Keep it Simple at Try it on Tuesday

We're keeping it Simple at Try it on Tuesday with our new challenge.
Well, this card was certainly simple to make.  I've used a mop-up from our Rainbow challenge a couple of weeks ago and an already stamped and fussy cut image, which just needed a little bit of inky colouring and a pre-stamped birthday greeting.  I edged the mop-up with Wilted Violet to match the flower colour and added a small twine bow - how simple is that.
The rest of the team have some great samples to inspire you, so please pop over to the main blog where you will also find all the challenge details.
There's not been much going on in the craft room the last few weeks as we've been having the twins a couple of extra days while Laura has been working to cover holidays - I just wish I had the energy they have.
Have a great day, Avril xx

Add a Stencil at Stamping Sensations

Good morning, it's time for a new challenge at Stamping Sensations and this month it's Anything Stamped with the option of Add A Stencil.
I've used a couple of stencils on my card, I started by adding Texture past through a Tim Holtz stencil, when it was dry I sprayed the card with Antique Linen and Tattered Rose stains and added gilding waxes, in Aquamarine and Enchanted Gold.  Next I used Gold pigment ink through an AALL&Create stencil.  My focal images are both from A&C.  All edges of the card are embossed with gold EP.
The rest of the DT have some great samples for your inspiration, so please pop over to the main blog where you will find all the challenge details, along with details of two fabulous prizes from Oakwood Direct.

Two prizes, mixed media bundle from Oakwood Direct and two stencils

Thanks for calling in today.

Use a Stencil at Try it on Tuesday

It's time for a new challenge at Try it on Tuesday and this week the theme is Use a Stencil.

I've used a CB stamp,  on white linen card and used Kitsch Flamingo DI to colour the blooms.  I've used the same ink through my stencil and its definitely more noticeable in real life.
The rest of the Design Team have more great inspiration for you, so please pop over to the main blog for all the details.

Thanks for calling in, I'll be around later in the week to catch up with you.

For the love of Animals GD at Allsorts

Hello, I had the honour of being asked to be the Guest Designer over at Allsorts Challenge blog where the theme this week is For the Love of Animals.

I've used another of the Colorado Craft stamps, I love these cute Anita Jeram images.  Stamped on white linen card and  coloured with watercolour pencils and although it's not easy to see, there is an ink blended sky.

The Team over at Allsorts have some fabulous inspiration for you, so please pop over to the challenge blog for all the details.

CAS mid month at Stamping Sensations

It's mid month and time for more challenge inspirations from the Design Team at Stamping Sensations. The challenge this month is CAS and my second piece uses a neglected PaperArtsy stamp - in fact the flower was a 'must have' buy that hadn't been inked!

I've stamped onto white card and then again onto water colour paper, fussy cutting the flower head and colouring with Picked Raspberry DI.  I used a circle mask and softly sponged the same ink to create a spotlight.  The verse is another PA stamp.
The rest of the Design Team have some great inspiration for you, so please pop over to the main blog for all the challenge details.

I've 2 schedule posts today, and as it's a Grandma day, I'll be around later in the week to catch up.

Thanks for calling in.

Rainbow Colours at Try it on Tuesday

Rainbow Colours is the new challenge at Try it on Tuesday this fortnight,  so get those inks and  paints out and create something colourful.

I stamped my image in black and then heat embossed with clear EP first as I didn't want any stray grains of EP affecting the colours, then sponged the rainbow colours through a circle aperture mask.
The Design Team have some very inspirational projects to show, so please pop over to the main blog for all the details.

This blog has been a little quiet lately, just trying to catch up with 'things' - but we did have a good Easter and the twins enjoyed decorating their Easter bunny biscuits - all their own work!

We also made Easter pictures, again all their own work from what was on the table,  (after Grandma showed them how to glue and told then to stick it down on the card) think I might have a couple of budding crafters here.

We also decorated Easter bonnets, but I forgot to take a picture - not that they would put them on their heads!

Hello Spring at Try it on Tuesday

The new challenge at Try it on Tuesday is Hello Spring and it's up to you how you interpret this.

Spring to me is all about emerging colours after a bleak winter and of course, Easter is always in Springtime.
I've made a wreath using lots of little Lavinia stamps, stamping in various colours, before making the scene inside with the little hares.
The rest of the Design Team have some fabulous inspiration for you so please pop over to the main blog for all the details.
It's Grandma duties again today,  and we're decorating Easter bunny biscuits that I baked at the weekend and tomorrow, we're decorating Easter hats, so hopefully I'll still be sane enough to catch up with you later in the week.
Have a great day.
