Lady in Blue

Hello, time to remind you of our challenge at Try it on Tuesdays which is Add a Photo and you still have one week left to enter.
For my card I have used a photo style stamp from Oxford Impressions - April in Paris.  My background  was made with the 'Shabby Chic' technique described by Tim Holtz in the CC Vol 1, page 49, why haven't I done this sooner,  love the effect.   My rose and ivy were paper and dipped in melted UTEE, the cameo is papercraft clay and coloured with Promarkers.

This is my last 'live' post for a couple of weeks as we are off on holiday to India to do the 'Golden Triangle' of Delhi, Agra and Jaipur. Lots of travelling and probably busy days, but something I have wanted to do for years.  I'm not sure what internet access we will have, so the next few posts are scheduled and I will catch up with you soon.

Heavy Metal

Hi Folks,

I thought I would share this card I made last week for future SIL's birthday.
I bought some metal foil tape last year, and used it with this Couture Creations EF, but that was as far as I got!   I decided this was a good start, especially when I was short of time,so I followed the Tim Holtz Riveted Patchwork technique from Compendium of Curiosities Vol 2 for the card base, the sentiment panel is from a Spellbinders EF, and a TH sentiment stamped and heat embossed with black EP. Another piece used up out of the 'need to finish' box.

I am entering this at:
Sugar Creek Hollow - Metal Mania
Hiding in My Craft Room - Embossing
My Time to Craft - Men Only
Raise the Bar - Anything Goes
Cards Galore - One for the Men
The Crafting Cafe - Anything Goes

Well that's it for now, hope you're all having a good Sunday.

Lets Get Inky at Try it on Tuesdays

Hi Folks,

Its time for a new challenge at Try it on Tuesdays and this time its 'Inky'.

I don't know about you, but I love playing with inks and just seeing where it take me, and this tag was no different.  I started with a white tag and used Tim's Marbled Stains technique, using Iced Spruce and Picket Fence and because I don't as yet have the Metallic stains I used a few sprays of Perfect Pearls which gave a gorgeous simmer in places.  I then started stamping the snowflake, first with Picket Fence, then Silver Paint Dabber, followed by PaperArtsy Snowflake Fresco Finish. Silver homemade Frantage for a sparkly border.

The next layer is Vellum, again stamped with the snowflake, first in Iced Spruce then Snowflake Fresco. This was then put through a crimper, before adding silver embossing. To give depth, I used an ink duster on the reverse, first with Evergreen Bough and then Festive Berries.  The main image is Inkadinkado, stamped on white card, coloured with DIs and Stickles, and again a silver embossed border.  The fivers were stained with Festive Berries and Evergreen Bough - you should have seen my hands - must remember to wear rubber gloves!!

I hope you will join us and show us your inkyness and if you need any inspiration, please pop over here to sew the rest of the DT's inky offerings.

Again a scheduled post - I hope everyone is well and safe.
