekend.

Romance

Hello, it's time for a new challenge at Try it on Tuesday and as Valentine's day is approaching  we're feeling Romantic.  It's up to you - if you send Valentines we love to see them, or it could be for a Wedding or Anniversary.

I've made a Wedding Anniversary card for a friend who's celebrating their Ruby Anniversary.  I've used one of the Found Relatives framed by a stencilled Cabinet card.  I've also fussy cut the roses from a TH set Lady Rose.

I am entering this at:
  Allsorts - Love

The rest of the Design Team have some great inspiration for you, so please pop over to the main blog, where you will also find all the challenge details.

Thanks for calling in,
