Santa's on His Way
I masked Santa, before stamping the background and added some holy stamping before adding to a tartan layer for a traditional vintage look. Some festive greens and jute ribbon to complete.
I'm hoping to do some visiting, but it's a bit slow a the moment - (my computer has developed a very wicked gremlin with a mind of it's own, but hopefully, the nice man in the computer repair shop can get rid of him) so any commenting will be using my phone for the next few days.

Christmas is Coming
It's the last challenge of the year at Try it on Tuesday and the them is a nice easy one Christmas is Coming - and as usual it's up top you what you make.
I've opted for a card and used this jolly Santa, stamped onto white card, then masked while I coloured the background with Tumbled Glass DI. I stamped some second generation snowflakes with Iced Spruce. The sentiment was stamped and heat embossed with clear EP.
The rest of the DT have some great inspiration so please pop over to the main blog where you will also find all the challenge details.
Have a great day.

The First Snowflake
Hello, well after a lovely relaxing holiday, I think I need to get into panic mode and finish making some Christmas cards otherwise I'll end up buying some.
I did die cut quite a few snowflakes before I went away, so they were just waiting to be layered up and all I needed was the background. This background has been lying around for quite a while and the swirls were already brushed with silver paint, so I used a mica spray to add some shimmer before using a silver mirri base card and then added the snowflake which was silver - white glitter card and then a lovely pale blue glitter card, unfortunately the colours just don't show.
It's a start, just need to find some more backgrounds for the stack of die cut snowflakes!
I am going to enter this at Allsorts where the theme this week is Snowmen/and or Snowflakes.
Thanks for calling in,

Inspired by a Song/ or Carol
The new challenge at Try it on Tuesday this fortnight is Inspired by a Song/Carol.
Can you guess mine?
Sleigh Ride - although it was the line 'It's lovely weather for a sleigh ride together with you' and I was amazed at how many cover versions there are - here's a link to one.
I've used Tim Holtz Retro Christmas and built up my snowy scene after stamping the sleigh.
The rest of the DT have some fabulous songs/carols inspirations for you, so please visit the main blog where you will also find all the challenge details.
This is a schedule post as I'm hopefully enjoying some sunshine and a cold drink to celebrate a rather special birthday for hubby!
Have a great day, whatever you're doing,

White Christmas
I'd bought some Christmas napkins a few weeks ago.
I've used the sky and trees as my background and stamped the small log cabin from Inkylicious and some small deer and a silver embossed sentiment. Of course, it's cold and snowing so there's some Frantage there as well. The added bonus is I get four backgrounds from one napkin!
I am entering this at
Penny Black & More where the challenge is Christmas
Country View Challenge - Hand Stamped (although there's a napkin background, everything else is hand stamped
and also at Addicted to Stamps - Anything Goes

Brrrr It's Cold, Cold, Cold!
Cold, Cold, Cold. A good opportunity to start making those Christmas cards!
I've used two old favourites from Crafty Individuals and added the little deer and some extra trees to make the scene, which were magazine freebies. I've used Distress inks for the colouring and sponged Chipped Sapphire for the sky.
The rest of the DT have some wonderful inspiration for you, so please pop over to the main blog for all the details.

Fragrant Poppies
Hello, I really need to be making a start on some Christmas cards! I did have a little time yesterday and made a start sifting through the Christmas stamps and deciding which ones to use and then realised I'd made such a mess there was no space to do anything, anyhow, while tidying up I came across this card that was made a few weeks ago, but never blogged - and now seemed like a good time.
The background was made following a technique in Craft Stamper a couple of years ago - a piece of fern laid on cardstock and then spritzed with distress stain - I think this article had also used the beetroot juice! When dry, remove the fern which had acted like a mask, you can just make out the white fern shape beneath the poppy. I've also splattered some other inks too. The sentiment is from the same AALL & Create set.
Thanks for calling in and I'll be around soon to catch up.

