Play Day Tag

Hello and thanks for your visit today.
A couple of weeks ago while doing a DT piece,  I took time out to play and make a few background tags with DecoArt Crackle paste and stencils and apart from using one for Elsie, they have sat in a little pile on my desk,  So today, with a couple of hours for a little play, I delved into the bits box and this is the result with  a few stamped tickets and film strip topped off with a Tim Holtz photoboth picture. My words for this romantic couple are from the TH 'Time is a Companion....' sentiment.
I am entering this at Country View Crafts - Crackle

After a lovely day, we've got a very wet evening - at least it's saved me one job today, no need to water the garden tonight!

IBelieve I Can Fly is the New Challenge at TioT

Hello, it's time to tell you a out the new challenge at Try it on Tuesday, which this fortnight is  I Believe I Can Fly.
I've used an old stamp which  I think is from  Lost Coast Designs,  along with the sentiment from another stamp.  My butterfly lady was stamped with Potting soil Archival, I stamped her butterfly again and coloured it with Peacock feathers Distress ink and a touch of Tarnished Brass stain and covered it in Glossy Accents.  For the base layer, I used DecoArt Crackle paste through a flourish stencil and when it was dry I sprayed with Antique Linen and Vintage Photos Distress sprays.  I stamped the newsprint and script with Potting soil and along with the vintage music sheet, they were all distressed using VP.  For a pop of colour I added little butterflies which were coloured with Peacock feathers and again coated with GA.
The rest of the team have some wonderful and very varied inspiration for you, so please pop over here, where you will also find all the details.

Thanks for visiting today, I do appreciate it.

Vintage Dream

Hello and thanks for popping by, today, it's the turn of IndigoBlu's Valerie to make her debut, if you missed Elsie, you can find her here.
For the card base, I've used Ranger Transparent Gloss Texture paste through a Flourish stencil on one side and on the other I used Bundled Sage, before colouring with Victorian Velvet, Bundle Sage and Tumbled Glass Distress inks. Valerie was shaded lightly with Spun Sugar and Victorian Velvet DIs. The sentiment is from Crafty Individuals.  The rose was made with the Tattered Florals die.
Hope you're having a good week and not shivering in this chilly weather, here in the N.E. it feels more like November than 'Flaming June', the only good thing about it is I've tidied the craft stash, which wouldn't have got done if the sun was shining.............so, if it's miserable weather tomorrow I've a nice tidy desk to work on.

Beautiful Blooms at FSC

Hello, It's time for a new challenge at Fashionable Stamping and for this month the theme is Beautiful Blooms chosen by Claire.  We have Flonzcraft as our sponsor who are offering one lucky random winner a $20 spend in their online store.
I decided to use those lovely Cone flowers from the Tim Holtz Flower Garden rubber stamps.  They were stamped in black Archival and then heat set with Clear EP,  I coloured with Distress markers and inks before fussy cutting.  My background was the wrinkle free distress using Tumbled Glass, Spiced Marmalade and Tea Dye DIs. My favourite Papillion script was stamped with Frayed Burlap and then some stenciling with Tumbled Glass and Vintage Photo.  I mounted the flower heads with 3D foam pads to add some dimension, before adding the  sentiment which was stamped on a piece of the background card.
The rest of the DT have some  gorgeous makes to inspire you, so please pop over to the main blog .
Just remember, we are a stamping challenge and must see that the main stamping follows the theme
I  am entering this at:
Stamps and Stencils - Floral Frenzy.
Take it Make It Challenge - Let's Get Inky
Penny Black and More - Flower Power
Don't know about you, but I made the most of last weeks sunshine, so glad I did as it's gone!   but the good side of the dull weather is that I'll make the most of it at my craft desk and catch up on blog visiting
Have a great day whatever your weather.

It's All About Him at TioT

Hello, and thanks for popping in today as we see the start of a new challenge at Try it on Tuesday, the theme this fortnight is 'It's All About Him' and considering that Fathers Day will soon be with us, it could be a great opportunity to get organised.
I've  altered a box and given it a masculine look.  I  used Embossing paste with a script stencil on the sides and top and added my embellishments before priming it with Gesso.  I used PaperArtsy Fresco Finish in Taupe and French Roast to paint, removing some of it with a baby wipe I highlighted the edges and embellishments with Treasure gold.

It wasn't a particularly strong box, so I made a 'liner' from corrugated card for strength, and covered this with some papers,
The rest of the DT have some great inspiration, so please pop over to the main blog for all the details

Have a great day,

Timeless

Hello, and thanks for your visit today.  As regular visitors will know, I've always been a sucker for vintage and vintage ladies and when I saw the new release of Valerie and Elsie from IndigoBlu, I was sorely tempted, but resisted, as I do have a few and some do need inking up, so neglected!  Anyhow a few weeks ago Shirley from FSC did a couple of pieces using them and, well .....
Elsie is having her first outing, stamped onto tissue, torn and layered onto a tag from a play day with DecoArt crackle paste.  I've used Antique linen and Vintage photo Distress sprays which settled beautifully into the cracks.  My little flowers are the tiny tattered florals.
I am entering this at:
  Creative Artiste - Anything Goes

We actually had some sunshine late yesterday, so let's hope there's a bit more today, fingers crossed.
