Anything Goes at FSC

Hello, it's the first challenge of 2019 over at Fashionable Stamping Challenges and we've got a nice easy one for you as Shirley has chosen  Anything Goes - as long as you include stamping as a focal point.

I've used Tim Holtz Glorious Bouquet and only stamped in part of the image with Black Versafine and then coloured with Distress inks.  The sentiment is from Visible Image.  I've added some subtle stencilling in the background using the TH Nordic stencil with Frayed Burlap.

The rest of the DT have some fabulous inspiration for you, so please pop over to the main blog, where you will also find all the challenge details, and details of our Sponsor Ink Art Designs who are offering one lucky random winner a stamp from the online shop.

Thanks for calling in, and as this is a scheduled post, I'll catch up with you  when I get back from my 'girly' break with DD.

Have a great week,

Winter

It's time for a new challenge at Fashionable Stamping and this month the theme is 'Winter'

I took advantage to make another Christmas card, again flat for posting.  I used a torn copy paper mask to create the hillside after stamping the log cabin from Artistic Outpost, in Potting soil archival ink.  I used Iced Spruce to stamp the trees and PS to stamp the little deer, the sentiment was heat embossed with Silver EP, and although difficult to see, there's lots of DecoArt Glamour Dust to creat that winter sparkle.

The rest of the Design Team have some wonderful inspiration for you, so please pop over to the main blog for all the challenge details and information about our Sponsor Ink Art Designs, who are offering one lucky random winner a shop from the online store.

I'm entering this at
  Stamping Sensations - Winter Sparkle
  Country View Crafts - Christmas
Craft Stamper - Take It Make It

Another schedule post, but I'll catch up with you soon.

Resisting for Christmas

It's time for a new challenge at Fashionable Stamping and for this month the theme is 'Resist' - and we'd love to see some form of 'resist' stamping.

November gave me the wake up call to start some Christmas cards and for this one I've used  'the Gent' from Tim Holtz Deco Christmas.  He was stamped in Black Archival ink and embossed with Clear EP.  Next I stamped the greeting with VersaMark and again heat embossed with Silver EP.
The snowflakes were then stamped with VersaMark and embossed with White EP.

I masked off the bottom section and then blended Tumbled Glass and Faded Jeans Distress Inks for the sky.  I then used a soft tissue to remove the ink from the embossed areas. before creating a little background scene with masking and stamping.

The rest of the Design team have some great inspiration for you so please pop over to the main blog, where you will also find all the challenge details.  We also have Ink Art Designs as our sponsor and one lucky random winner will receive a stamp from the online store.

I am entering this at

  Cards4Guyz - Winter Blues

This is a schedule post as we're due back from holiday tomorrow and I'll catch up with you soon.
Have a great day, Avril xx

Book pages

The new challenge at Fashionable Stamping is to use book pages, these can be stamped or real.

I've stamped this neglected Here Arts Poppy onto tissue paper that had been stamped with the Tim Holtz Papillion background stamp and then stamped again onto book pages with black Archival and embossed with Clear EP.  After colouring with Distress inks I fussy cut the heads and attached onto the Tissue.  The base layer is a piece of DP stamped with a script and ledger stamp.

The Design Team have some great inspiration for you, so please pop over to the main blog where you will find all the challenge details, along with details of our sponsor Ink Art Designs, who are offering a lucky random winner a stamp from their online store.  Don't forget, we are a stamping challenge so we must see real stamping that follows the theme.

For my card, I've a mop up background using Tyvek.  My quote is from Visible Image, stamped in Black Versafine.  The peony image is from Paperbabe, it's stamped onto water colour card and coloured with Distress Inks and fussy cut, along with some of the leaves from the set.

It's a Bugs Life at FSC

It's time for a new challenge at Fashionable Stamping and this time we would like to see 'Bugs'.  You can opt for creepy crawlies, butterflies, bees or dragonflies included.

I've used the Tim Holtz large butterfly from the Perspectives set, stamped fussy cut  and coloured with Distress inks.  I added Glossy Accents to the body.

I've been seeing lots of gorgeous cards using the new 3d embossing folders, which prompted me to use one of my old ones,  I've embossed black cardstock through a TH folder and then blended Shaded Lilac Oxide ink over the top.  I stamped 'Special'   from the Postal set of stamps with Shaded Lilac and clear embossed.  The layered sentiment is from Artistic Outpost.

The rest of the DT have some fabulous inspirations for you, so please pop over to the main blog where you will also find all the challenge details of our sponsor Ink Art Designs.

