Hello, and thanks for popping in today as we start another Challenge at Try it on Tuesday.
Our theme for this fortnight is 'Use Your Leftovers'
Don't know about you, but I have a pile of backgrounds, tags, stamped bits and pieces from 'trying' things, along with leftovers, and every now and then I sort through and make an effort to use something.
This inked tag has been in the pile for ages, I remember doing it and thinking the colours weren't right for what I was wanting, I'd embossed the top and bottom with a TH embossing folder, inked it up, probably with Victorian Velvet, Dusty Concord and Tumbled Glass by the looks of it and then 'that was it ' in the pile!
I've stamped Valerie from IndigoBlu onto tissue paper and adhered with matt medium, and added some random script stamping to the background. I added some tiny tatterd roses and some greenery and cut some words from a Tim Holtz stamp. Then I remembered seeing at the bottom of the pile a white piece of card, stenciled in a pink, so I used the colours I thought were on the tag giving me a matching background to mat and layer onto a card. All topped off with a bow that was made for something else but turned out too drab - it's surprising how a good wash will lighten the inks.
The rest of the DT have some wonderful inspirations using their leftovers, so please pop over to the main blog where you'll also find all the challenge details.
Thanks for your visit,
Avril xx

Really beautiful tag, Avril.
Lovely leftovers, gorgeously designed.
Have a great evening ❤
If there's a crafter out there with no left overs or unfinished projects I applaud this person and would love to know how to do it, lol. I think I'm constantly digging through my leftovers and more often than not use some, but the pile seems to keep growing. Now I'm trying to not cut into any untouched papers before I've reduced the piles of leftovers so that it shows.
I've never tried this stamping onto thin paper and transferring it onto the background technique before. I'm guessing it's similar to using napkins for decoupage, something I did before I started stamping but haven't tried since.
This little piece is beautifully vintage and feminine.
She's stunning, Avril - and you've created a beautifully elegant setting for her.

Another gorgeous tag and what a beautiful stamp that is. I love how you've kept the colours quite simple and then added a splash of colour with the flowers, it looks great. Sandra X
