Mail Time at FSC

Hello and welcome to another Fashionable Stamping Challenge and this time it's 'Mail Time', so anything with letters, postage stamps, postcards, its up to you, and as long as you include at least one 'real' stamp, we'd love to see you join us.  Again we have our wonderful sponsor Flonzcraft who are offering 1 lucky random winner a $20 gift cert to spend in their online store.

I decided to use this Crafty Individuals post card stamp. The background is Tumbled Glass DI, and then randomly stamped with various  postage cancellation stamps and Postcard headings. The gauze was dyed with DIs.
It sat on my desk for a couple of days 'needing' something - then DH said I should decorate our little Summer House as the painted walls look bare - so the idea was born and a trip to the beach was needed to make this......

The rest of the Design team have as usual produced some wonderful inspiration for you, so please pop over here to take a look.

 I am entering this at:
Crafty Individuals - Sea, Sun and Beach
Stampin for the Weekend - Anything Goes
Crafts & Me - Anything Goes
Crafting by Designs - Anything Goes

That's all from me, except to say, Enjoy the rest of your Sunday.

Little Angel at TioT

Hi folks,

I was a little behind last week and didn't manage to finish my DT card in time for the 'Angels & Demons Challenge at Try it on Tuesdays - mind you, I wasn't the only one !  It seems some of you are finding this a difficult challenge- so if you pop over here you will see more  mid week inspiration from some of the DT.

DD asked for a card for a friends little girl - and this little girl is so sweet, and just loves pink so it had to be this old Penny Black stamp 'Angel at Heart' - hope you like it!  The papers were a freebie with a magazine and the doily is Tim Holtz (2 pieces).  It was so sunny when I too this photo, but the middle paper is actually white with pink rosebuds!

I am entering this at:
In the Pink - Pink woith Flowers
ABC Challenge - Pretty in Pink
Heck of a Challenge - Bingo (diagonal - flowers, die cut and pearls)
Totally Papercrafts - Flowers and Bows

Just a quick one from me, and thanks for looking.

J for Jiffy at Alphabet Challenge

Its Friday again and  time for another letter over at Alphabet  Challenge and this time its 'J' for Jiffy as chosen by Marie, in other works Clean and Simple.

This couldn't be simpler - Tim Holtz image 'FairyTale Frenzy (have wanted this for ages and saw it at a good price on Ebay a couple of weeks ago) stamped in Black Archival onto pale pink cardstock, matted onto a black card.  It looked a bit too plain with the sentiment stamped one layer, so stamped again and cut out with a Nesti label  and smudged the edges with black ink.  Its a while since I did a CAS card, but I enjoyed the challenge.

I hope you will join us for this challenge, and if you need any inspiration, my talented teamies have some wonderful 'jiffy' makes, so please pop over here.

Well whatever you're doing this weekend, have a great one.

Masculine Project for Shernocky Crafts

Hi folks,

I don't know about you, but after a holiday I sometimes loose track of time in the month,  I had intended this project to be for Fathers Day inspiration but.........well that has been and gone!  So it's now for a 'male birthday card and gift.

In my June DT pack for Shernocky Crafts was some lovely jute trim and some PaperArtsey Fresco Finish paint in Taupe.  Taking that as a staring point, I cut a  2" piece of  jute, spread some paint onto a craft sheet and stamped a background onto some brown cardstock with paint.

Build up the pattern  by pressing the jute 'inked' with paint , randomly onto cardstock.

To keep all colours the same, I  painted a piece of cardstock with the Taupe for backings and also a border on my card base.
The jute was attached to the  painted  cardstock (with a Crafters Companion Tape runner, included in last months kit - it stuck really well and doesn't show), then adhered to the card, before adding the sentiment.
My image, started as one of the flower stamps (PaperArtsey Hot Picks HPXT02) stamped in Black Archival. I die cut and embossed it with a circle Nesti.  I then stamped with Versamark, and heat embossed with clear EP, twice, for a lovely glossy finish.  I cut a larger mat from the painted cardstock and heat embossed this too.

For the bookmark, I cut a square of cardstock 5" x 5" and scored this at 2 1/2"

Cut out one of the squares and, opposite the corner you have cut away, cut that square on the diagonal (if you wanted, you could also use some fancy scissors on this edge).

Apply d/sided tape to one square on the reverse, then fold and stick.  Decorate as required.

I used the same technique of heat embossing with one of the smaller flower stamps and a scalloped circle for a mat.  I also added an extra scalloped circle of brown cardstock for strength before attaching to my
bookmark.

