Butterflies at Try it on Tuesday

It's time for a  new challenge at Try it on Tuesday and this time the theme is Butterflies, or in my case just one.

I used a Wendy Vecchi Stencil and embossing paste, before spraying Speckled Egg and Antique Linen Oxide inks on the background, some script stamping with Speckled Egg DI and then used the TH rose stencil with Spun Sugar and Bundled Sage inks.  My butterfly was heat embossed using Oxidised Iron Embossing Powder and also the frame, which I'd  originally embossed with copper EP, was also given a coat of the Oxidised powder.  It's backed with scrap card left over from the base, and adhered over some pink and white threads.

The rest of the team have some fabulous inspiration, so please pop over to the main blog.

Thanks for calling in,  have a great day,
Avril xx

Beautiful Blooms - Mid month at Stamping Sensations

It's mid month of our current challenge at Stamping Sensations where Chocolate Baroque are the sponsors and are offering one lucky winner an A4 stamp sheet or stamps to the equivalent.

For my second piece for this challenge I've used Chocolate Baroque Movie Strip Collage.  My focal image was stamped with Stazon ink onto a piece of  glossy photo paper that I had used with Oxide inks, mainly Picked Raspberry, (this was originally a large A4 piece of glossy paper and there's also some blue in one corner).  I added some colour to the photo strip with Distress inks.  The base piece again uses Picked Raspberry Oxide ink, but this time after applying the ink to the craft mat and spritzing with water, instead of dipping the paper directly, I used a piece of acetate to apply the ink.

The Design Team have more fabulous inspiration for you, so please pay them a visit.

Thanks for calling in,

Make it Feminine at Try it on Tuesday

It's time for a new challenge at Try it on Tuesday and for this fortnight we'd like you to Make it Feminine, lots of choice there, flowers, images, in fact anything that appeals to your feminine side.

I love flowers and making flower cards and as I've recently bought the new Brushstrokes Flower dies, a good opportunity to use them, especially as I need a birthday card for a special friend.   I used some inky mop up papers to cut the flowers and layered them on a mono print background using the Doily stencil, the sentiment was heat set using clear EP.

The rest of the DT have some fabulous inspiration for you, so please pop over to the main blog where you will also find all the challenge details.

Thanks for calling in,

Beautiful blooms at Stamping Sensations

It's time for a new challenge at Stamping Sensations, and what could be better for May than Beautiful Blooms.  This month we are sponsored by Chocolate Baroque who are offering one lucky random winner the choice of an A4 stamp or stamps to the value of £25.

I've used Freesia Blueprint on  shaving foam backgrounds, with some random stamping on the base layer.  My image was coloured with Distress inks.

The rest of the Design Team have some wonderful inspiration for you, so please pop over to the main blog, where you will also find all the challenge details.

I am joining in with the challenge at Allsorts, where the theme this week is Spring Blossoms

Enjoy the rest of the Bank Holiday weekend.
