I read about this technique ages ago and when I opened my last packet of Beetroot, thought I would have a try. I saved some juice into a mini mister, cut some foliage from the garden, which I placed over my card base and sprayed with the juice. After removing the foliage, which acts as a mask, I was left with a white area, (although very feint in the photo) it makes a pretty backdrop for my flower.
I've added some script stencilling in Picked Raspberry and the sentiment is also stamped with PR and heat embossed with clear EP.
Have a great weekend,
Avril xx

What an interesting technique. I can see the trace of the leaf on the background. The script looks great on there too. Beautifull!
I can just see the leaf in the background ,think I'll give this technique a miss, knowing my habit of spilling stuff I'd probably end up with some on the carpet( just to join the orange and green paint stains I've never managed to get out!)

well one technique I have not heard of, very interesting Avril and a gorgeous result. Lovely blue lace card below this post.xx
Aren't you crafty clever, Avril! I love to eat pickled beets which are usually canned and have a lot of juice I usually pour down the drain. I should put some in a mini mister and play! Lovely piece in my favorite color! xoxox
Beautiful card, and a lovely idea to use beetroot. Enjoy your Sunday, hugs, Valerie
Now that is definitely a different use for beetroot juice. I bought a packet yesterday, so I might just have to give that technique a try. A super card x
ha ha I know what I am going to be asking Dave to save me next time he cooks us some beetroots - thanks Avril :)
Thats a beautiful card and the beetroot makes an awesome background.
Makes me wonder now what else in the food cupboard to use ... saffron maybe? mmmmmm
Happy Sunday! Gill xx
Sounds really clever Avril, never thought of it, only ever seen clothing dyed with juices, who knew....this looks really fabulous, maybe will give it a try some time.

Utterlu beautiful Avril, so nice to see this post. There are so many things we can make a mark with it's amazing what we throw away without giving it a second thought. Beetroot juice is amazing for dying fabric, most things that turn the water I just have to give it a try.. and we wonder why our crafty areas are over flowing hee hee!!
Wishing you a super week Hugs Tracey xx

Well, well, beetroot juice, eh? I really like the earthy colour tone of it... might have to experiment! A really lovely card - I love the simplicity of those flowers.
