Smell the flowers

As any regular visitors here will realise,  journaling is still relatively new for me, but the Flora and Fauna theme chosen by Jo over at Art Journal Journey has really inspired me to join in again.

I've used Oxide inks, applied with a blending tool, spritzed with water to activate, when dry, I've used a couple of stencils with Distress inks.  I stamped the Kay Carley flower heads onto watercolour card with Versamark and heat set with white EP and coloured with DIs, I decided where they would be placed and hand drawn the stems and leaves before attaching the flower heads and stamping the sentiments.

She's Got the Look

Hello, it's time for a new challenge at Try it on Tuesday and this fortnight the theme is 'She's Got the Look'.  so anything that's shows her style, face, eyes, it's up to you.

I created a  journal page using a stencil, it's quite large - this page is 6" x 8".  The page was covered with gesso and then sprayed with Tattered Rose Distress stain and dry brushed for a soft coverage.
After stencilling my Audrey, I used the Flourish stencil with Victorian Velvet DI, carefully avoiding the image.  The words are also from the same stencil.

The rest of the DT have some fabulous inspiration for you, so please pop over to the main blog where you will also find all the challenge details.

I'm entering this at the Library Challenge - Breakfast at Tiffany's

It's thick fog and damp here today after a lovely sunny weekend, it just shows you really do have to make the most of the weather when the sun shines.
Have a great day, whatever you're doing.

Plant Dreams

Hello, well things have been a little quiet around here due to the fine weather making me spend too much time in the garden, I always feel we've got to make the most of it.
Just as well I did, today has been so cold and grey with rain this morning, so a page in my journal to reflect the contrast of the colourful flowers blooming and the grey sky.
Journaling is quite new to me, but I love the freedom I feel just to 'do'
I am going to join the folks over at Art Journal Journey where Jo has set this months theme of Flora and Fauna.
Thanks for calling in and I'm going to make the most of the miserable weather we have in store for the next few days and spend time in my craftroom!

Destinations

Hello, it's time for a new challenge at Try it on Tuesday and the theme this fortnight is Destinations

I've made a page in my new journal and wanted to use a napkin but it wasn't quite long enough to fit the page before repeating, so I copied and scaled it up slightly onto copier paper.  I've used various old Tim Holtz stamps and a couple of stencils in the background, before gluing  it into the journal.

The rest of the Design Team have some fabulous inspiration for you, so please pop over to the main blog, where you will also find all the challenge details.

Thanks for calling in,

Flowers at Fashionable Stamping Chalenges

It was my turn to pick the new challenge at Fashionable Stamping this month and I chose Florals

I love this flower from the Tim Holtz Flower Garden set, but must admit I'm not so keen on the stems, so I tried a different arrangement.  I used watercolour paper and Peeled Paint for a watery wash base.
I fussy cut the flower heads after colouring with Distress Inks,  marked the base card where I was going to arrange them and then used Peeled Paint and Forest Moss to stamp some leaf sprigs.  I die cut some Sizzix Spring Greens and used a leaf stamp with Forest Moss to give some definition.  I used foam tape to attach the flowers and the die cut leaves.

There's some fabulous inspirational makes from the rest of the DT, so please pop over to the main blog where you will also find  details of our Sponsor,  InkArtDesigns, who is offering one lucky random winner a stamp from the shop.

I am entering this at Stamping Sensations - Close to Nature

Thanks for calling in today and now that the weather has returned to 'normal' after the mini heatwave, I need to do some catching up in the craft room after spending so much time in the garden - well that might have been summer! you just don't know.

Stencils/ Die cuts

Stencils/Die Cuts or  Both is the new challenge at Try it on Tuesday this fortnight, so lots of choice there.

I've made a journal page using a torn napkin, that came in some happy mail from my friend and blog DT Yvonne.  I've used a home made trellis stencil and then a brick one to create the background.  Next came a script stencil and to fill in the bottom some stencilled leaves.  I stamped a 'vase' from a Paperbabe stamp set that I won from Tracey a short while ago, I fussy cut this for my die cut lavender.  There's nothing nicer than the smell of lavender in the garden on a summer's day, so of course I had to use this sentiment from a Jofy set.

The rest of the DT have some great inspiration for you, so please pop over to the main blog for all the details.

I am entering this at Paperbabe challenge - Anything Goes
And a first for me, I'm linking to Art Journey Journal where the theme this month  Flora and Fauna