Materials used
  PaperArtsy Hot Picks HPXT02
  PaperArtsFresco Finish - Taupe
Jute Trim    (All available from Shernocky Crafts)

Brown and White Cardstock
Versamark Stamp Pad
Clear Embossing Powder
Heat tool.

I am entering this in:
Crafting for all Seasons - One for the Guys
  Sisterhood of Crafters - Masculine
Crazy Amigo Challenge - Mens Cards
  Creative Creations - Masculine
Dream Valley Challenges - Fathers Day/Male theme

That's it for now,  and thanks for looking, I do appreciate it.  I am still trying to get back to normal with visiting your lovely blogs, but time is a bit limited at the moment as Wedding Invitations  are taking over a lot of my 'spare' time, so appologies if I miss any of your lovely creations.

Shernocky DT Post

Hello - it seems such a long time since I posted anything 'real-time', but I am  back to normal now after my break away - had a lovely holiday in Lake Garda, Italy.   I think Mr. Mojo missed the plane back as I couldn't seem to find him for a few days - but we're back together now, thank goodness!

I had a lovely package waiting for me when I returned - my DT pack from Shernocky Crafts, and such lovely goodies too.

The PaperArtsey stamps were shouting out to be made into flowers, so that was my starting point.
I stamped the three sizes onto tissue papers using Memento Rich Cocoa, cut them out and coloured them in sets, with Distress Inks Tattered Rose, Victorian Velvet and Spun Sugar.

They were then layered, scrunched and held together with a small stapler, before adding the Hobby House pearl brads, which were part of my DT pack last month.

I gave my lovely Hobby House Ribbon (again from last months pack) the 'heat' treatment for a vintage look.
Don't know if you have ever tried this on organza ribbon -  you make your bow then use your heat gun and gently heat the ribbon till it curls and shrivels - but be careful not to get too close as it will burn and you get holes - also use tweezers as it gets very hot!

I coloured a tag with Tumbled Glass, Tattered Rose and Bundled Sage DI's and then spritzed  with water - love this effect.

I added the image, which had been stamped onto tissue paper, and the outline torn off, using watered down PVA, when dry I gently distressed with inks to 'blend' it in.  The words were stamped onto vellum, torn and distressed with Vintage photo DI.  My tag was matted onto brown cardstock before I layered my flowers onto gauze which was dyed with DIs

If you live in the Manchester/Cheshire area, the store is definitely worth a visit as they stock a fabulous selection of craft supplies and have a huge vintage range too. They also run workshops at weekends, just wish I lived closer!!

Products used:
  PaperArtsey Hot Picks HPXT02
  Hobby House Ribbon
Hobby House Pearl Brads - All available from Shernocky Crafts

  I am entering this in:
Crafting Musketeers - Used a Stamped Image
Make It Monday - Anything Goes

Thats it for now, I need to do some catching up in Blogland and see what everyone has been up to!

For the Man in your Life

Hi and welcome to another challenge at Try it on Tuesdays and this time we would love to see something 'For the Man in Your Life'.  For the month of June we have a new sponsor - Dilly Beans.

For my piece I used a metal foil sheet for the main panel, embossed with a Couture Creations folder, which I sanded and then painted with black Adirondack, rubbed back when almost dry. For the colour on the balloon, I used Promarkers, which are Alcohol based. The back panel is black card embossed twice with a Spellbinders folder and then rubbed with silver metallic rub ons. The riveted sentiment panel was cut from the same EF.
My wonderful teamies have again produced some amazing inspiration, so please pop over here and take a look, you won't be disappointed.

I am entering this in :
Creative Craft Challenges - For the Fellas
  Tuesday Throwdown - Embossing
Shopping our Stash - No patterned paper
The Crafting Cafe - Here Come the Boys

Tag Time!

Hi and welcome to another challenge at Fashionable Stamping and this time the theme is 'Tag Time'
We are again sponsored by Flonzcraft who are offering one lucky random winner a $20 gift certificate to spend in their online store.

I decided on a double tag, which meant I could get dark and inky on the bottom tag before embossing and highlighting with Treasure Gold.  The top tag was given a similar treatment, but not so dark, I added an extra butterfly stamped on Acetate with Stazon  to the stamped image.  The words are stamped on Vellum  (think I need to use this more often) and inked around the edged with Peacock Feathers, muslin and ribbon were also dyed.  The flowers are Tim Holtz Tattered Floral Strip, I love this die, you can use  up lots of scraps of paper for the flowers - now I know why I kept all the scraps!
My talented teamies have some fabulous inspiration so please pop over here to have a look.

This is a schedule post, and I will catch up with you soon.

I am entering this in:
Anything but a Card - Dust it off  (leftover scraps of paper)
Eclectic Ellapu - Anything with Wings
  PanPastels - Tag It
