Embossed rose

Another play with my new 3D Embossing folder, it makes a lovely card for friends not into inky stuff.
I cut the card wider than the EF  to give room to stamp the sentiment, after embossing I did some 2nd generation stamping with the music script, but it came out darker than I wanted, and as we crafters can't throw anything away, I salvaged it by giving it a watery coat of gesso, much more subtle!
I used gilding wax on the rose and leaves, although it's difficult to see the soft sheen.  The sentiment was stamped with Seedless Preserves Oxide before heat embossing with clear EP.

After thinking Spring is just around the corner, we woke up to a couple of inches of snow this morning, and DD phoned to say she couldn't get out of her village and the next village at the bottom of the hill was cut off too!  Our snow is melting as it's been very sunny, so hopefully this is just a blip!!

Valerie is right - it's a very elegant card. I love what you've done with that embossing folder. It's beautiful as it is, but the watery gessoed background over the music is gorgeous - and I bet the gilding wax looks beautiful. It's a beauty, Avril - a classic card.

Beautifully elegant Avril, before I read your post I was wondering just how it had been created, would never have dreamed it was an embossing folder.

Oh my gosh, faint! Just an amazing look you get using this! You should be getting a commission or enabler kickback - I just went to Amazon and got this folder along with a very similar Crafters Companion folder for my A7 cards. Thanks....I think! heehee XOX

I love that embossing folder. The effect you have created is stunning. We had hailstones and snow flurries on Tuesday but thankfully none of it settled. Roll on spring. Hugs Mrs.A.

Love the gorgeous EF great effect with the wax and love the delicate background-fingers crossed but we haven't had any snow at all this year and we are only further down the coast.

This is so beautiful, Avril - the detail on that rose is just phenomenal, and you've brought it out so well with the gilding waxes. The gesso made all the difference to the subtle music hovering in the background - just lovely!