I do Like to be beside the Seaside!

It's time for a new challenge at Fashionable Stamping and this month the theme is  Seaside.  We have Ink Art Designs as our sponsor and the Random Winner will receive a stamp from the online shop, but remember you need to use 'real' stamping to qualify.

For my seaside piece I decided on a little 3D shadow box card.  A few weeks ago Autumn made a couple and gave a little tutorial on her blog, here.   I've adapted this to use my Bigz Cabinet card die to cut the frame.  I've used Crafty Individual stamps, attaching my sunbathing beauty on the second frame.

The rest of the DT have some great inspiration for you so please pop over here.

I'm entering this at Stamping Sensations  - Anything Goes

Thanks for calling in and I hope you have a great day.

Flowers at Fashionable Stamping Chalenges

It was my turn to pick the new challenge at Fashionable Stamping this month and I chose Florals

I love this flower from the Tim Holtz Flower Garden set, but must admit I'm not so keen on the stems, so I tried a different arrangement.  I used watercolour paper and Peeled Paint for a watery wash base.
I fussy cut the flower heads after colouring with Distress Inks,  marked the base card where I was going to arrange them and then used Peeled Paint and Forest Moss to stamp some leaf sprigs.  I die cut some Sizzix Spring Greens and used a leaf stamp with Forest Moss to give some definition.  I used foam tape to attach the flowers and the die cut leaves.

There's some fabulous inspirational makes from the rest of the DT, so please pop over to the main blog where you will also find  details of our Sponsor,  InkArtDesigns, who is offering one lucky random winner a stamp from the shop.

I am entering this at Stamping Sensations - Close to Nature

Thanks for calling in today and now that the weather has returned to 'normal' after the mini heatwave, I need to do some catching up in the craft room after spending so much time in the garden - well that might have been summer! you just don't know.

It's Springtime!

The new challenge at Fashionable Stamping this month is 'Springtime'  and I don't know about you, but I can't wait for warm sunny days and spring flowers!

I started with a background of  Broken China and Twisted Citron Oxide inks sponged onto the card, spritzed with water and then sprinkled with PaperArtsy  Slime Infusions and Prussian Blue Brushos.
I stamped the PA flowers directly onto the card and coloured the stems with Distress Markers.  The flower heads were also stamped onto watercolour paper coloured and fussy cut.  The sentiment was stamped and embossed with Clear EP.

There's some fabulous inspirational makes from the rest of the DT, so please pop over to the main blog where you will also find  details of our Sponsor,  InkArtDesigns, who is offering one lucky random winner a stamp from the shop.

One for the Girls

It's time for a new challenge at Fashionable Stamping Challenge and this month it's 'One for the Girls' chosen by Dot.

I don't know about you, but I've been very aware that I neglect a lot of my older stamps, even though they were 'must haves', so for this challenge I've dug out an old Dark Room Door 'Chocolatier' set and repeatedly stamped the Chocolate shop for the background, along with one of the quotes.  For the main image  I've stamped 'Valerie' from IndigoBlu, masked her and stencilled a background  with Victorian Velvet Distress ink.  I've used VV, direct to paper for the mats and died the vintage seam binding.  As I was using stamps that had been neglected, I added a feather from the bits box.

There's some fabulous inspirational makes from the rest of the DT, so please pop over to the main blog where you will also find  details of our Sponsor,  InkArtDesigns  who is offering one lucky random winner a stamp from the shop.

I am entering this at Country View Crafts - Anything But Cute

Enjoy the rest of the weekend,

Anything Goes with Stamping at FSC

What could be better than an Anything Goes with Stamping challenge to kick off the first challenge of the New Year at Fashionable Stamping.

I've used Dancing Woman stamped with Black Versafine onto a piece of Tyvek that had been used to line my spray box, I love how you still see the fibres  showing through.  When the image was dry, I used a fine paint brush with clean water, painting over the skin areas and flowers,  then dabbing with a tissue to remove the stain.

Matting and layering, but still keeping it flat for the post.

There's some fabulous inspirational makes from the rest of the DT, so please pop over to the main blog where you will also find  details of our Sponsor, InkArtDesigns who is offering one lucky random winner a stamp from the shop.