Let it Snow!
The challenge at Tag Tuesday this fortnight is Anything Goes and although I'm a bit late - I thought this would giver me the 'push' I need to start thing about Christmas Cards.
A good start to get the motivation going - A gift tag. The background is a scrap from last year inked and then sprayed with Brushed Pewter stain, the Tim Holts Snowman, coloured and rubbed over with Star Dust stickles, die cut trees and hillside from glitter paper, and the sentiment was embossed with a silver sparkle EP - the only time of the year these get used!
Not much crafting this week, we're off tomorrow for a city break - I can see I'll be buying Christmas cards this year!!!

Colours of Autumn
It's time for a new challenge at Try it on Tuesday and for this fortnight we would like to see Colours of Autumn.
I've used an inky piece of left over background from a while ago, and for my main image I've used an Artistic Outpost image, coloured with Distress Inks. I've added some skeleton leaves and some tiny pinecones collected on a recent walk.
The rest of the Design Team have some fabulous inspiration, so please pop over to the main blog for all the details.

Hopes and Dreams
Hello, I'm sneaking in with another page for Art Journal Journey where the theme is Dreams and Wishes chosen by Eileen.
Crafting time has been in short supply lately, but yesterday was such a rainy day, so where better to spend it than in the craft room, but I think my inspiration had other ideas, so I set myself a goal - a mop up piece and use some of the un-inked 'freebie' stamps.
This will go into my latest journal, which now appears to be more 'subtle' than the previous journals were. I've used a flower and dragonfly and added some stamped TH words, hopefully it's got the creative process going again!
Thanks for calling in and I hope you're having a good weekend.

Happiness
A busy week catching up, but a little play time to ink up a new stamp so I could enter the challenge at Penny Black & More which is Pretty in Pink.
I've used another of the 'beetroot' backgrounds that I made a little while ago, but I've also added a few inky splatters of Picked Raspberry to tone in with the ink used to colour the flowers. I do love this sentiment.

Ooops!
Hello, DD asked me to make a Halloween card for her God daughter who's now 4yr old, so nothing too scary!
As a fun take, I've used some artistic licence with the Tim Holtz crazy birds and turned them into apprentice Wizards. Oh dear I think something went wrong - their Witch 'teacher' has ended up in the Cauldon!
I made an inky background adding a cauldron printed from the internet, and some hand drawn Witches/Wizards hats.
As a reminder, you still have one more week to enter our Halloween challenge at Try it on Tuesday and you can find all the details here.
Stay safe and don't talk to any birds wearing strange hats - you never know what might happen!

Dream Big
We've just had a few days in the Lake District where the Autumn colours are making a lovely show, so, I took the colours as my starting point for this page. The theme also meant I could use this neglected Rubber Stampede lady image, which I stamped onto tissue paper, I wonder what she's dreaming of? As there's the vintage arched window in the background, I think it might be something romantic!
As I started making this page this afternoon I suddenly heard a rattling noise - when I looked behind the blind at the window, I saw this small Tortoiseshell butterfly fluttering against the window, where it came from I don't know as we've been away all week. I wasn't really sure what to do as we'd had a couple of showers but thought it was better off outside - it didn't take long for it to find the opened window.

Witches and Wizards/ Halloween
My charming lady is just emerging from her hideaway to start chasing those spiders away before casting her spells. My base card started off just plain black and I used Twisted Citron and Wilted Violet Oxide inks to created the gloomy backdrop for the arch.
We'd love to see your Halloween creations and the Design Team have some spookylicious inspirations for you, so please pop over to the main blog to be suitably scared!

