Christening

Hello, and thanks for your visit,  if you are a regular visitor, you may remember that I've shown a few of the 'lots' of New Baby cards that I've made over the last few months.  We received an Invitation to DD's best friends baby's Christening - dilemma, I had used the only suitable stamp on the 'new' card, so no          stamping, just die cuts and flowers and  computer generated  wording.  A bit bulky so I made a matching  box, with die cut letters for baby's name.

It was actually a 'double' Christening, with  Ellia's cousin who is a few months older, so it was 2 cards and 2 boxes.

My Grand Calibur has never worked so hard! but I do think the cards are  pretty.

That's all for now, I've been a bit 'out of the loop' so to speak, lack of time due to decorating, but I think that's the end till next year!
Catch up with you soon.

It's for the Post!

Hello,  just a short post to show that I can make a girly card without flowers - I had to - it needs to go in the post.
I used a pale pink card base and after masking my Runway Girl, used the Gothic stencil with Dusty Concord.  I had intended leaving my Runway girl's dress uncoloured, but it just seemed to fade into the background, so she got a paper pieced dress instead. The sentiment is Hero Arts.
I am going to enter this at:
Alphabet Challenge - L for Lavender (hope Lavender colour counts)

That's it for now, enjoy your weekend.

Hello and thanks for visiting today, there's a new challenge over at Try it on Tuesday and our theme this fortnight is 'Hot and Wild'   -  there's lots of scope - your can go for Hot Countries, Wild Animals or for Hot Colours, for all the details and some fabulous inspiration, please pop over to the main blog.
I decided on the 'hot' colours and paper pieced the Dylusions Couture lady, the stencilled background was inked with Squeezed Lemonade, Mustard Seed and Worn Lipstick DIs, I used the Tim Holtz  Mixed Media Die with a piece of matching cardstock, the flowers were made with the Tattered Florals from the same paper I used for the dress. The sentiment is Inkylicious.

All Tied Up

Hello and thanks for your visit today.
I don't know about you, but I love making flowers, but then when I make my card, I end up using smaller bought ones or the little paper clay roses and as I have a box full of die cuts and larger flowers, I have set myself a little challenge to use these up. I found a scrap of card the same colour as the flowers, so I've used it under the TH Mixed Media die cut. The  roses were shabbied up a bit with some Gesso and StarDust Stickles.  I've made a 'frame' with some string and added a little paper clay butterfly.  A little bit of stamping - and I'm 3 flowers less in the box!
My card is also a reminder that there's still 1 week left to join in with our Challenge at Try it on Tuesday, which this fortnight is 'In the Frame' - Hope you like my  'String'  frame.

Have a great week,

It's All About the Men

It's 'All about the Men' is the new challenge chosen for this month by Shirley, over at Fashionable Stamping Challenges.  Don't forget, we are now a monthly challenge, so you have plenty of time to link up your entry and we have Flonzcraft as our sponsor and they are offering one lucky random winner a $20 spend in their online store.
I've use a new Artistic Outpost stamp that I won a couple of months ago called 'Hats Off Background'  I distressed the edges with the TH Mixed Media die.  My '3 Gents' is a Crafty Individuals stamp.
For all the details and some great inspiration please pop over to the main blog.  Don't forget though, we are a stamping challenge and do need to see 'real' stamping that follow the theme.

In the Frame at Try it on Tuesday

Hello, it's time for a new challenge at Try it on Tuesday and this fortnight the theme is 'In the Frame', as usual it's up to you how you interpret the theme, as long as there is a 'Frame'.
For all the details and some wonderful inspiration from the rest of the DT, please pop over to the main blog.
My main backing layer was pale pink cardstock before embossing with a Tim Holtz EF that had been brayered with Victorian Velvet DI, a piece of vellum was stamped with French Script and then heat embossed with white powder.  The  frame was die cut from two oval Nesties and distressed with Frayed Burlap. My 'bright' silver butterfly was brushed with Autumn Bronze gilding wax to complete the shabby look.
This is a scheduled post as we are having a few days in the Lakes, unfortunately it doesn't look as if the weather will be very good.  Hope last week wasn't' Summer'.
Thanks for visiting and I'll catch up with you soon.

Flower Garden

I hope you've all been able to enjoy some of the wonderful sunshine we've been having.  Apart from a day out with a picnic on Tuesday, I spent most of the week in the garden, a lot of the time doing 'jobs' but I did find time to relax as well.
Not much crafting, but I did make a birthday card using the Tim Holtz Flower Garden stamps.  I used Kraft for my base and then used a Memory Box stencil with Worn Lipstick DI. The  image was stamped onto watercolour paper and coloured with Distress Markers.  The butterfly was cut using a Brusho scrap, and then coated with Rock Candy Crackle paint.  The sentiment is  Tim  Holtz.
I am entering this at:

  Stampin Royalty - Flowers

Thank you for visiting, I do appreciate it.  Enjoy the rest of the weekend and hopefully some sunshine.
