Winter Blues at Try it on Tuesday

We often associate Winter Blues with January and so that reflects the new challenge at Try it on Tuesday.

Although I certainly haven't got the 'blues' this month due to the arrival of the twins, I did enjoy using my new Pablo the Penguin to create a winter scene.  I don't normally do cutie, but this little guy just melted my heart and I couldn't resist and no doubt he will come in very handy for future Christmas cards!

The rest of the DT have some fabulous inspiration for you, so please pop over to the main blog where you will also find all the challenge details.

A short post today as I'm on babysitting duties as the new parents have a couple of errands to do,
Have a great day,
Avril xx

Mid Month Reminder for Stamping Sensations

Hello, it's time for some mid-month inspiration at Stamping Sensations where the challenge this month is Use Your Favourite stamp.

Favourite stamp - well that was a hard one as I have so many, especially flower ones, so it was nice to add some colour to this grey day.  An inky oxide background, stamped with this ALL & Create flower and a doodled frame.

Please pop over to the main blog where there's some fabulous inspiration from the rest of the DT.

Thanks for calling in

Sharing

I've been a little occupied lately - as two little bundles arrived in the early hours of 6th January, Teddy and Lucy, and I'm absolutely besotted!  DD and babies are all doing well and settling into a routine and their daddy was able to take holiday and paternity leave together so there's plenty of help on hand.

Before the babies were born DD asked me to make some dividers to organise their clothes in the wardrobe.  The nursery theme is Peter Rabbit, so I bought a couple of craft magazines that had Peter Rabbit stamps as it's main feature and put them to good use.

I watercoloured the images and used the Tim Holtz Tiny Alphabet die.  Something totally different for me but such a pleasure to do.

That's it for now, lots of catching up to do,
Have a great day, Avril xx

Uplifting/Positive Quote at Try it on Tuesday

At Try it on Tuesday  we're starting the year on a very positive note with our first challenge -  Uplifting or Positive Quote.

My journaling has been very neglected over the last couple of months, so on a positive note it was a good place to start.  Ink sprays in Old paper, Antique Linen and Tattered Rose for the background with some second generation stamping in Versafine Vintage Sepia.  My main images were stamped onto tissue paper and then coloured with distress crayons.  The quote is a Tim Holtz stamp.

I am joining in with Erika's theme over at Art Journal Journey - Favourite things - new favourite flower stamp.

Thanks for calling in, and if you hear a yell - it's just me - I'm waiting for news as the new arrivals are on there way!!!

Favourite Stamps at Stamping Sensations

Happy New Year! and it's the first challenge at Stamping Sensations - Favourite Stamps,  a great theme to get you started.

We have a fabulous prize from Penny Black this month and all the details are on the main blog

Picking a favourite stamp - well I've got so many, it was a hard choice but I settled on this Visible Image stamp and quote, another favourite, on a background made with Oxide Inks on Glossy paper.  Apart from loving the image, this stamp works with so many different backgrounds.  I've also stamped
an extra flower  on watercolour paper and fussy cut, picking out the Peacock feathers in the background to colour it.
The rest of the DT have some fabulous pieces so please pop over to the main blog.

I am entering this at Allsorts - Anything Goes

Thanks for calling in,
Avril xx
