Time Flies at TioT

Hi Folks,

Its time for another challenge at Try it on Tuesdays and this time its 'Time Flies'.  We are again sponsored by Really Reasonable Ribbons with a $15 voucher for their online store.
For my card I had to keep it fairly simple as we are in the middle of major re-decoration,( more about that later).  I embossed the TH Clocks onto white canvas as I couldn't find my white linen card - good job the canvas was reduced in a certain German Supermarket. The sentiment is Stampendous, inked with Dusty Concord and embossed with Clear EP. The TH clock die cut was coloured with chalks and the outer cut was raised with foam pads, flowers from stash and a Computer sentiment.  The rest of the DT have some amazing projects, so please pop over here to take a look.

Life, hopefully, should be returning back to normal, just a few jobs to do in the revamped 'craft room' and then I will be able to unpack and find everything!!!  Unfortunately for me, I came last in the decorating rota, which meant 'my' room became the storage hold, and although I am a messy crafter, I couldn't craft in such upheaval, but now that DD has finally moved her mountain of  'a few things left'  from the summer, the 'new spare room' was priority.
'Hello' to my new follower, so lovely to see you, and hopefully I will be able to do some blog visiting and do a catch up with all your lovely crafty makes.

I am entering this card in:
  Sweet Stamps - Embossing Folder/Die(s)/Stamp - use all 3
Crafty Calendar - Love & Marriage
Make it Monday - Anything Goes

Thats it for now, and thanks for looking,

Avril xx

Heavy Metal

Hi Folks,

I thought I would share this card I made last week for future SIL's birthday.
I bought some metal foil tape last year, and used it with this Couture Creations EF, but that was as far as I got!   I decided this was a good start, especially when I was short of time,so I followed the Tim Holtz Riveted Patchwork technique from Compendium of Curiosities Vol 2 for the card base, the sentiment panel is from a Spellbinders EF, and a TH sentiment stamped and heat embossed with black EP. Another piece used up out of the 'need to finish' box.

I am entering this at:
Sugar Creek Hollow - Metal Mania
Hiding in My Craft Room - Embossing
My Time to Craft - Men Only
Raise the Bar - Anything Goes
Cards Galore - One for the Men
The Crafting Cafe - Anything Goes

Well that's it for now, hope you're all having a good Sunday.

Anything with wings at Alphabet Challenge

Hi Folks,

Its time for another Alphabet Challenge and this time its 'A' and we're asking for Anything - With Wings, so a nice easy one to start the Alphabet with.
For my DT piece I have used the JustRite Background Stamp.  I had a little play a while before Christmas and did a few pieces with the 'Caught in Crystal' technique, and the pieces have been waiting to be used. This one was matted onto black and then cream cardstock.
I stamped an extra butterfly on acetate, which was coloured on the reverse with Treasure Gold, and the organza ribbon was given the heat treatment to make it shrivel!
The rest of the DT have sone wonderful inspiration for you, so please pop over here to take a look.

I am entering this at:
  Charisma Cardz - Anything Goes
Divas By Design - Love & Romance
  Anything Goes - Vintage/Shabby Chic
Simon Says Stamp & Show - Anything Messy
Pretty Little Ribbon Shop - Anything Goes
  Tuesday Throwdown - Anything Goes

Thats it for now, have a great weekend whatever you're doing.

For Your Eyes Only

Hi Folks,

Its time for another challenge at Try it on Tuesdays, and this time Its All About the Eyes -  Blue, Brown Green, Big or Small - as long as they are a feature on your creation.  We have a new Sponsor for this month - Really Reasonable Ribbons - who are offering our winner a $15. gift cert to spend in their online store

For my piece, I have used an Inkylicious stamp for my main image which was torn and  layered onto a torn CB 'Textile 'embossed mat, the background is also embossed with the same folder.  This card was quite difficult to photograph - I say that because apart from her face, all distressing is Tumbled Glass and Vintage Photo, but somehow it looks quite green!  I felt my card did need a sentiment - sometimes I don't add them and just wait till I decide who its for, anyhow - the words I felt although a little 'James Bond' were also suitable for Love and Valentines, that is until DD came to visit and said - "That's the name of a Strip Club in Newcastle"  .......so, If you live in Newcastle this isn't an invitation!!!
I added a shabby flower, inked and distressed with Tumbled Glass and V Photo!
As usual my very talented teamies have some wonderful inspiration for you, so please pop over here.

I'd just like to say 'hello' to my new followers, and 'Thank You' for being here.

I am entering this in:
Craft Your Passion - My Valentine
Creative Creations - It Must Be Love
Make It Monday - Anything Goes
Ooh La La - Love Story
Crazy4Challenges - Cards with Heart but no red or pink
  Anything Goes - Vintage/Shabby Chic

That's it from me, and thank you for all the lovely comments on my 'Bird' card,  I really do appreciate them.

Birds at Fashionable Stamping

Hi Folks,

Its time for another challenge over at  Fashionable Stamping and this time its 'Birds'

It seems ages since I crafted, as I've had a viral infection which left me so tired I just couldn't be bothered to do anything, so when I eventually made my DT piece I wanted to do something 'pretty'.  I don't have a lot of bird stamps, and when I've used my Tim Holtz Bird in the past its always ended up rather 'masculine',  this time I was determined it would be 'feminine'. After stamping the image I used the TH Floral Swirl and some grass stamps for a border. I used the Swirl, this time stamped in Tumbled Glass for the base card.  I embossed the image with a TH Bookframe EF before distressing with TG and Vintage Photo. The mat for the image is again the embossed Bookframe, but just distressed with the TG.  The small roses were made with the Tattered Floral dies smallest petals.
We would love you to join us this fortnight, and if you need any 'Bird'  ideas, my fabulous teamies have some great inspirations, so please pop over here.

I am entering this at:
Sugar Creek Hollow - Feathers or Fur
Crafty Ribbons - Anything Goes with Ribbon
Delightful Challenges - Think Spring (Pastel Colours)
  Forever Friends Challenge - Animals/Butterflies/Birds
  Happy Campers - Shabby/Chic
Divas by Design - Winged Things
  Ruby's Rainbow - Roses
  Penny's Paper-crafty - Ribbons & Bows

That's it for now, except to say 'hello' to my new followers, It's lovely to see you and I hope you will visit often.   Enjoy the rest of the weekend and I hope to do some catching up later.

ZigZags at Alphabet Challenges

Hi Folks,

It's the last letter -Z -  and ZigZags is the theme over at Alphabet Challenges.  I decided to go down the sewing route - zigzag stitches and a sewing themed card.  The backing was make using the Tim Holtz Haberdashery Set, and the pattern image was stamped repeatedly onto pink cardstock, the main image was also stamped onto pink card before being stitched to a brown mat. The Singer invoice is Crafty Individuals and the embossed sheet is TH ledger.  All distressing was done with Tattered Rose, Victorian Velvet and Spun Sugar. The flower is TH Tattered Florals, and stamped with Vintage Photo and a muslin backing. Pearl buttons and lace from stash.
We would love to see what ZzigZags you create, so please join us and if you need inspiration, the rest of the DT have lots to show.
I am entering this card in:
  In the Pink - Distressed
Charisma Cardz - Pink & Brown
Its All about the Vintage - Lace & Pearls
  TipTopTuesday - Lucious Layers

Hope you all have a great weekend, and I hope to do some catching up in Blogland, as hopefully the Internet problems we have had over the last 4 weeks have now been resolved. (Fingers crossed)
