Hearts and Flowers at Try it on Tuesday

Hello.....slightly late as I didn't realise I hadn't organised this post as is usual with DT work,  I've had such a horrible cold and haven't even looked at my blog for almost 2 weeks, but I'm here now to tell you about the latest challenge at Try it on Tuesday which is, yes, you've guessed... Hearts and Flowers.

Fortunately my DT piece was made a few weeks ago.
I've had these little wooden hearts for a couple of years, so as part of the 'intention' of using up stashed away items, this one got a make over.
Gesso, embossing paste through  a script stencil and then a coat of Antique Linen Distress paint. When it was dry I used my finger with PaperAtsy Fresco Finish in Taupe to distress.
My little bouquet  was made with the Tiny Tattered Florals.
The rest of the DT have some wonderful inspiration for you, so please pop over to the main blog for all the details.

Thanks for visiting and I'll to catch up with you but first of all I must find Mr Mojo, haven't seen him since this cold arrived - wonder if he's gone into hibernation!!

Anything But Square

Hello, it's time to tell you about the new challenge at Try it on Tuesday which for this fortnight is Anything But Square

I started out with an oblong wooden box, removed the lace and painted with Gesso.
and then embossing paste through a Flourish Stencil.  I also cut a piece of heavy card to cover the glass, this was also embossed.
I used Black Gesso to roughly cover the whole box before dry brushing with Adirondack Silver paint and lightly wiping with a baby wipe to remove some of the paint to allow the black to show.

The inside was also dry brushed with the silver paint and lined with a grey/mauve/cream pattered paper, (although this looks brownish in the photo, it is a grey background)

The rest of the team have some wonderful inspiration for you, so please pop over to the main blog for all the details.

Thanks for your visit, I do appreciate it, especially as I've been busy with DT work - more of that to follow,

Winter or Spring at FSC

Hello and welcome to the first Challenge of 2017 at Fashionable Stamping and it's a very seasonal one 'Winter or Spring'.  For this challenge we have Flonzcraft who are offering one lucky random winner a $20 spend in their online store.
We haven't seen any snow - yet - this winter, so I decided to create my own little  snowy scene.  I used the Winter Wonderland, but masked off the border before inking.  I used Inkylicious Snowy House and Tim Holtz Tree Line stamped over torn paper masks to create their destination.
Whether you're in the depths of Winter or dreaming of Spring, it's up to you what you create and if you need some inspiration, check out the DT cards here, you'll be spoilt for choice.
Don't forget, we are a stamping challenge and your stamping must follow the theme.

I am entering this at
  That's Crafty - Anything Goes
  Artistic Stamper - Anything Goes
Country View Challenges - Anything Goes

Thanks for visiting, and enjoy your day,
Avril xx

A Tissue!!

Hello,   Happy New Year and thanks for visiting and no I don't have a cold! 'A Tissue' is the title of the new challenge at Try it on Tuesday and we would like to see you USE tissue in your project, not to sneeze into!!!

I've used 3 kinds of tissue on my card, the base was gift wrap tissue that I've had for a little while just waiting for the right time to be used, alright, it had been hoarded!  My image was stamped onto tissue and then glued onto a printable canvas paper which has a rather shiny finish that I don't really like - so a good way of using this up.

The flowers and leaves were all cut from a napkin and glued around the oval frame, after I'd used Crackle paste and Walnut stain Distress ink over most of the card.

The rest of the Design Team have some wonderful inspiration for you,so please pop over here, you won't be disappointed.

Well, that's it - holidays all over and back to normal and hopefully normal blogging and crafting will be resumed.
