Feathered Friends at TioT

Hello and thanks for visiting today,  I've another little  inspirational piece for Try it on Tuesday where our theme this fortnight is Feathered Friends.

I used embossing paste through the Tim Holtz Woodgrain stencil,  for the base layer, it was  coloured with Distress ink and crayons.   I used a couple of bits of TH idea-ology and some Wildflowers along with a  stamped quote is from Artistic Outpost.

You still have another week to join in, so why not head over to the main blog for all the details.

Hope you all had a lovely bank Holiday and that the weather didn/t spoil your fun.

Feathered Friends at Try it on Tuesday

Hello and thanks for calling in, today sees the start of a new challenge at Try it on Tuesday and for this fortnight it's Feathered Friends.

It's been a while since I did a page in my little Journal that I started after doing Marjie Kempers online class,  and  I already had a spring coloured background of Wrinkle free Distress using Spiced Marmalade, Mustard Seed and Tumble Glass reinker. I've used an IndigoBlu stencil and the leaf elements from a Kay Carley flower set of stamps I bought a HS.  The stamped sentiment is from Artistic Outpost Serenity plate and the little bird is PaperArtsy, along with some random music script.

The rest of the DT have some great inspiration for you, so please pop over to the main blog for all the details.

Have a great day,

Mid Post reminder for Little Things at Try it on Tuesday

Hello, I'm just popping in to remind you that you still have one week left to join our Little Things Mean a Lot challenge at Try it on Tuesday, so as long as your project is smaller than 4" or 10 cms, the we would love to see them.

I've covered a little white ceramic heart with a  napkin, I used Collage Medium to apply the tissue to the front and as it's flat on the back, used a piece of white felt  to hide the untidy edges, this also hides the ends of the hanging ribbon.  It was give a couple of coats of Paper Artsy Satin Glaze to seal it.

That's it for now, thanks for calling in, and have a lovely day.

Vintage Beauty

Well - they say better late than never and I'm just scraping in with this tag for Tag Tuesday - Faces challenge.  The image is from Oxford Impressions April in Paris set that hasn't been inked in a while.  I've used a Tim Holtz  floral stencil with crackle paste and when dry sprayed with Antique Linen and Tattered Rose before stenciling some script with Walnut stain.  The words were cut from a TH stamp.
Two post in two days - think I'm on a roll this week!

Let's Go Wild at FSC

Hello,  it's time for a new challenge at Fashionable Stamping and this time we'd like you to Go Wild
The choice of how you Go Wild is up to you - it can be Animals or  Flowers.

I decided on Flowers and have used Tim Holtz Wildflowers, stamped in black and then heat set with EP.    The background was made with  Distress Oxides.  The sentiment is another Time Holtz stamp.

For this challenge we have a new sponsor Ink Art Designs who are offering one lucky random winner a stamp from the shop, and don't forget, there's also a picked Top 3.  For all the details please pop over to the main blog where you will see more inspiration from the Design Team.

I am entering this at Country View Crafts - Flower Power

Thanks for calling in and I hope you have a great day.

Little Things Mean a Lot

Hello,  it's true, Little Things Mean a Lot - especially over at Try it on Tuesday this fortnight as that's the new challenge theme.  So anything under 4" is perfect!

I've made a little Memories Box for my young couple.  I used a matchbox, covered it with a couple of coats of Gesso, and then covered the sides and bottom with vintage newsprint.  I applied Crackle paste through a stencil on the top, but the sides were just smeared with the paste.  For the old worn effect I dry brushed on a mix of Vintage Photo Distress paint and ParperArtsy Taupe paint.  Memories was stamped with Vintage Photo Oxide and heat set with Clear EP.

The inside was covered with some distressed DP scraps, before adding the treasured photos - my gent is a stamp from Oxford Impressions and the lady was found on the internet ( although I don't think the idea of internet dating was around at that time!)  A torn piece of french script, a bundle of postcards and a faded bouquet - but the memories remain.

The rest of the DT have some wonderful inspiration for you, so please pop over to the main blog, where you will find all the details.

I am entering this at:
Love to Create - Challenge 9 Anything Goes

I've just come back from a great weekend in the Wirral,  we traveled down on Friday and did the tourist route and museums of Port Sunlight and then it was back the next day for the Happy Stampers show.  What a great day, met up with a couple of blog buddies and met some new ones too and had a little spend as well.  Lovely weather and a day out in Chester to finish off.

Have a great day, I'm hoping to have some play time with the new goodies.

A Lovely Day!

Hello,  Nothing for days and then two in a row!

While the Old Jalopy was out for my TioT's  DT card for our current theme of Transport,   I decided it had been so neglected I'd better use it again.   So with a little bit of masking and the lovely scene from Artistic Outpost's Lovely Day set, I made a quick tag, which was coloured with Distress inks.

You still have another week to join in this challenge at Try it on Tuesday so why not show us your Transport themed projects.

I'm off to Happy Stampers at the weekend - a show I've been promising myself for quite a few years.
It's a long way to go about 3 1/2 - 4hrs drive from the N.E. so we are making it into a little mini break.  I've made a couple of arrangements to meet with 2 blogging friends, but is anyone else going?

All back to normal after the weekend, so hopefully I'll manage to do some crafting and catch ups.

Family Values

Hello, I'm late again at  joining in at Tag Tuesday where their theme this fortnight is Heritage which can be either cultural or personal.

I found this image on the internet and thought of Family values and friendship which just seemed right to me.

I had planned on a week of catching up - but life happens and in the best of ways, coffee with girlfriends, shopping and lunch with another, a day out with hubby and then DD comes to stay as hubby is away on a stag 'do' - but I wouldn't change it!

Hope you're enjoying the Bank Holiday weekend, at least it's dry and sunny but quite cold here in the N.E.
