Little Things Mean a Lot

Hello,  it's true, Little Things Mean a Lot - especially over at Try it on Tuesday this fortnight as that's the new challenge theme.  So anything under 4" is perfect!

I've made a little Memories Box for my young couple.  I used a matchbox, covered it with a couple of coats of Gesso, and then covered the sides and bottom with vintage newsprint.  I applied Crackle paste through a stencil on the top, but the sides were just smeared with the paste.  For the old worn effect I dry brushed on a mix of Vintage Photo Distress paint and ParperArtsy Taupe paint.  Memories was stamped with Vintage Photo Oxide and heat set with Clear EP.

The inside was covered with some distressed DP scraps, before adding the treasured photos - my gent is a stamp from Oxford Impressions and the lady was found on the internet ( although I don't think the idea of internet dating was around at that time!)  A torn piece of french script, a bundle of postcards and a faded bouquet - but the memories remain.

The rest of the DT have some wonderful inspiration for you, so please pop over to the main blog, where you will find all the details.

I am entering this at:
Love to Create - Challenge 9 Anything Goes

I've just come back from a great weekend in the Wirral,  we traveled down on Friday and did the tourist route and museums of Port Sunlight and then it was back the next day for the Happy Stampers show.  What a great day, met up with a couple of blog buddies and met some new ones too and had a little spend as well.  Lovely weather and a day out in Chester to finish off.

Have a great day, I'm hoping to have some play time with the new goodies.

I wondered what would be inside the box when I saw your first photo. It looks gorgeous and would be a super keepsake gift as well.

Such a beautiful little box of memories, I really enjoyed reading how you created it too. The crackle glaze that you applied through a stencil looks stunning - I love it! Thanks for the inspiration, I'm definitely going to give it a try. It sounds like you had fun on your travels at Happy Stampers and Chester, which is such a lovely place ๐Ÿ˜Š. Wishing you a great week! J ๐Ÿ˜€
