Spring Time

Hello, I'm just squeezing in over at Art Journal Journey with another page for Jo's Spring time theme this month.

This time I've used a pretty floral tissue which came in some lovely happy mail from my lovely  friend Yvonne.  I had given the page a light spray with Tumbled Glass stain before gluing down the torn tissue.  I've stamped the leaves with DIs and the Sentiment was a magazine freebie. and for a little bit of fun I've stencilled in some raindrops for my spring showers!

Flower Friends

A very 'clean' card for me today and very different!
Another set of stamps that I couldn't resist that just happened to 'fall off the shelf' into the basket earlier this month.  I've loved these quirky flowers for a while and while dithering, this little girl said 'please put me in your basket, you will like me'  and she was right!

I had just intended to stamp the flowers but then added the girl and with the computer generated quote, so I'm using it as a reminder that you still have one more week to join in our 'Say it With Flowers' challenge at Try it on Tuesday   and you can find all the details here.

Thanks for calling in,
Have a great day, Avril xx

Don't Wait

Well, I didn't wait when I saw this Woodware stamp at the craft fair earlier in the month, but I think I was a bit surprised at how big it seemed when it was stamped up, mustn't have had my glassed on when I bought it!
I thought I'd keep the background simple and used an Oxide mop up piece.  I love this sentiment and the fact that it comes in two pieces makes filling the card 'perfect'
I've been galivanting too much this week, so I've indulged in a little play today and now I'm off to do some catching up,
Have a great weekend, Avril xx

Say it With Flowers

It's time for a new challenge at Try it on Tuesday and this fortnight we would like you to 'Say it With Flowers' and as Mother's Day is fast approaching for us in the U.K. it could be a way of getting an early start for that, but whatever you make, make sure it features flowers.

I've used Oxide inks on glossy cardstock, drying between colours.  I then masked off a circle where I wanted my flower head to go, and added more ink around that.  After removing the mask I then buffed the shine with a soft tissue.  I've added some stamping and stencilling in the background for interest.  My flower was stamped and then I stamped the flower head again and clear embossed with EP, coloured and fussy cut before adding with 3d foam.  The sentiment was also stamped and clear embossed.

The rest of the DT have some great inspiration, so please pop over to the main blog, where you will also find all the challenge details.

Thanks for calling in,

We all need Rainbows

Hello, I'm back as Guest Designer for Stamping Sensations to share another Rainbow card for the current challenge which is 'Somewhere Over the Rainbow'

I had a few ideas for this challenge and couldn't make my mind up what to do, so I made two and asked Benda to pick one, and she was kind enough to ask me to join in the Mid Month Inspiration with the other.

Again I've used the same Rainbow coloured background and spritzed with water.  This time I've used a Banksy type girl, who's just  'lost' her balloon, I've used a rainbow sentiment that seemed quite apt for her 'loss'.

Please pop over to the main blog for some fabulous inspirational pieces from the Design Team.

Thanks for calling in and I'll be back tomorrow for the start of a new challenge at TioT.
Have a great day, Avril xx

I Need CAKE!

Hello, it's Friday already, I don't know where this week has gone, I was full of good intentions to play with my new goodies from last weekend and this is the only thing I've done.

It's a background that has been lying around from an experiment with Oxide ink onto glossy photo paper.  A mop up with Picked Raspberry and some Wilted Violet, after drying you 'polish' the photo paper with a tissue and the colours 'pop'   I thought this was too bright, but as the average crafter who doesn't like to throw paper away, I though I'd give it another go, so I added some stencilling with Cracked Pistachio, buffed again, added the Crafty Individuals lady and a TH border stamp along with one of my new sentiments.  Quite happy with it now - proves I was right not to throw it in the bin!

Have a great weekend and thanks for calling in.

Friends

Our current challenge at Try it on Tuesday is 'Inspired by a Word'  so I thought I'd share this card I've just made for DD.  Again I have used the word Friends as my inspiration.  The stamping is done on an Oxide ink mop up, but I think the pale colours suit this image.  Apologies for the shading on the photo, but DD has taken the card before I checked the upload.
You still have one more week to join in the challenge and all the details can be found here.

This image is a bit different for me, but I've felt in a rut as far as crafting is concerned, so after a visit to a craft show and a little spend on some 'different' stash, this felt like a breath of fresh air, so there'll be a few more whimsical pieces appearing I'm sure.

Thanks for calling in, have a great day,

Possibilities for AJJ

Hello, the new theme at Art Journal Journey this month is  'Hello Springtime'  chosen by Jo.
Springtime to me is a time for new beginning - full of possibilities, which is what I've used as  inspiration for my journal page on.
Smudged Distress crayons over a gessoed page, some wildflower stamping and although I haven't seen any butterflies yet, I know there were a number of folks who did last week.

Thanks for calling in, and I hope you have a good weekend.

Inspired by a Word at Try it on Tuesday

Hello, it's time for a new challenge at Try it on Tuesday and this fortnight we would like to see your project that's Inspired by a Word  - but remember to tell us what the word is.

My card is inspired by 'Friends'  and I've used a very old Crafty Individuals stamp for my main image  and a sentiment that came with free stamps from a magazine.  The background is Distress inks with a little random stamping and stencilling.

The rest of the DT have some wonderful inspirations for you, so please pop over to the main blog, where you will also find all the challenge details.

Thanks for calling in,

Stamping Sensations GD

Hello - I'm thrilled to have been asked to be a Guest Designer at one of my favourite challenge blogs, Stamping Sensations for this months challenge which is  Somewhere Over the Rainbow,  you can find all the details and see the amazing DT inspiration here.

One of the options of the challenge is to use Rainbow colours, so I opted for a Rainbow background using - Candied Apple, carved Pumpkin, Mustard Seed, Twisted Citron, Peacock feathers, Salty Ocean and Wilted Violet, yes all 7 colours!  To soften the lines I spritzed with water, letting it sit for a couple of minutes before dabbing dry.  I stamped the flowers from Tim's Flower Garden onto water colour paper and coloured using the same Rainbow colour inks with a water brush.

I am going to enter this at :
Inkspirational Challenge - Use Your Stash (all old stash)
Mix It Up- ATG + Inked Backgrounds
Craft Stamper TIMI - Anything Goes

Thanks for calling in,
