Hello Spring! at Try it on Tuesday

The new challenge at Try it on Tuesday is Hello Spring, and we would love to see what Spring means to you.
For me, I love to see the Spring bulbs coming through and one of my favourites is Fritillary with their checked heads, mine aren't blooming yet, but hopefully they won't be too long.

I've used the AALL&Create Fritillary stamp along with some freebie magazine sentiments.  Fresh greens, blue skies and pink blossom are also my favourite spring colours.

The rest of the DT have some fabulous pieces, so please pop over to the main blog for all the details.

I am also showing this at Art Journal Journey where Sheila's theme is a Single Flower.

Thanks for calling, have a great day,
Avril xx

Monochromatic Mid month inspiration at Stamping Sensations.

Monochromatic - using only one colour, is the theme this month at Stamping Sensations and as I opted for Black on White initially, I decided on a slightly more colourful version this time.
I used Rose Red Brushos, sprinkled lightly before spritzing with water.  My AALL&Create poppy was stamped with Aged Mahogany Distress ink and heat set with clear EP.  I did think about using the Brushos and water to colour the petals, but quite liked the CAS look.

Not much crafting time has left me with a lack of inspiration, but "while the iron's hot" so they say - I also though about using my Visible Image flower in a very CAS style.  Stamped the flower and sentiment with Adirondack Denim and heat set with clear EP, before using  Peacock Feathers DI to colour.

The rest of the Design Team have some wonderful inspiration for you, so please pop over to the main blog, where you will also find all the challenge details.

Thanks for calling in,
Avril x

Use a Stencil or Two at Try it on Tuesday

Our new challenge at Try it on Tuesday is to Use A Stencil or Two, or more if you want, we wouldn't want to spoil your fun!
My page started with a very rough covering of Gesso before spraying Speckled Egg Oxide and rubbing in places with a tissue. On the lighter side I used Speckled Egg DI to stencil through the TH Gothic stencil. I applied Texture paste through a circle stencil then sprinkled with white EP, which was heated before drying to give a bubbly texture. (really I didn't have time to wait!)
As I planned to colour my flower and add the quote using Aged Mahogany DI, I decided to incorporate this colour into the background using a script stencil. My quote was heat set for more definition.

I hope you will get your stencils out and join us in this fun theme and for more inspiration, the Design Team have some fabulous projects to show on the main blog, so please pop over.

As there's a single flower on my page, I'm joining in the fun over at Art Journey Journal where Orange Esmeralda has chosen this months theme A Single Flower.

Well, things are definitely neglected here in the craft room and I'm sorry I don't get to visit very often, but babies take priority! They had their first injections last week and were a bit fretful from the Rotavirus vaccine, so Grandma felt like she was doing an aerobic exercise class with weights and noise!
I keep telling my daughter she needs to grow an extra pair of hands - they usually want feeding and winding at the same time, twins are lovely, but too much for one.

Today is a day off - yay! so I hope to do some catching up and hopefully some visiting.

Thanks for calling in and have a great day,
Avril xx

Monochromatic at Stamping Sensations

The new challenge at Stamping Sensations is Monochromatic,  colour wise you can use any colour you like - as long as you stick to one colour shade.  We are sponsored for this challenge by Stamp Addicts who are offering one lucky winner a £25 voucher.

I've gone very basic with this one only using black on white card.  My elegant ladies are an old Flonzcraft stamp and to fit with the quote, I drawn a wine glass!

The rest of the Design Team have some fabulous and colourful inspiration for you, so please pop over to the main blog, where you will find all the challenge details.

Thanks for calling in, have a great day,
Avril xx

Say it With Flowers at Try it on Tuesday

Say It With Flowers is our new challenge at Try it on Tuesday and we would love to see how you interpret this.

I need some birthday cards and what better way to say Happy Birthday than with flowers.
A mop up oxide background to start and then this AALL & Create stamp, I also stamped the flower heads again, coloured and fussy cut,  the bottles were stamped on acetate, fussy cut and attached with Glosssy Accents.

The rest of the DT have some fabulous inspirations so please pop over to the main blog where you will also find all the challenge details.

Thanks for calling in, I know I haven't been around this week, we've had two poorly babies and they ended up in hospital on Thursday, but I'm pleased to say they're home and are so much better, although very clingy, so I've been helping out with lots of nursing and cuddles while Mummy and Daddy catch up on some much needed sleep.

Have a great day,
Avril xx
