Mid Month Reminder at We Love Stamping

 It's mid September and that means it's time for some mid month challenge inspiration at We Love Stamping, where the theme is Trees and Leaves or if you prefer there's always A/G.

I thought I would try and get ahead with a Christmas card.  I started with a circle aperture, masking off the bottom half with torn paper before inking my sky  and then stamping the fence from Cardio's Breezy Day set.   The green tree is from Penny Black's Wonder collection and the sentiment, which was heat embossed with silver is from Inkylicious.

Pretty Papers at TioT

Our new challenge at Try it on Tuesday is Pretty Papers - a good excuse to go rummaging through the paper box - I think this challenge should run all year round and then I might make a dint in the mountain!  Why did I buy so many when I never seem to use them?

I've got lots of Christmas papers and as Christmas cards seem to be appearing, a good opportunity to use some.  My image is an old Tim Holtz favourite which doesn't need much colouring, and a touch of red glitter for the holly berries and some Flowersoft for the fur on his hood.

Trees and Leaves at We Love Stamping

Our new challenge at We Love Stamping is Trees and Leaves.  We have 2 wonderful prizes for you, a $30 store voucher from Taylored Expressions and a stamp and stencil set from Buddley Crafts.  Just remember to be eligible to win, you must include real stamping on the front of your entry.

For my card I've used and old Clarity tree stamp and the sentiment is from Hero Arts, both stamped in black after I inked a simple background.

Emboss It

 

Our new challenge at Try it on Tuesday is Emboss It!

Apart from embossing a sentiment, it's a while since I did any Embossing, and even longer since I used my embossing folders.  I have a few 3D folders which haven't been used in a long while, in fact I had to 'experiment' with different plates to get the right combination.

I've used a TH Poinsettia 3D folder which I first swiped with Iced Spruce DI before running through my machine.  I coloured  the flowers and leaves with some old metallic rub-ons and added gold glitter to the centres.  The sentiment, which is an old Hero Arts wooden stamp was heat embossed using WOW Red Glitz powder.  Layering up on red glitter card and gold mirri card.  I always find using gold mirri card somehow alters the colours for a photo, this looks so much nicer in daylight than on here.
