More Altered Pages

Hello, hope you've had a great weekend and managed some crafting time, unfortunately I haven't, but I did manage to photograph a couple more of the altered pages,( the first ones are here),  following Astrid's wonderful step by step instructions, which you can find here

Same principals as before following Astrid's  instructions.

And the two pages together.

Just a short post, but all the details and credit really go to Astrid, I just followed as if it were an online workshop.

Remember to Smile for TioT

Hello,  a little mid challenge reminder for the theme at Try it on Tuesday  which is Make Us Smile.
We've had some fabulous entries so far and we'd like you to keep on making us smile!
This Art Stamps image caught my eye a couple of months ago at a local craft fair, it was in the reduced bin, so it would have been a shame not to buy, and it's come in very handy!
I've paper pieced her outfit and used papers to decorate the 'wall'.  Something different for me - but it was fun to do.
Don't forget you still have one week left to link up.

Have a great day - and don't forget to smile!

Altered Pages

Hello and thanks for popping in,  I've not had much  opportunity to craft these last couple of weeks, but his little project,  done in short sessions, was ideal to do as normally I get very impatient when it comes to waiting for things to dry properly.
A few weeks ago Astrid did a wonderful step by step guide for altering pages, which if you're interested you can find here.    I've attempted to do something like this before, but have never been happy with the results, however I followed Astrid's process,as if I was doing an online workshop, step by step, and I think these are quite passable.
So  'Thank You' Astrid.
I've used papers from Docrafts  Madam Payraud throughout, bits of tissue and some stamping in Potting Soil Archival.  My little 'word stickers' were cut from a Tim Holtz sentiment.

My second page, again similar, but this time I also stamped the butterfly image, coloured with Broken china and attached with foam pads.

I've made a little mini book, again following Astrid's tutorial,  here.

I got a few more pages to show, they just need sticking into the little book first and I'll show.

Thanks again for your visit.

Make Us Smile at TioT

Hello, it's time for a new challenge at Try it on Tuesday and this time we want you to ...
                                                      ' Make Us SMILE'
It's up to you how you interpret this challenge, it can be fun images, words or quotes... anything that makes you smile or laugh out loud!
I've used my Two Old Ladies and a fun quote from Rivercity Rubberworks. I decided to paper piece their dresses and matching bags, I think they suit green - don't you!
The base layer cardstock  was sprayed with Dylusions Dirty Martini (well I think these  two look like Martini drinkers - don't know if that would be before or after the Bingo) .  I've layered them on some pieces from the Tim Holtz Thrift Shop Ephemera pack and and some Kraft card embossed with the TH Bingo Folder.
The rest of the DT have some fabulous inspiration that you really don't want to miss - I guarantee it will make you SMILE - so please pop over to the main blog, you won't be disappointed.
Thanks for visiting and I hope you have a great day,
Avril xx

Under The Sea at Fashionable Stamping

Hello ,  it's time to tell you about the new challenge at Fashionable Stamping and for this month the theme is  'Under the Sea'  and Flonzcraft are sponsoring one lucky random winner with a $20 spend in their online store.
For my card I began by cutting an oval aperture and then dragged my card through a very watery mix of Salty Ocean, Broken China and Tumbled Glass Distress inks.  The piece behind the aperture was stamped with a free stamp from CS magazine.  I also stamped onto vellum and fussy cut  the sea horse which I coloured with Black soot DI and a white gel pen for the eye before attaching to the main image to give a translucent look. I added a mix of real and stamped shells and some greenery cut from the Sizzix Thinlits  Festive Greenery.
The rest of the DT have some wonderful inspirations , so why not pop over to the main blog and you will also find all the challenge details.
Enjoy the rest of your weekend whatever you're doing, I'm still trying to catch up after a couple of hectic weeks.

On the Farm

Hello, for my weekly post over on the Artistic Blog I'm again using  this Farmers Boy from the Harvest set of rubber stamps on a background using the Serenity set, I just love this little chap, in fact I think he might be one of my favourites. I've also adapted one of  the images from the Serenity set to make my background.
If you want to know how I made this tag, please head over to the AO blog for all the details.

Happy Holidays is the New Challenge at TioT

Hello - it's time for a new challenge at Try it on Tuesday and for this fortnight we've got the theme of 'Happy Holidays'  so  why don't you join us an show us what would make your happy holiday.
Don't know about you, but I can't wait for some sunshine after all these cloudy showery days we've been having, and so the idea of  warm summer days at the seaside really appealed to me.  I decided to use some Crafty Individuals stamps to make my summer scene inside the aperture of   the Tim Holtz cabinet card die. I fussy cut my bathing beauty, paper pieced her sun shade and added her to the card front using foam pads for a little dimension.  My tiny shells are real and collected on last years holiday in Dubai.
The rest of the team have some wonderful inspiration for you so please pop over to the main blog where you'll also find all the details of the challenge.
I am entering this at:
Penny Black and More - Anything goes with  a Stamp
Craft Stamper TIMI - Anything Goes
  Eclectic Ellapu - Purple team - Life's a beach
Live and Love Crafts - Sprinkles of Summer

Well, I might only be dreaming of holidays , but I am coming to visit  you and catch up as I've had a hectic few days of gallivanting and celebrating my birthday with family and girlfriends and I've got another girly lunch lined up later in the week with another group of friends - no wonder I get no crafting done!
Have a great day,
Avril xx
