The Beauty of Nature

The Beauty of Nature is the new challenge at Try it on Tuesday and as always it's up to you how you interpret the theme.

My journal page embraces Nature in lots of different ways - yes I've used my lovely floral image, but my sentiment has more meaning to it!!!

My inky page was an experiement last Spring after reading an article in an old Craft Stamper about using fresh flowers - sandwiched between two pieces of card/paper and then running through a die cutting machine (not a powered one).  So if you look closely you can see that I used pansy's.  I stamped and fussy cut the flowers from another piece of pansy card.

Different results depending on what you use, and can you believe, I'd forgotten about these and found them lurking in the bits box the other day.

It would be lovely if you could join us and if you need any inspiration, please head over to the main blog where you will find all the challenge details.

I am entering this at Stamping Sensations as their current challenge is Spring Florals

Stay safe,
Avril xx

What a fabulous technique to make background papers. I haven't heard of this but once we get some flowers, I will have to try it. And your card is fresh and just gorgeous too. That is such a great quote. I think I have it in 3 different type styles. Hugs-Erika

Love the backgrounds you made with your pansies, Avril - gorgeous and so spring like. I'm with you on the words - far more meaningful but then I'm a sucker for inspirational words. I love your flower, though - I have that one and think it's beautifully drawn - so full of life. It's a fab card. Glad you're using up your 'bits' - it's so much fun to find things we've almost forgotten. Thanks for the technique idea, too...

That technique takes me back to Joanna Sheen days, I recall her doing it and what great results you achieved with the soft delicate colours.
