Amaze Yourself

Hello, and thanks for calling in, don't know what your weather's like, but we had a really wet day yesterday, so I had a lovely day in the craft room, caught up on a couple of DT pieces and finished a card using a Distress Oxide background made a while ago.

I've cut apart one of the Paper dolls and partially masked two stamps to create the sentiments.

I am entering this at:
Love to Create - Challenge 14
More Mixed Media - Anything Goes  + option pastel

Just a short post, but hopefully I be around to do some catching up later.

Hello,  I thought I'd just pop in to tell you that there's a new challenge at Fashionable Stamping and for this month it's  'Gone Fishing'   The Design Team have some great inspiration for you so please pop over to see.

Unfortunately, I've not had much time to get into the craft room this past month so was unable to complete anything for this challenge, but if you like the theme, why not try your hand as there's always a random winner with a great prize from Ink Art Designs.

Have a great day, and thanks for calling in.

Tag Your It!

Hello, it's time for a new challenge at Try it on Tuesday and this fortnight our theme is 'Tags'

I used corrugated card for my tag and smeared on a rough coat of Gesso before applying a coat of DecoArt Crackle paint.  Next came a sprinkling of PaperArtsy Infusions in Slime and a good spritz of water.  I must admit that no matter how many times I've tried to photograph this tag the colours either look too pale or too dark - sorry.
I've layered up a some Wildflowers, greens and twine over a Frameworks die cut and finished with a twine bow.

The rest of the Design Team have some great inspirations for you, so please pop over to the main blog and you'll also find all the challenge details.

Thanks for all your best wishes for hubby, I'm pleased to say he's recovering well.

Thanks for visiting, have a great day,
Avril xx

Stormy wildflowers

Hello.....and thanks for calling in today, it's the end of June, and this is the first 'live' post of the month, I know we all call Blogger, but at least it does schedule posts.

We had a lovely holiday at the beginning of June in Icshia, a small island in the Bay of Naples, but that all seems like a distant memory now, as we were only home a few days when hubby became very poorly and ended up in hospital with Pneumonia, but after a week on ICCU I'm pleased to say, he's now recovering well and hopefully, life is returning to normal and hopefully crafting and blogging can resume.

As a start, I thought I'd share this card which was made a while ago using a background and mop up from one of my first plays with the Oxide inks,  I stamped the TH Wildflowers with Black and heat set using clear EP.  I loved the background colours, but it reminded me of a stormy sky and as the sun was shining, it didn't get blogged at the time, I wish our stormy sky outside my window looked as pretty as this instead of just grey!

Well that's it for now, I'll be catching up with you very soon.

Feminine and Fashionable

Hello and thanks for calling in today, it was my time to pick the theme this month at Fashionable Stamping Challenges and I chose 'Feminine' and if you like the theme, you still have time to enter.

As it was my theme, I decided to add another piece using some new  Stampendous Andy Skinner Shabby Chic stamps. Again I've printed out a label I found on the internet, re sized and then stamped the corset image in the center.

The box was left over from my favorite mint tea bags, was covered with a mix of Distress paints using a dry brush. I did some second generation  stamping with some of the other labels from the set
giving a worn vintage look to the box.

A few Sizzix Tiny tattered roses and leaves  and a pretty bow to complete.

You still have time to enter the challenge and you can find all the details here.

Have a great day,
Avril xx