Leafy Bliss
I've missed the last couple of challenges at Tag Tuesday, so I was determined not to miss again, so with over a week to spare, here we are, my tag for the current theme of Autumn.
After colouring my tag with Spiced Marmalade, Rusty Hinge and Seedless Preserve DIs, I sprayed the centre with water to remove some of the colour before stamping the sentiment, which was a magazine freebie. The leaves, from the same set, were stamped with a mix of Rusty Hinge, Ground Espresso and Forest Moss DIs.
This also fits the current challenge at Stamping Sensations which is Trees and/or Leaves and/ or Autumn.
Have a great weekend

Pink Bouquet
I smeared Iced Spruce DI onto my Craft mat and spritzed with water before dipping just half of the card into it, when dry I did the same for the other side with Spun Sugar which just gave a hint of colour. I used the leftover drops to add splatters. For a little background detail some second generation stamping before arranging the flower heads and drawing in some stems. I will add a greeting later as it could be suitable for a couple occasions.

Make a Wish
I started with an Oxide sprayed background using only Antique linen, and adding a couple of splats from the nozzle. I then stamped the image a couple of times on white card and fussy cut various layers, coloured with Distress inks and layered up using foam pads.
Not my usual style, it looks very 'clean' and I don't normally do a lot of precise image colouring, but sometimes it's good to get out of the norm!
Have a good weekend,

Animal Magic
Hello, it's Tuesday and that means it's time for a new challenge at Try it on Tuesday and this fortnight the theme is Animal Magic, lots of scope there as long as you include an animal in your project
I think my page should have been called Animal Mayhem! I've used one of the Crazy Cats on a stencilled background and printed out the words, which are quite apt for this little character
The rest of the Design Team have some great inspiration for you, so please pop over to the main blog, where you will also find all the challenge details.
Have a great day, I'm out for another girly lunch to celebrate the last of the September birthdays (there's been 4 and a day out with friends in York - with a rather long lunch as it was torrential rain. I think the diet starts tomorrow!)

AJJ
I stamped my flower and then used Bundled sage Distress Ink with Lotza Dotz stencil for my background. After colouring the flower I used black ink for a few splatters.
Life should be getting back to normal from this week, so I hope to do lots of catching up as well as a play with some new stamps that have been sitting un-inked on my desk.

It's Hot! Hot! Hot!
Places/scenes or even hot drinks.
I've used hot bright colours with my tropical flowers, my main colour being Abandoned Coral .
I started with an Oxide sprayed background using Abandoned Coral, then used Dried Marigold, Antique Linen and AC with a stencil to do a mono print. Second generation stamping for interest before adding my fussy cut flowers, (as if I didn't have enough stamps, this was borrowed/used on a crafty day with my friend) which were coloured with Abandoned Coral and leaves coloured with Twisted Citron.

Journal Covers
I had a little crafty time today and decided to make a start on the grey board covers from my new Journal. Lots of messy inking and spraying to begin with using Oxides and then I stamped the image onto tissue paper and coloured the reverse with paints. I applied the tissue with DecoArt Decou-page and then used the medium to seal the cover.
I used the same technique on the back cover. Now I just need to decorate the inside covers.....
Have a great weekend,

Boys and Girls
It's time for a new challenge at Try it on Tuesday an this fortnight it's Boys/Girls/Children.
I've made a Birthday card for DD's God Daughter- she's such a cutie and this little paper doll just suits, especially with the Sugar and Spice words. The background was a mono print with Oxides over an Oxide sprayed piece of card and the words are computer generated. The sentiment was stamped in black and clear embossed.
The rest of the DT have some fabulous inspiration, so please pop over to the main blog for all the details.
I am entering this at Allsorts, where the current challenge is Feminine.

Dreaming
Scraping in at the end of the month, but better late than never, I've made a journal page to join in at Art Journal Journey where the theme this month is Anything with Eyes chosen by Gill.
I started with some mop up paper, stamped the window, Freya was stamped onto tissue paper as I wanted to reverse the image, added some stencilling, background stamping and a sentiment.
I came across some greyboard covers and ring fasteners that were bought forever ago, so this will be the first page of a new (handmade) journal.

