Stand Out

I'm joining in again at Art Journal Journey where Jo has picked the theme of Something New this month.

This Studio Light stamp was a Christmas box to myself and this is it's first inking.  It' s mop up background and there's also some random stamping along with feint stencilling using a AALL& Create's Weathered Tiles, which is also being used for the first time.

Thanks for calling in,

White Space / or Colourful Grunge

The new challenge at Try it on Tuesday is White Space /OR Colourful Grunge - what will you choose?

I've opted for a colourful grunge background by using a piece of mop up card - believe it or not - the pale areas on here are watery pinks, although it's difficult to tell - I've then added some Peacock Feathers DI using a piece of acetate.  I stamped my image and doodled the frame ( a great technique shown by Tracy Evans)  I stamped the flower heads again, fussy cut and coloured with DIs and added a little black glitter to the centers.  I've framed the sentiment with a piece of vellum.

The Design Team have some fabulous inspiration for you, so please pop over to the main blog, and you'll also find all the challenge details and some news as we are having a DT call for TioT.

Thanks for calling in,

Leave a Little Sparkle

There's still another week to enter  the current challenge at Try it on Tuesday where our theme this week is What a Cutie/Make Someone Smile - well this little guy is so cute and he makes me smile.
If you head over to the blog you'll find all the challenge details as well as some interesting news.

I've stamped the 'Sparkle' in Silver Razzle Dazzle EP and added some sparkly Glamour Dust to his feathers.
It's the first time I've used the Visible Image 'Sparkle' Stamp so I'm going to join in at Art Journal Journey for Jo's theme of Something New with this page.

Thanks for calling in - and the computer update - after two days in the workshop last week all seems well - fingers and everything else crossed!

There are Always Flowers

I don't know about you, but I love making backgrounds and usually make a few with the same technique, this one was made when I tried Oxide inks onto glossy photo paper - I think it could be Twisted Citron.  I've stamped my flower and sentiment onto the card and then again onto white to colour and fussy cut, which I layered after a few splatters with black ink.

I'd like to enter the following challenges
Allsorts -   Say it With Flowers
Stamping Sensations - Favourite Stamp -( not just my flower but I love the sentiment)
Penny Black & More - Make it Feminine

Thanks for calling in,

What a Cutie/Make Someone Smile

Happy New Year can you believe it's 2020 - the start of a new decade - I hope it's a good one with lots of joy and creativity.
It's also the first challenge of the year at Try it on Tuesday and you have a choice - A Cutie/ or Make Someone Smile.
I've opted for the cutie option as I had to make a card for DD's God daughter's 5th Birthday.  I used some neglected G45 secret Garden papers and the Time Holtz Cabinet Die for the arch and back and added lots of fussy cut flowers.
The DT have some fabulous inspiration to please pop over to the main blog, where you will also find all the challenge details.

It seems such a long time since I posted - sorry, I found it so slow trying to just use my phone or the iPad - I like to rattle away on a keyboard.  I did get my computer back at the weekend, but unfortunately, the gremlin is back or should I say the wandering cursor!  It's as if the cursor is magnetised and keeps jumping to the left of the screen and just seems to gravitate back no matter what I try.  Leave it for a while and it might be OK.  The computer guy thought it was the touch screen and disabled that - Ok for a day and then jumping cursor - has anyone ever experienced this??

Enough of my ramblings - whatever you're up to, have a nice day,
Avril xx
