Mid post reminder for Silhouettes at TioT

Hello and thanks for visiting, I've set myself a  challenge this year - to play at journalling, I say to 'play'  - because it feels like 'playing' and also I don't really know what I'm doing,( and they're only single pages at the moment  but  I will make a folder for them - better than spoiling a book just yet)  but the online Creative Ink course did give me the push that I needed.
I've again taken inspiration from our challenge this fortnight at Try it on Tuesday which is Silhouettes - so out came Mr Umbrella Man, and of course he had to have raindrops - but the eagle eyed amongst you will notice that they look more like bombs, I kept thinking they didn't look quite right and it wasn't until I uploaded the photo that I realised they were upside down -  silly me!!  so warts and all as they say.
You still have one more week to link up to Tiot's challenge and you will find all the details here

Thanks for popping by and any comments you leave are really appreciated.

Cherish the Moments

I can't believe we're more than halfway through January and my aim of being more productive blogwise seems to be failing, so time to take matters in hand and try again!
I've used a PaperArtsy stamp that I've had for a while and never inked, shame on me as I think she's rather pretty and I think she's a girl who likes to enjoy herself and travel, so she has been layered on to some tickets  from  her journeys.  The background was made with Re inkers in Spun sugar and Tumbled glass with random stamping using the Correspondence stamps,  The flower, and every girl has a flower to cherish,  was made with the TH Tattered florals die.

Thank you for visiting,  and I'm off now to catch up on some visiting myself,
Have a great weekend,
Avril xx

Silhouettes at TioT

Hello, and welcome to the new Challenge at Try it on Tuesday this fortnight which is Silhouettes.
As usual, it's up to you what you make as long as we can see at least one Silhouette on your project.
I've used Ella Bella from IndigoBlu as she was feeling very neglected not having been inked up in quite a while! She was stamped in black and then I used Wilted Violet, Cracked Pistachio, Abandoned coral and Dusty concord for the background, and stencilled with Wilted violet. The main background used the same colours with a Flourish stencil, the flowers are the Tiny Tattered florals.
It would be lovely if you could join us and you will find all the details on the main blog, along with some wonderful inspiration from the rest of the DT.
I am entering this at:

Thanks for visiting, have a great week.

Thank You at FSC

Hello and welcome to Fashionable Stamping's first challenge of 2016, and it's Esther who chose the theme of  'Thank You'  -   what you create is up to you as long as  there's real stamping which follows the theme.
We have Flonzcraft as our sponsor and they are offering one lucky random winner a $20 spend in their online store.

For me, 'Thank You'  is often said with flowers, so I've used the Tim Holtz Flower Garden stamps. My background was stamped with a crackle stamp, 2nd generation Frayed Burlap and then somewhere in there there's a honeycomb stencil with Wild honey, over which I stamped the Jofy Mesh.  My flowers were stamped with black archival, heat embossed with clear EP and then fussy cut, coloured and edged with frayed burlap, before assembling my 'bouquet'.   I added a piece of honeycomb mixed media diecut.
The rest of the DT have some fabulous inspiration, so please pop over to the main blog, and you'll also find all the details.
I am entering this at:
  Crafty Catz - Flowers
  Allsorts - Ribbon and Lace

Enjoy the rest of your weekend.

Letters and Numbers for Try it on Tuesday

Hello and welcome to Try it on Tuesdays first Challenge of 2016 where the theme is 'Letters and Numbers'.

Regular visitors to my blog might remember that I did Marjie Kemper's online course 'Creative Ink' a few months back,  so with this as a starting point and the fact that this PaperArtsy Lady has been languishing in the drawer, uninked for a while, and her 'dream'  gave me the inspiration for this page.
I've used Cracked Pistachio, Abandoned coral and Wilted Violet for the background and the same inks for some background stamping and stencilling.  The main images were stamped with Archival Jet Black.
The rest of the DT have some wonderful inspiration for you, so please pop over to the main blog, and you will also find all the details there.
That's all for now, Thanks for visiting, I do appreciate it,

Memories of 1889

Happy New Year, I do hope you've had a lovely Christmas and enjoyed all the festivities, and now it's time to get back to normal.
I've not had much crafting or blogging time over the holidays till this afternoon, and  I've finally finished this card which had been sitting on my desk for a couple of weeks.  I've used a combination of Artistic Outpost Paperboy and Paris Exposition stamps with some careful masking of the 'gents' who should have been on the main image.  All colouring was done with distress inks, and my little flowers were made with the Tiny tattered florals.
I am linking this into Artistic Outposts Show us Your Art
Well that's all from me, but I'll be catching up with you over the next day or so.
