Penny Black Saturday Challenge

Have had a busy couple of days decorating - not my favourite hobby! So after all the hard work you have to have a little 'me time' and mine was to make a card for the Peny Black Saturday challenge - 3 flowers, 2 buttons and 1 bow. Finished the card and then thought ooops forgot the bow! but I think it looks OK by the sentiment.
The image 'Friends Rain or Shine' was coloured using Distress Inks and the papers are the last scraps of some Melissa Francis that I bought ages ago. (I always feel a little sad when I use the last of a paper - cause there is no more, does anyone else feel this way or am I mad!)
The sentiment is Docrafts that I haven't used much, but does seen to go with this image.
One of the reasons for my blog was to enter into the fun of challenges and to be challenged. Although I have a button box, I forget to use them and usually just take the easy option of pearls - challenges are making me think of different things to use - can't be bad.

This blog has also helped me improve my computer skills and my photography, feeling quite pleased with myself!

Thanks for looking

Happy Hoppers - Fancy Pants

Ordered a new stamp which arrived yesterday, and couldn't wait to ink it up. I love these House Mouse and Happy Hoppers stamps. Fancy pants just cries out for 'girlie bling', especially the shoes, which I have glittered. I decided to make her necklace pearls - just for a bit of 'class'. I didn't have any red glitter paper, so made my own with double sided tape and the same glitter I used for her shoes. The papers are from my 'hope' cupboard (hope to used them up someday). The sentiment is computer generated - so easy when you don't have the right stamp.

On my journey around blogland last night I found that I can enter her in a few challenges, so here goes:

Papertake weekly - sketch
Stamp with Fun - animals
Cupcake Craft Challenge - red and white
ABC Challenge - Sparkle

Finally, I decided 'Daisy' was my choice for their challenge. Windswept' came a very close second.

'Old Sugar Nellies'

Over on the Sugar Nellie blog, they have been reminiscing about the start of Funkykits, and showcasing the early Sugar Nellie images. Its sad, but true that you tend to ink up the new stamps and neglect the 'old ones'. I did three and can't make up my mind which I liked best, cause each one at the time was my new 'favourite'.

I made this card 'early' for a friends birthday, so before it goes in the post, thought I would enter it into a challenge as its so cute! I love this image,(thanks Diane for letting me ink up the stamp) he looks so satisfied.
The challenge at Papertake Weekly is 'cute' and this little chap is certainly that, also, the challenge at Pink Elephant this week is - 1 image, 2 die cuts and 3 favourite embellishments - this card has them all (embellishments being ribbon, flower and pearls).
The HouseMouse image is coloured with Distress inks and the papers are Papermania Rose Garden. The sentiment is computer generated.

Its been a busy two weeks, I had my daughter home for the Easter holidays from University, so there has been very little crafting done! Enjoyed some 'blog hopping' this afternoon and saw the fab sketch on Truly Scrumptious with the option of 'April Showers'.
I have used 'Willow' from Whiff of Joy and coloured her with Distress Inks. I used Glossy Accents and Glamour Dust for the rain, but its not showing very well. I think I need some photography lessons as everything looks pale when I upload the pictures. The flowers are from Wild Orchid Craft, but they might not be too happy as I have actually 'split' the flower in two for a flatter look! I added a blue pearl centre. I punched a strip of Martha Stewart daisies down the side. The paper is a 'freebie' form the new Cardmaking & Papercraft magazine.

Well here goes, the reason I started a blog was to take part in a few 'Challenges'. So, this card is for the Penny Black challenge - use buttons, and also Papertake Weekly challenge - a sketch.
The Penny Black image is coloured with Distress Inks and the papers used are Papermania Rose Garden.
I think I will have to work on my photography skills!
