Tagging Along

Phew! after a very busy week, although I should say month, I've got round to uploading this tag for the challenge at Tag-Along and ATCs. Their theme this month is Favourite Colours - I have a few 'favourites' one of which is green.

The background is a mop up and I've stamped Lavinia Flowers Divine set which I've coloured with some old Sparkling  H2Os paints and then stamped Bumble and Hum, coloured with Intense and added Stickles to their wings and some Orchard grass to ground the little scene. I added some Lavinia words - one of which was to hide a black smudge!

Summer Blooms at TioT

 The new challenge at Try it on Tuesday this fortnight is Summer Blooms.

Like most folks, I've got a few floral stamps - difficult decision - what to  choose.  

I've used Inkylicious Sketched Florals, which were stamped onto a pink inky mop up background, I added more pink  through a stencil for extra interest. The flower heads were also stamped onto watercolor paper and coloured with Picked Raspberry Di, fussy cut and added.  The sentiment was a magazine freebie.

Mid Month at We Love Stamping

We're half way through July (can you believe it) so its mid challenge reminder at We Love Stamping where the theme is Summertime or if you prefer you can always use the A/G option.

There are two prizes of  Lavinia stamps this month, just remember to include real stamping on the front of your entry and give a brief details of products/stamps used.

For my card I inked my card base with DIs and then built up my Summer meadow using

 Lavinia  Forest Flower, Wild Flower, Silhouette Foliage Set and Orchard Grass along with Bumble and Hum.  I coloured the Forest flowers with Glitter gel pens and the bees with Intense pencils adding Diamond Dust stickles to their wings.

Animals at Try it on Tuesday

Our new challenge at Try it on Tuesday is Animals - Real or Imaginary.

Although my Highland Cow is real, they don't usually look like this, but I have seen a lot of multi coloured images around. 

The verse I've used is from Inkylicious and I thought it went so well with my fun cow.

Summertime at We Love Stamping

 It's the first Sunday of the month which means it's time for a new challenge at We Love Stamping where the  theme is Summertime.  We have t wo prizes of Lavinia stamps and watercolours.

Please remember there must be stamping on the front of your entry as well as brief details of the stamps/products used to be eligible

For my card I've used a Gelli print background and then stamped Moments Like These and stamped the two poppies again, coloured them with Inktense pencils and added some Star Dust stickles for a little sparkle.  To finish the little woodland scene I stamped the  Silhouette Foliage set.

In the Garden at TioT

The new challenge this fortnight at Try it on Tuesday is In the Garden, so anything that's Garden related.

An obvious choice for me - Flowers.  I've used the floral stamp from Tim Holtz Dearly Departed on a Gelli plate background.  I stamped the image in Versafine Clare Shady Lane ink and then in black ink on white card, fussy cutting the flowers and painting with Inktense pencils, then adhering over the stamped panel.  I also added a little extra colour to the leaves with pencils.

The craft room has been somewhat neglected over the last couple of weeks as Teddy has had tonsils and adenoids removed and grommets placed in both ears, fortunately it was done as a day case, but there were extra school runs and Grandma days for Lucy so Laura could spend time with Teddy, poor little sole, he just couldn't be bothered with his playmate who just wanted to play and fuss over him.  Last week he was much better, so it was Grandma days and school pick ups when Laura went back to work - was I glad when the weekend came!

It's back to normal this week and their first Sports Day on Wednesday, which is something nice to look forward to.

Mid month Sports and Hobbies at WLS

It's mid challenge reminder time at We Love Stamping where the current theme is Sports and Hobbies or if you prefer, you can also go with Anything Goes.

I've used some old Artistic Outpost stamps called The Gold Club for my card.

I started with an inky background then stamped my vintage golfer, he was then covered with a mask before stamping the collaged background and a couple of the quotes from the same set.

Flying High at Try it on Tuesday

We're Flying High with our new challenge at Try it on Tuesday this fortnight. Lots of choice and I did have quite a few different ideas but ended up going for butterflies.

My tag started as a piece of sprayed card that had been in the 'backgrounds' box for a while.  It already had some random script stamping but wasn't big enough to make a card, so I cut it to a tag shape.  My butterfly was cut from a TH Bigz die and matching EF, I coloured it with similar pink shades and then used Gilding wax to highlight the raised areas and dabbed on some gold stickles. To add some interest I cut and coloured some TH Wildflowers but felt as if it still needed something, so used the TH Wildflower stencil and white texture paste as a base for flowers and butterfly.  I added a sentiment which came free with a magazine.

Sports and Hobbies at We Love Stamping

 Good morning and welcome to a new challenge at  We Love Stamping where I'm pleased to say I have been asked to be part of the wonderfully creative Design Team.

The theme for this month's challenge is Sports and Hobbies - or you can always follow the Anything Goes option.  

My little Dancer is one of the new Andy Skinner stamps, she was stamped with Versafine onto a gelli print and I've used the bleach technique to bleach out her skin, which was then coloured with pencils. I've added a little more colour to her dress and wings and then applied Stardust stickles over the wings, which of course doesn't show in the photo.

Going Round ion Circles at TioT

Our new challenge at Try it on Tuesday this fortnight is Going Round in Circles,  which can be as few or as many as yous like, as long as there is a circle.

