My journal pages uses a technique I read about somewhere, making your own stamps with string/rubber bands/lace or whatever would leave an impression.
I decided on a circular string pattern to match in with my girl's hair style!! Just some thick glue stick smeared on an old acrylic block and the string wrapped round - as you can see after use it's starting to uncurl a bit, but it did the job inked with Salty Ocean and Wilted Violet in the background on an inky mop up page.
You still have one more week to join in, so get creative and show us some technique that's new to you.
Thanks for calling in,
Avril x

Looks fab Avril, I think its great to try new things out but I just don't seem to get time these days, which is odd but there you go, well done I love your page.xx
Such a playful background, on all levels. Cool effect and matches the girl’s hair too.
Gorgeous piece Avril, so pretty. Hugs, Valerie
Fabulous page! I bet you had loads of fun making the stamp and then stamping with it on the background and I love the little girl and her friend 😁. Wishing you a wonderful new week! Hugs Jo x
Wonderful idea, Avril. I would never have considered wrapping the string in the way you did. It looks great. So often most of us limit our supplies to what we have instead of looking around for an alternative. Brilliant and very thought provoking...I'll be hunting around again (as I used to when I had fewer supplies) for stamp alternatives now, lol. We (or maybe just 'I') seem to stop thinking outside the box as times goes by. Thank you for that reminder.

What a great background this made Avril, although I had long since forgotten until I saw your post, years ago I used to put a rubber band round a brayer and get some interesting patterns - but of course 10/15 years ago not too many appreciated a bit of inkiness.
