Hello, and thank you for visiting today - it's a rather long post from me today - very picture heavy.
I've been making a little (6 x 6) Scrapbook album for DIL. Her father died last year and she talked about getting an album for some of his photos, but hadn't seen anything suitable, so I decided to make one for her.
The cover was made with Kraft card and Shena Douglas's technique for faux leather.
The pages were made by gluing 2 pieces together leaving openings for pockets top or sides.
I've used mainly papers from the same pack, which lost it's label a long time ago, so I can't say who made them. The 'hero' words are Artistic Outpost
Lots of flaps and pockets throughout
For a little bit of interest, these pages fold out
Photo mats, flaps and pockets
A secret flap for journaling
The film strip is just attached top and bottom, so it can hold photos, tickets etc.
and finally, if you are still here - the back cover. I've also made a little package of extra frames, packets, photo mounts and tags and die cut die cut letters which I inked and clear embossed so she can title the album if she wants to. I've made little albums, but not quite like this, and I won't say I that I won't do another, but not for a while and it will be something that I won't be in a hurry for!
Have a great weekend whatever you are doing,
Avril xx

Another little flap that lifts up for extra photos or journaling
Christmas - lots of little tags for either photos or journaling, the frame is only glued on 3 sides making it easy to slid a photo in.For a little bit of interest, these pages fold out
and the center flap lifts up for more photos or journaling
Travel -space for photos and both pages have pockets full of tags and little envelopesPhoto mats, flaps and pockets
The film strip is just attached top and bottom, so it can hold photos, tickets etc.

This is so special, the most thoughtful of gifts and something your DIL will treasure. You have thought of everything and to include spaces and places for journalling and extra photos, that is a clever plan.
Beautiful!

I am nutso over home made albums and journals. This is fantastic - how long did it take you to make? It seems like I could figure out how to do something like this. The cover is outstanding.
