Things With Wings

The new challenge at Try it on Tuesdays this fortnight is Things with Wings.   I've been very predictable and chosen Butterflies as I wanted to use this butterfly that I'd inked up a couple of weeks ago.

I've used it  with a frame I'd made from the postage die with a hand cut aperture, this had been given a coat of Rock Candy Crackle.  The insert of the frame is a piece of co-ordinations, embossed with the 3D Botanical EF, sanded and distressed with Antique Linen oxide ink.  The sentiment is from an old Lost Coast stamp.

The rest of the Design Team have some fabulous inspiration for you, so please pop over to the main blog where you will also find all the challenge details.

I have Attitude!

A late entry for Art Journal Journey where this month Wendy has chosen the theme of Having Fun
Well I had fun making this page, a bit different for me, but as I said earlier, I'd felt in a bit of a crafting rut, so there were a few things that just fell off the shelf into my basket last month.
A computer generated sentiment cut apart which I think suits the pose!

Thanks for calling in, I'm off to make a start preparing lunch as DD is back from holiday and they're coming over.
Have a great Sunday.

The Joys of Wine!

Hello, I hope you had a lovely Easter weekend and enjoyed all that glorious sunshine, I know I certainly made the most of it, which is just as well as we've got quite a chilly breeze and cloudy skies today.

I'm sharing a couple of cards I made last week for DD, she had asked for 'more girly' than what I had in the box, so with some 'wine words' this old Flonzcraft image fit the bill.
I'd recently bought this Stampinbella on Ebay, so more 'wine words' - and some sparkly bits (one to cover a smudge - more practice required for making clean cards)

And finally, with the words that came with the image, this one was taken before I checked the uploaded image - note to self not to take a photo of white on white!

Something different, but I did enjoy using the wine words and can think of some of my older neglected stamps that would go well.

Thanks for calling in,

Brilliant Gent

Just a short post, but I wanted to join in at Tag Tuesday where the theme this fortnight is Industrial.  It's my Son's birthday soon, so this tag will have a money envelope attached to the back, much better than just putting money in a card or plain envelope.

I've been playing with  Oxide inks on glossy photo paper again for the background.  The cogs which had already been embossed, were in the bits box, left over from another project, so with some stamped images, a quick tag.

Have a lovely Easter Weekend, and for once I think we all might be enjoying some sunshine, fingers crossed.

Flowers for.....

Hello and thanks for calling in,  like a lot of folks I just had to have the Wildflower stems when they were first released but I realised I'd only used them a couple of times, shame on me.
I've used one of my Tyvek backgrounds and over stamped the Papillion script with Potting Soil Archival.  I've coloured my flowers with Distress inks to tone in with the background colours.  A really quick card  when you have a pile of ready cut and coloured stems just sitting waiting for the flower colour.  I haven't added a sentiment, I think that will probably just go inside.

Flowers are Always Beautiful

When I bought these quirky Carabelle Studio stamps, it was initially just for the  flowers  and  I've always thought they have an Art Deco look, so again I opted for a very CAS style for me.
I stamped and heat embossed with Gold EP and added a PaperArtsy sentiment.  I've coloured the main flower with Shaded Lilac Oxide ink and some Seedless Preserve on the other, along with Twisted Citron.
Now I just need to master the CAS style on white card as I always seem to get inky finger marks everywhere!

I am entering this at Allsorts where the theme this week is  Sentiment in Focus

Bloom

Hello, I've another journal page that fits in with our current challenge at Try it on Tuesday and there's still one week left  for you to join in, you can find all the details here.

I love flowers and have been busy potting up seeds which will be planted out in the garden when the weather is warmer, so I took that as my inspiration for this page.  My stamps are all magazine freebies along with my,  not very well doodled flower stems, and because I'd added a rough coat of gesso, my pen didn't quite flow when I wrote the words either.

I am going to link this up to Art Journal Journey where Wendy has chosen Having Fun as her theme for this month  -   I enjoyed making my pages and also the thoughts of planting and watching things grow is such a joy.

Exhausted Pigeon!

I came across this quote the other day and thought it was perfect for the Crazy Birds.  I don't have the stamps, but I am lucky to have a few images kindly stamped up for me by me good friend Yvonne.
I cut a tag shape around the image and masked off the bird before adding Oxide inks and then stencilling with Distress inks.  I did cover the tail with Oxide ink and wrongly decided to go over it with a pen, which I smudged - but hey  ho - it just looks like he's shaking his tail feathers!  I printed the quote and cut apart, edging with black DI before adding.

I am going to join in at Tag Tuesday where the theme this fortnight is Birds, Nests and Eggs,  I still have a few days left before the challenge closes.  I don't often make tags, so this was a nice change.

Thanks for calling in,
Enjoy the rest of the weekend.

Stencills at Try it on Tuesday

It's time for a new challenge at Try it on Tuesday and this fortnight we like you to Use a Stencil or Two

I've made a page in my journal and used two new stencils in shades of Milled lavender and Worn Lipstick.  I stamped and fussy cut some PaperArtsy flowers and again coloured with the sane DIs.
The cut apart words are also from a PA set of stamps.  To add some contrast and define the flowers I stamped a swirl in Peeled Paint before attaching the flower.

The rest of the Design Team have some fabulous inspirations so please pop over to the main blog, where you will also find all the challenge details.