I've used a Carabelle studio stamp called The Exotiks by Ana Bondu, I've had it for years - only inked up once I think on a piece of scrap card, (which was in the packet) but I didn't like the way I'd coloured it and since then it has been put in the box and left.  As the image has the circles, I thought it was time to try again.

I stamped the image and then stamped and fussy cut a mask and then used various circles stencils with Victorian Velvet DI to add interest and colour. I coloured the leaves and stamped circles and just lightly tinted the flowers - now I quite like this stamp!  The sentiments were free with a magazine.

Keep it Simple at TioT

There's still another week to go for the current challenge at Try it on Tuesday which is Keep it Simple and I couldn't resist inking up this Highland cow that I bought when I went to a Craft Show last month.  The image and sentiment were a set and I though perfect for a fun masculine card.  The image is so simple to colour, just a few random brown pencils.

I did have another reason for buying it - Highland Cows - apart from dinosaurs of course - are Teddy's favourite animal, so we've stamped a few and we've also used the printer to enlarge them for him to colour, which he loved, especially as he had 'made' them himself and he even 'made' some for Lucy, both of them enjoy colouring and drawing.

Cute Creatures at Stamping Sensations

It's mid month inspiration over at Stamping Sensations where our theme is Cute Creatures or A/G if you prefer.

I've used one of my Anita Jeram stamps, but instead of the bear holding a flower as per the stamp, I masked that off and then stamped a HoneyDoo  balloon stamp that I bought recently at a Craft show.

I coloured the image and balloons with pencils.  I added Stickles to the balloons, a die cut Happy and then stamped Birthday onto black card and heat embossed with white EP.

Keep it Simple at Try it on Tuesday

 

Our new challenge at Try it on Tuesday is Keep it Simple, well you couldn't get much simpler than this.

I stamped my image onto white card and coloured with pencils and added a birthday sentiment, then die cut with a stitched square die.  The black and grey mat is actually a recycled card, so no cutting and layering with different cardstock.

A splash of Pink!

 

After a recent 'tidy-up' in my craft room I felt guilty at the amount of neglected stuff, all of which were must have buys at the time, so I've been making a conscious effort to try and use them.  Also. I've hardly used any dies lately, and one of my favourites are these flowers from Sizzix, which I used on this tag.  I also have a large box of backgrounds - as you do! so a rummage and I found this pink/cream piece which I cut using the AALL&Create tag die set 31 that was a prize at Tag-along and ACTs a while ago. 

I randomly stamped a script/ledger background stamp, not sure of the make as it's lost it's original packaging and was found with my Tim Holtz stamps, but I don't think it's his?  The flowers were coloured with Distress inks and tied with twine.

Cute Creatures at Stamping Sensations

Its the first Sunday of the month and that means a new challenge at Stamping Sensations, but this time, sadly,  it's our last challenge after 16 years.

 Our last theme is Cute Creatures or you can always go with the Anything Goes option, and we have a wonderful prize from Highlight Crafts, just remember to include real stamping on your entry to be eligible.

I've used this cute Robin from Crafty Individuals, masking him off before adding a stencilled background and them stamping the music notes and greeting that also came with the stamp.  He's quite a large stamp and fits nicely on an 8" x 8" card base.

Numbers at Try it on Tuesday

 Our new challenge at Try it on Tuesday is Numbers, stamped or added, it's up to you.

I've used AALL&Create's Gem of a Plant stamp for my tag, stamping onto an inky background and then colouring with pencils.  I've used some bleach to fade out the colour of the larger numbers.

Inspired by Nature at Stamping Sensations

 

It's mid way for the current challenge at Stamping Sensations where our theme is Inspired by Nature or if you prefer there's always the A/G option.  There are two prizes this month - a $20 Gina K voucher and an AALL&Create stamp.

I couldn't resist using my new Inkylicious Sketched Floral stamps again.  I've stamped them onto a gelli plate background using Black Edition pencils, which have covered the background really well, a few white highlights with a gel pen and lots of sparkle with Glamour Dust, which of course doesn't show.

Fresh as a Daisy

 

At Tag-along & ATCs  this month the theme is  Blossoms, Butterflies, Birds and you have the choice to pick of one or more of the elements.

I've opted for Blossoms and used some Sizzix Wildflower dies to cut my daisies and just colouring the stems and centres of the flowers.  My background tag was cut from an inky background which was in the pile that seems to have accumulated in a very large box and I've used a TH stencil with some white gesso for texture and interest, I did think  the gesso might have dried up as it's a long time since it was used, but although thick, it was perfect for stencilling.

Make Your Own Background at TioT

 

We're asking to Make Your Own Background for the new challenge at Try it on Tuesday.

I've used Hickory Smoke Di smooched onto some watercolour card, when dry I randomly stamped AALL&Create#304 to add detail to the background using Versafine Morning Mist.  My flowers a new purchase from Inkylicious were stamped in black and the flower heads were also stamped onto watercolour card, coloured and fussy cut.

Friendship Tree

I've completed another page in my new journal (which I've called my CAS journal) 

The stamps I've used are at least 5//6yr old, but have only been inked once!  I think they are Jane Davenport, but I've lost the original packaging, I do like this quote and I think that's probably why I bought them.  I've also added a cherry blossom branch which is an old wooden stamp from Rubber Stampeed.   Everything was coloured with pencils.

The theme this month at Art Journal Journey is Trees, so hopefully my 'tree' quote and branch will qualify.