Happy Flower
It's Bank Holiday weekend and we're having glorious weather. Although I love the sunshine, I do struggle with the heat, so before the sun gets round to shine in my craft room window, and before the challenge ends, I wanted to make a tag to join in at Tag Tuesday and the theme this time is Anything Goes.
This tag uses one of my Beetroot sprayed backgrounds and a fussy cut flower that was lying on my desk, so a nice easy one, especially in this heat. It's also a reminder that you still have one week left to join in our challenge at Try it on Tuesday, In My Garden There is ……..and you can find all the details here
Hope you're all enjoying the holiday weekend and the good weather.

In My Garden.....
The new challenge at Try it on Tuesday is In My Garden There Is ………..
I've gone with the obvious - Flowers, but it's up to you how you interpret this.
I've used Brushos for my background and rotated the card as I sprayed the card with water. My flowers were stamped and coloured with Picked Raspberry Distress ink on the card, stamped again on spare card, coloured fussy cut and I added just the flower heads with 3D foam for a little dimension.
The Design Team have some wonderful inspiration, so please pop over to the main blog for all the details.

The challenge at Tag Tuesday is Summer Fun, so while I had my CI stamps out for Try it on Tuesday's current theme of Wish You Were Here, I made a tag so I could join in with the fun at Tag Tuesday.
I've adhered a napkin to the tag for the background and fussy cut my CI lady. The sentiment is from a freebie magazine set.

Wish You Were Here!
It's time for a new challenge at Try it on Tuesday and for this fortnight we 'Wish You Were Here'.
I've opted for a one layer, day at the seaside with my vintage images from Crafty Individuals. I stamped the standing lady first, stamped her on a post-it note, fussy cut and masked her off, then stamped the postcard, masked that with a post-it note and finally stamped the beach huts. I've used Distress inks to colour.
The rest of the Design Team have some wonderful places for you to join them, so please pop over to the main blog, where you will also find all the challenge details.

Juicy!
I read about this technique ages ago and when I opened my last packet of Beetroot, thought I would have a try. I saved some juice into a mini mister, cut some foliage from the garden, which I placed over my card base and sprayed with the juice. After removing the foliage, which acts as a mask, I was left with a white area, (although very feint in the photo) it makes a pretty backdrop for my flower.
I've added some script stencilling in Picked Raspberry and the sentiment is also stamped with PR and heat embossed with clear EP.

Blue Lace
I cut the Intricate Lace die in white card and embossed with Iron Oxide Embossing powder, it has gorgeous little sparkles of silver included, which of course doesn't show in the photo.
I layered it over navy cardstock and added Wildflower stems coloured with Abandoned Coral. I even die cut the sentiment, although by this photo, I think I need a bit more practice with the placement!
We've had rain and grey skies for the last three days, so things have definitely cooled down - back to normal I suppose.

Splatters and Splodges
I've used part of a background that had been sprayed with Distress Oxides. I stamped my flower and sentiment directly onto the card and then the flower again on white card and fussy cut the leaves and flower head, which after colouring were attached and popped up slightly with some 3D foam.

Perfect Moments
A little bit of play time in the middle of a busy week, well I think I deserve it - it was my birthday yesterday and by busy I think I should have said galivanting and I'm not finished yet. Hubby and I are off to Yorkshire for a couple of days and then I've another girlie lunch planned for Thursday!
Anyhow, I just had to have a play with this beautiful Freya again and although I've only used one image from the set I do think she will be quite versatile.
This time I've fussy cut the image along with some stamped flowers, and used an inky/stencilled background and some second generation background stamping in Watering Can Archival, along with part of a Visible Image sentiment, which was also stamped in Watering Can.
I am just scraping in at Stamping Sensations where their theme this months is Show Your True Colours, and I do love these colours. I am also going to join in with Simon Says Monday Challenge of Make your Own Background.
Thanks for calling in and I hope you have a good week, whatever you're doing, I'm keeping my fingers crossed for fine weather.

