Special Delivery

Hello and thanks for visiting today.
I've just  given in and bought the new Distress Crayons,  I was thinking did I need another colouring medium, considering I always tend to go back to Distress Inks but after seeing them used in various ways, well it would have been a shame to have missed out.
This was my first play, I didn't really know where I was going, if at all and just scribbled and blended randomly on a piece of card that had been gessoed for something else.
Then I decided to try scribbling on my craft mat and used a blending foam and a couple of stencils, liked that.
Then I tried  scribbling again and used a water brush on a leftover flower image that had been embossed with white. Also scribbled on the image and blended with my finger and that's when I thought too good to waste.  I also stamped the sentiment, in black and heat embossed with clear and then scribbled over and then wiped with a dry tissue to remove the excess.
So pleased I succumbed to the temptation as it was fun to scribble away.

I am entering this at:
More Mixed Media Challenge - Bright colours
Simon Says challenge - Anything Goes
Thanks for the visit,  I do appreciate it,
Avril xx

This is absolutely gorgeous Avril and I love the depth of colour that you've achieved with your new Distress Crayons. It's always a problem when you give in to temptation because if you like the colours, then you will always need to buy more! For me, crafting is all about the fun you have whilst making a new piece of art and your card really does show how much you enjoyed making it. I love it! Have a great weekend. Sandra X

That's glorious Avril and this post should carry a public health warning as I 'need' some of those crayons and just happens I am hoping to be taken to a craft show on Sunday.

Well all that playing around and messing with your fingers has created a fabulous card Avril... of course, I LOVE that pink flower... and your background is stunning too.

I've been playing with those TH flowers lately... and have been using Zig Clean Colour Pens.. which give a lovely watercolour effect!

Thanks for your message btw... yes I'm fine - hope you are too. I didn't go to the Harrogate show this year... even drove passed the gates on my way into Harrogate. There's willpower for you hey?? I just don't NEED any more craft stuff to try to fit in my craft room!

Big hugs
