Colour between the Lines for Fashionable Stamping

Hello, thanks for visiting today. It's time for another challenge at Fashionable Stamping and for this fortnight we would like to see you colouring your image with your favourite medium. We have our sponsor Flonzcraft who are offering 1 lucky random winner a $20 spend in their online store.
I have a number of birthdays this month so a great time to do something girly. I have used an image from the Graphic 45 Couture set of stamps, which I fussy cut after colouring with Karismacolour pencils, which was my first colouring medium and something I don't often used - don't know why!  The papers are also G45 Couture.
The rest of the DT have some great makes to show, so please pop over to the main blog to see and you will find all the details, just remember, we are a stamping challenge and need to see 'real' stamping that follows the theme of the challenge.
This is another schedule post, so thanks for visiting and I will catch up with you soon.

Tic Tac Toe at Try it on Tuesdays

Hello and thanks for visiting today, which sees the start of our 'Tic Tac Toe' challenge at Try it on Tuesdays.

For my piece I've gone with the bottom line of Flowers, Flourish and String.

This started life as an off cut piece of hardboard that DH was about to throw out.
I used texture paste through a script stencil, but unfortunately, it's not showing up under all the layers of spray. I didn't have much in the way of chipboard embellishments, so I glued 2 or 3 layers of die cuts together before attaching them to my board.  My flower and leaves in the r.h corner are all made with paper clay. The flourish is 3 layers of a Marianne die cut.  To complete my line I added a swirl of string. When I was happy with the sprayed colours I added Treasure Gold and Gilding wax.
Something a bit different for me, I hope you like it - I really enjoyed making it.
This is a scheduled post as today we will be sightseeing in Jaipur, and 'enjoying' an elephant ride!

Take care,
Avril xx

Lady in Blue

Hello, time to remind you of our challenge at Try it on Tuesdays which is Add a Photo and you still have one week left to enter.
For my card I have used a photo style stamp from Oxford Impressions - April in Paris.  My background  was made with the 'Shabby Chic' technique described by Tim Holtz in the CC Vol 1, page 49, why haven't I done this sooner,  love the effect.   My rose and ivy were paper and dipped in melted UTEE, the cameo is papercraft clay and coloured with Promarkers.

This is my last 'live' post for a couple of weeks as we are off on holiday to India to do the 'Golden Triangle' of Delhi, Agra and Jaipur. Lots of travelling and probably busy days, but something I have wanted to do for years.  I'm not sure what internet access we will have, so the next few posts are scheduled and I will catch up with you soon.

Recipe time at Fashionable Stamping Challenge

Hello, and thanks for your visit today.  It's time for another challenge at Fashionable Stamping and this time it's a Colour challenge - Black and White with a hint of Red.
We have Flonzcraft who are offering one lucky random winner a $20 spend in their online store, so as long as there is real stamping and your colour combo is Black/White with some red, then why not join us.  You can find all the details as well as some great inspiration on the main blog.
I've stamped the  Dylusions 'Couture' with black and clear heat embossed.  I masked the 'body' and then stamped the french script with black Archival for my background.  and of course my pop of red it had to be a bow!

Burlap panel

Hello - this makes a change - me posting when it's not a DT piece!
I really enjoyed making the burlap panel a couple of weeks ago, and thought it would look good as a 'pair'.
This is my 'bargain' hessian and although not as close a weave, it still took the spray inks and embossing paste.  My flower was made with the Tattered Florals and it's BIG - measures 60cm!  I thought this sentiment went well with the previous panel.
I've been such a bad blogger of late but life has been a bit up and down lately, (in fact maybe a bit more 'down'-  my Daughter in Law's father died very suddenly 3 weeks ago, he was only 63)  As always, life returns to normal, but things like that do make you realise how fragile life is and that we shouldn't take things for granted.
Anyhow, slowly getting back to normal now - just need to get the blog visiting up to date.
Thanks for visiting, I do appreciate it,
Take care,
Avril xx

Include a Photo at Try it on Tuesday

Hello, thanks for your visit today, because it's time for another challenge at Try it on Tuesday and this time we would like to see you using a photograph on your project, and this could be vintage or modern. I found this image of Lily Elsie on the internet.
I've used Madam Payraud papers which along with the die cuts and embossed strip were all shaded with Frayed Burlap. My little embellishment was made with paper craft clay.
The rest of the DT have used their photographs in very different ways, so why don't you pop over to the main blog, you won't be disappointed.
I am entering this at:
City Crafter - Roses and Lace
Paper Minutes - Portraits of the Past

That's all from me at the moment,
Take care, Avril xx