Lots of Fun
I had lots of fun with this page and felt as if I had entered my second childhood! It's a page for Art Journal Journey where the current theme chosen by Halle is Words to Live By. This little lady needed an inking and I've also used her little friend who had been left on the stamp sheet when she had her previous outing. The words seemed appropriate to this fun page.
Whilst in my 'fun' mode, I made a tag for Tag Tuesday where their theme is Wings - I just had to use this little guy, who has been sitting patiently for a couple of months, for just the right occasion.
The words are computer generated and just seemed perfect for the patient and bewildered look!
I took this photo a couple of days ago - shame on me the coconut was empty - this poor little bird probably had the same expression as he sheltered from the rain. I hasten to add - I did go out as soon as there was a break in the weather and put a new one out. We actually said 'hello' to sunshine yesterday and it seems to be forecast to stay for a few days - fingers crossed.

Material Girl
I thought this would give me an opportunity to use one of my Tim Holtz Runway Girls. I stamped her twice and fussy cut one, the other I only cut the dress to which I added some very old lace. I dyed this and a piece of lace trim with Milled Lavender. The background stamping was done with ML DOX.
It would be lovely if you joined in the fun and if you need any inspiration, the Design Team have some very varied pieces to share here and you will also find all the challenge details.
Edited to add: I meant to do this at the time - and link up to Allsorts Challenge blog where the theme is Soft Pastels, so I hope this will still count.

Feminine and Time For Tea
Rain and more rain so what's a girl supposed to do? Craft of course!
A productive day in the craft room and a crafty afternoon with a friend yesterday - can't think of anything better!
I've admired this Art Journey stamp, so when she just happened to fall into the basket, well I couldn't put her back. An inky background with Dried Marigold and Twisted Citron Oxide sprays, stencilling with Victorian Velvet DI and some neglected Tim Holtz stamps before masking off and stamping 'Freya' with Versafine Onyx Black. I am entering this at Stamping Sensations, where the theme this month is Show Your True Colours.
I also made a tag to join in the challenge at Tag Tuesday which is Beverages. The image is one of those little 'freebies' that come with your order from Crafty Individuals. I've used a stencil and Distress inks for the background.
Well, it looks like today has more rain in store, will it ever stop.
Have a great weekend whatever you're doing.

It's a Man's World
It's time for a new challenge at Try it on Tuesday and for this fortnight 'It's a Mans World' which could be good timing for Fathers Day or a masculine birthday.
I've made another Oxide ink on glossy photo paper background. My main image was stamped and fussy cut before applying. I've then stamped a couple of the extra images from the stamp set with black and brown Stazon inks. The sentiment was computer generated.
The rest of the Design Team have some wonderful inspiration for you, so please pop over to the main blog for all the details.

Simplicity
Hello, it's been a while - good intentions but real life just got in the way.
Anyhow, the theme at Art Journal Journey this month is Words to Live By chosen by Halle.
A simple page with torn die cuts Gessoed and then Oxide sprays in Dried Marigold and Twisted Citron. Some stencilling in Wild Honey Oxide before stamping the large butterfly and quote from the TH Perspective set. I do love this quote as I sometimes think we make life more complicated than it needs to be, or is that just me!
Thanks for calling in and hopefully this little blog won't be so neglected.
Edited to add - I'm prompting myself to enter a few of my favourite challenges and so I'm going to link this up to Penny Black and More where the theme this month is Blooms, Butterflies and/or Bugs.

Anyhow, the theme at Art Journal Journey this month is Words to Live By chosen by Halle.

Twinkle, Twinkle
Well, the best laid plans - full of good intentions for this week, but it's only today that I've managed some crafty time. I set myself a goal this year to join in every month at Art Journal Journey and I'm just scraping in with one day to spare with this page. The theme this month is In the Sky/In the Air set by Erika.
A simple page with a starry sky and the title of an early 19th century Lullaby.
Thanks for calling in,