I'm going to enter this at:
  Allsorts - No Patterned paper
Addicted to Stamps - Clean and Simple

Time Waits for No Man at Fashionable Stamping

Hello,  this is a scheduled post as I couldn't miss telling you about the new challenge at Fashionable Stamping and for this fortnight Shirley chose the theme of  'Time Waits for No Man'

I've used two old Crafty Individual stamps for my card.  I stamped the Gent and cogs stamp directly onto an Oxide inked background, masked the image before stamping the clocks label as a background.  I also stamped the image onto white card, fussy cut the gent and then using Versamark and Clear EP, heat embossed.  The sentiment was printed on the computer and coloured with the Oxides.

The rest of the team have some great inspiration for you, so please pop over to the main blog, where you will also find all the challenge details.  We have InkArt as our sponsor who are offering one lucky random winner a stamp from their online store.

Use Your Inks at Fashionable Stamping

Hello, it's time for a new challenge at Fashionable Stamping and this time Dot has chosen 'Use Your Inks' and you can use them anyway as long as you use them to stamp as well.
The prize for the Lucky random winner will be a stamp from our Sponsor Ink Art Designs.

For the background of my card I took inspiration from Brenda who made this tag a while ago.  I loved the background, and as I've had this stamp from Crafty Individuals for quite a while (un-inked), thought it might be something to try for my  'inky'  piece.  I used Antique Linen, Tumbled Glass and Shaded Lilac  and Stormy Sky DIs and spritzed and dripped with water.   Then stamped randomly using two colours,  I used Frayed Burlap and Dusty Concord.

My butterfly was stamped with Black Archival and I watercoloured with Fossilized Amber DI, when it was dry I applied a little Frosted Lace stickles and rubbed over with my finger, which just left a feint shimmer.  I decided on the position of  the butterfly and then stamped the antennae with black so that I didn't have to fussy cut this part.  I masked off part of the sentiment and again stamped with the two inks.

The base layer was distressed with inks and then a script stamp using Frayed Burlap.

The rest of the Design Team have some wonderful inspiration for you, so please pop over to the main blog, where you will also find all the challenge details.

I am entering this at:
Penny Black and More - All Creatures Great and Small
  Stamping Sensations - Anything Goes
Emerald City Crafts - Anything Goes

And just for fun - I decided to used similar colours to Brenda's tag, love how this turned out too.

Thanks for calling in, have a great day,

Feminine and Fashionable

Hello and thanks for calling in today, it was my time to pick the theme this month at Fashionable Stamping Challenges and I chose 'Feminine' and if you like the theme, you still have time to enter.

As it was my theme, I decided to add another piece using some new  Stampendous Andy Skinner Shabby Chic stamps. Again I've printed out a label I found on the internet, re sized and then stamped the corset image in the center.

The box was left over from my favorite mint tea bags, was covered with a mix of Distress paints using a dry brush. I did some second generation  stamping with some of the other labels from the set
giving a worn vintage look to the box.

A few Sizzix Tiny tattered roses and leaves  and a pretty bow to complete.

You still have time to enter the challenge and you can find all the details here.

Have a great day,
Avril xx

Make it Feminine at FSC

Hello, time to tell you about the new challenge at Fashionable Stamping and for this month it was my turn to pick the theme which is 'Make it Feminine'

A while back I printed off a couple of frames from the internet and this one was just right size for IndigoBlu's  ' Elsie' .  I made a background with lots of water and Oxide inks Fossilized Amber and Broken China.  I stamped the Stampendous  Blossom Spray with Fossilized Amber and then lightly coloured the leaves and blossom using a rolled up blending sponge with Peeled paint and Worn Lipstick.  The wildflower die cuts were coloured with DIs.

We have InkArt Designs as our sponsor for this challenge and they are offering one lucky random winner a stamp from their shop, and don't forget there's also a picked Top 3.  For all the details, please pop over to the main blog.

Again, a scheduled post,  and if I haven't visited lately, I'll be around later in the week.

Favorite Things at FSC

Hello, today sees the start of a new challenge over at Fashionable Stamping Challenges and for this month Leanne has chosen 'My Favorite Things' - but it's from the Sound of Music, so anything from the first verse, for all the details please pop over to the main blog.
We have Flonzcraft as our Sponsor and they are offering one lucky random winner a $20 spend in their online store.

This was a challenge for me as I don't have much in the way of Rose stamps, so this  Rose was fussy cut from a Noor Design stamp with a Postcard background.  I've used watercolour paper for the Rose and the background.  My raindrops and sentiment are Inkylicious stamps, and I've added Glossy Accents to the raindrops too.

The rest of the DT have some great inspiration so please pop over and take a look.

Have a lovely Sunday, whatever you're doing, I'm off to a local craft show as I need some extra storage for the Distress Oxide inks, well that's my excuse!
