All Tied Up

Hello and thanks for your visit today.
I don't know about you, but I love making flowers, but then when I make my card, I end up using smaller bought ones or the little paper clay roses and as I have a box full of die cuts and larger flowers, I have set myself a little challenge to use these up. I found a scrap of card the same colour as the flowers, so I've used it under the TH Mixed Media die cut. The  roses were shabbied up a bit with some Gesso and StarDust Stickles.  I've made a 'frame' with some string and added a little paper clay butterfly.  A little bit of stamping - and I'm 3 flowers less in the box!
My card is also a reminder that there's still 1 week left to join in with our Challenge at Try it on Tuesday, which this fortnight is 'In the Frame' - Hope you like my  'String'  frame.
I am entering this at:

Have a great week,

Recycle

Hello and thanks for visiting. Today sees the start of a new Challenge at Try it on Tuesday and for this fortnight our theme is 'Recycle'
I chose to use up some corrugated packaging card and a clothing tag to make my hanging
I peeled back the top layer of the packaging, so messy, and then  to 'glam' this up I randomly added some gold embossing powder.  My next layer was a piece of mop up card - which I stamped with the TH Papillion script, and again added the gold ep around the edges.  My tag was painted with some leftover cream emulsion paint, and rubbed with a baby wipe to take back some of the paint I then stamped with the butterflies, which were also stamped onto some leftover vellum.
I hope you will join us in this challenge to 'recycle' and should you need any inspiration, hop over to the main blog so see what the Team, including our two new members Sirkka and Pamellia have created, you won't be disappointed.
  I am entering this at:
Stamping Sensations - Things with Wings
Natalie and Amy's - Things with Wings
Butterfly challenge - Ugly Bugs Ball (any insect with wings can attend)

That's it for now, Take care

Tag Time at TioT

Hello and Welcome to another challenge at Try it on Tuesdays and this fortnight our theme is Tags - but it doesn't have to be just a Tag, as long as your project has a Tag, that's fine.
I've been playing again with the technique Tim shows for the June tag - I  used a Memory Box Texture Flourish stencil, and  my image was stamped onto a 'second generation' using water colour paper.  I used a water brush and lifted the colours from the girls face - Artistic Outpost,  then coloured her with Tattered Rose DI.  I added this to a tag that was  coloured with another  'second generation' but this time I used only one colour. The embossed layer is a TH Embossing folder used twice, for a longer effect.  Another paper clay pansy, coloured with a dry brush and Distress inks, to finish.
The rest of the DT have some fabulous creations to show, so please pop over to the main blog for all the details.

I am entering this at:
Emergency Crafters - Not a card
Really Reasonable  Ribbons- Anything but a Card

Enjoy your week, and thanks for visiting.

One for the Boys!

'One for the Boys' is the new challenge at Try it on Tuesday this fortnight, so that's anything for the 'boy' in your life from the very young to the not so young!
I made this card for my Son's birthday a couple of weeks ago, it's an old image, (Elusive Images) probably one of the first I ever bought and has been used before on  previous cards, but I do know he does like it, so it doesn't matter that it's used again - but differently, (my Son is an avid mountain biker and goes off road riding with a group of friends every week without fail - I try not to look at the pics of jumps they do on his FB page, the cuts/bruises I see are enough).
The background is similar to the one on the 'clocks' card from a couple of weeks ago and I used the same Spellbinders embossing folder, but the other side - to look like bicycle wheel  tread, the foil card, embossed with TH cogs, was given the same Alcohol Ink treatment and the cog had paint and embossing powder applied.  The sentiment is PaperArtsy.
My teamies have as usual, some great inspiration for you which you can see here  and as Fathers Day is fast approaching, it's a good opportunity to join in, and this fortnight we also have Dagmar joining us at Guest Designer,
I am entering this at:

Don't forget - It's in the Mail!

The theme this fortnight is 'It's in the Mail' at Try it on Tuesday, and  initially I couldn't make my mind up as to what to make, so I made two pieces.  My second, an altered envelope,  uses  this lovely Darkroom door stamp that was free with Craft Stamper a while ago.
My first step was to mask off an area for the address, then I stamped my butterfly post and masked that off.
I stamped 2 butterflies and masked them off too.  The envelope was then stamped with a script stamp and a small swirl before shading with Wild honey and Vintage photo Distress inks.
You still have one week left to join in the challenge and all details can be found here.

Enjoy the rest of your week,
Avril xx

'It's in the Mail' at Try it on Tuesday

Hi folks, yes It's in the Mail' and that's the challenge this fortnight over at Try it on Tuesday, where you will see we have some new Design Team members, so please pop over and and say 'hello'
I decided to make my little envelope and used papers from the Madam Payraud collection, which of course had to have a little distressing with Frayed Burlap.  My envelope started out as a strip of black card  29.5 x 8 cm.  I scored 5.5cm in from one side, cut the sides to make a flap, and then at 11.5cm in  from the other edge.  Used a Nesti circle to cut a 1/2 circle, before gluing the sides.

I made a little' address label' with some little element stamps from Crafty Individuals

And all tied up with some dyed string.

I am entering this at:
All Crafts challenge - Anything but cards
Crafting Musketeers - Anything but Square
  Moo-mania & More - Mail

My very talented teamies have some wonderful inspiration for this challenge, so please pop over to the main blog to take a look.

It's Springtime at Try it on Tuesdays

Its time for another challenge at Try it on Tuesday and this time its Springtime, as usual it's up to you what you create as long as you follow the theme.
For my tag/card I have used the Stampendous I Love Paris in the Springtime, image shaded with Distress Inks.  The base tag was coloured with the Marbled Stains technique, them overstamped with the TH Papillion script., such a shame most of it was covered up with an embossed vellum and french script from an old book.  I stamped the TH film strip and then cut paper images from the Madam Paurade papers.
My flower was cut from fabric using the Tattered Florals die.
It would be lovely if you could join us, and if you need any inspiration pop over the the main blog and you will also see the beautiful creation from our Guest Designer Margik.

That's it for me for the moment, so sorry I have been such a rubbish blogger of late, but 'life' just took over, hopefully normal service will resume soon.

I am entering this at:
  Ali-Craft - Spring
  Fantasy Stampers - Distress It
Craft for the Craic - Spring

Sweet Baby

Another Baby card - I actually made 4 over the weekend, and thought I would show this one as it's a Tent card, something I haven't made for a long time, and as it fits in with the current theme over at Try it on Tuesdays, it might give you a little inspiration if you would like to enter the challenge.  Also, if you pop over, you will see that we are having a DT call.

For this card I used PSX Moon Baby and nesti circles and scallop circles for the cuts.  To hide the join of the base fold, I added a piece of embossed card.
I am entering this at:
Addicted to Stamps - Fancy Folds

That's it for now, after these clean white cards, I feel as if I need to get inky.
