Nicecrane Butterflies

Hi and thanks for taking time to visit today, because if you're like me, time is often short, so much so that this card wasn't finished on time to be some mid challenge inspiration for the challenge at TioT which is 'Things with Wings'.
I have used a Nicecrane image 'Colourful Spring Butterflies' which was printed onto some Linen card, and also some Vellum.  These butterflies are so pretty and colourful, but I wanted a muted vintage look, so everything has been shaded with Vintage Photo distress ink, and then because I also wanted it to be feminine, I added Tattered rose to the edges.  My butterflies were fussy cut from the vellum, and before adding these I 3rd generation stamped with a script stamp over the image. in Frayed burlap.  My background layers are stamped with the same ink.  I dyed some vintage seam binding with Tattered Rose to complete the feminine touch.

That's it for now,   hope you're all having a good week.

Childs Play at FSC

It's time for another fortnightly challenge over at Fashionable Stamping, and this time it's ' Childs Play'. We also have Flonzcraft as our sponsor, who are offering one lucky random winner a $20 spend in their online store.
I don't often do cutie cards, so this made a lovely change for me, and my crafty friend Diane, let me borrow this LOTV stamp and  her die to cut the banner.  My papers were freebies with some magazine ages ago.
The rest of the DT have some great and varied inspiration for you, so please pop over to the main blog for all the details.  However, do remember we are a stamping challenge and we do need to see that the stamping is the focal point on the project and that this must follow the theme.
I am entering this at:
Crafts 4Eternity - Bunting and Banners
Simply Create Too - For a Child
  Allsorts - Time for Tea

Before I go, I would just like to say 'hello' to my new follower,  it's lovely to see you.
I hope you are all enjoying this lovely weather, although for me sometimes it's been a bit too hot! but mustn't complain as we all know, it doesn't last too long.  Enjoy the rest of your weekend.

Things with Wings at Try it on Tuesday

Time for another challenge at Try it on Tuesday and for this fortnight we would like to see 'Things With Wings'
I decided to alter a wooden butterfly that I bought a while ago, I actually got 3 different sizes and this is the medium one.  I gave it a coat of gesso and then used a paper napkin, then dry brushed with  Snowflake Fresco paint.  I did a little random stamping with an Inkylicious script stamp and Frayed Burlap DI.  My butterflies are from Nicecrane - Colourful Spring Butterflies 3, and were printed onto vellum before being fussy cut.
As usual, all the details along with some fabulous inspiration from the rest of the team can be found here.

I am entering this at:
  Altered Eclectics - Anything Goes
Rhedd's Creative Spirit - Anything Goes
Tando Creative - Come Fly with Me
Craft my Life Challenge - Anything Goes but no cards

That's it for now, apart from to say 'hello' to my new followers, it's great that you want to follow me on my crafting journey, and I hope you will pop in often.  Enjoy your week.

Cherish!

Just thought I'd show a little box that I've altered with some music paper, and some coffee dyed lace.
Do you like my rose!  I am booked for a Workshop with Hels Sheridan using the Melt Pot,  and DH said it was no good doing the workshop if I didn't have a Melt Pot, so he bought me one for my Birthday!  I only had a small amount of UTEE, but couldn't wait for more to arrive, so only made a couple of things, this rose, using a silicone mould, being one of them,  I added some Lilac embossing powder and this is the result.  When it was cold I used a little gilding wax to the edge of the petals.  My little leaves are actually white paper clay, coloured with Distress ink and then rubbed with a small amount of Glossy Accents.
I decorated the inside and added an image from Nicecrane Designs, called All Seasons Hats,  which I printed out in Black & white, matching the music paper.

That's it for now,  hope you're having a good weekend.  I'm still trying  to to do some catching up with blogland after my few days away.

Lace at Alphabet Challenge

Time for another Alphabet Challenge and this time our letter is 'L' .
I have used a Flonzcraft stamp and quote coloured with Distress inks, and layered onto a nesti die cut, which was shaded with Victorian Velvet. For the card base  used a Stampendous Cling Garden Background stamp in Victorian Velvet and then brushed Bronze Perfect Pearls over it.
It would be lovely if you could join us for this 'Lace' challenge, and the rest of the DT have some great inspiration for you so please pop over to the main blog.
We had a lovely time at the wedding and the weather was beautiful and because it seemed like a lot of travelling, we stopped at Stratford upon Avon for a few days on the way home.

Well,  that's it for now, I need to do some more catching up in blogland.

Have a great weekend,
Avril xx

OMG!

I know, I can here you saying this image is supposed to be 'Here no Evil, See no Evil and Speak no Evil'  but to me it says OMG! the look of wonderment on this little girl's face is so cute.So I decided to create a Birthday card of disbelief!   The image is from Nicecrane Designs and is called A Child Garden of Verses.
I printed it out onto Hammer card, masked the image and used  Tim Holtz Schoolhouse Stencil with Tumbled Glass. My sentiment was computer generated.

I am entering this at:

Deep Ocean Challenge - Add a Sentiment

That's it for now, thanks for your visit, and have a great weekend.

Colours of Summer at Try it on Tuesdays

Time for another challenge at Try it on Tuesday - yest those weeks do fly by - can't believe it's over a week since I was last here!  but I'm back with this new challenge which is 'Colours of Summer'.
I made a a little hanging and took my inspiration from the fact that I bought this Imagination stencil a couple of months ago and it needed to be used.  I used a piece of Printer Canvas, and applied  embossing paste through the stencil, and although at this stage it wasn't coloured, thought it might look a bit flat, so decided to stamp an Inkylicious spot stamp with Versamark and clear embossed, to act as a 'resist'  I used PaperArtsy Mermaid and Guacamole Fresco paints for the background.  My flowers were stippled with Distress inks through the stencil, and gilding wax for the butterfly and dragonfly.  The sentiment is IndigoBlu, and isn't as feint as it looks in the photo.
The rest of the DT have some very different interpretations of this theme, so why not pop over to the main blog to take a look.
Sorry to have been such a bad blogger lately,  I just seem to be catching up and then it 'all goes to pot' again!
Anyhow, before I go, I would just like to say 'hello' to my new followers, lovely to see you.

I am entering this at:
